Wonderful daycare - I have one son who attended for two years and a 1 year old who has been at the…read moreschool for a year. Their infant room is wonderful and I really feel confident leaving my infant everyday - I know he's in good hands and well cared for. My one year old is so excited to get to school everyday and runs right for his teacher. He is always happy when I pick him up at the end of the day.

From the owner: Welcome to DFW's premier Performing Arts Preschool. Studies have proven that studying music…read morestimulates the brain & promotes academic achievement. We believe exposure to the arts will stimulate your preschool child's emotional, academic, physical, and social development. One of the most important aspects of Music & Dance Preschools is the recognition that families are the primary educators to each student. One of our goals is to establish and continue a strong partnership between the staff and the families of our students. Open communication between parents and teachers is valuable in understanding a child's style of learning, comprehension, and abilities. Our curriculum is designed to involve the whole person; including the mind, the body, and the spirit. Everyone is born with gifts and talents and everyone is different. We strive to make each and every day full of loving nurturing instruction that will excite and encourage students to learn and grow physically and spiritually. You are a very important part of this process and we look forward to a wonderful partnership with you and your family. We look forward to working with your child this year to help you achieve your goal of raising a well-rounded, happy & healthy child. Jamie De Voe, Owner

Only 3 months into this daycare First class Academy Euless, TX I get a phone call on 1-25-16 I…read moredidn't answer the first one because i was at work and she left a voicemail asking if I could give them a call as soon as possible and that was it very calm nothing serious... They then called my mom her emergency contact she didn't answer and they left her a message saying that my daughter "Smashed" her hand and if she could get in contact with me and let me know. The co-director then called me again 3 mins later this time I answered while at work and she simply told me my daughter smashed her hand... In my mind I'm thinking she closed a door on her hand but nothing too bad. I told the co director ok let me see if I can leave work early and she said ok and we hung up. By then my mom heard her voicemail & called me and I told her they told me she smashed her hand they didn't give me any details as I didn't asked either because I'm at work & im still believing she just smashed her hand in the door. My mom called the daycare back & she asked what happened they explained to her that another child knocked over a wooden book shelf & it smashed My daughters hand. & my mom asked well is it bleeding how bad is it. They said yes it's bleeding my mom told them to call 911 or have her transported to an emergency facility the Director told her well her mom said she was on her way #1 I didn't say that I told her let me see if I can leave work early my mom told her NO her mom is still at work and she needs to be transported to an emergency facility but she basically denied that action stating that she didn't feel that 911 needed to be called & also stated her mom doesn't seem to think that it is an emergency since she is still at work! "First of all the co director didn't even tell me what exactly happened didn't explain to me that my daughter was bleeding or anything" secondly I had to take proper actions before I could just leave work! I'm trying rush out of work after I asked my manager if I could leave early because of the situation smashed hands may not be A lot but any little thing makes me nervous and anxiety starts to kick in so I was going to leave work anyways I DO NOT like to hear babies getting hurt in any type of way especially my own... I rushed out of work leaving my purse in my locked desk so I had NO INSURANCE CARD, NO DRIVERS LICENSE no nothing and didn't realize it until I got her to the E.R. So I did take it serious but still didn't know the severity of it......My mom is the next to call the shots if I wasn't available you should have called 911 but refused because you Didn't think she needed medical attention? You don't have a license to practice nursing or a medical degree to call that type of situation especially after you were asked to do so from someone who is able to make those decisions on her behalf. I get too the daycare & the director tells me your mom is really upset but I didn't think 911 needed to be called but I want you too know it is bad and she needs to go to the emergency room so I'm like what happened & she tells me that another child mind you my daughters age group is 18-24 months knocked over a wooden shelf onto her hand and I'm like how is that possible "it's no carpet it's just tile so the shelf was leveled not even a 2 year old could knock over this heavy shelf "the oldest age in her classroom" I just don't see it" so she gives me a copy of the incident report I sign it and I'm just trying to get to my daughter at this point I'm pissed my daughter is isolated in a room with a teacher who is holding her hand up wrapped in a hard paper towel no cloth or anything full of blood & she's just crying loudly you could hear the pain in her cry she cried out mommy as she reached for me with her other hand I rushed to her & I seen her hand & was furious at that point I rushed her out the door leaving her coat & shoes behind in which the teacher brung out to my car "the teacher just kept saying I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry" very apologetic unlike the directors. I had to rush my daughter to an emergency room in 4:00 pm traffic in Arlington tx by myself trying to pay attention to her and the road as she is bleeding badly. 45 minutes had already passed by the time I had to rush out of work and rush her to the emergency room when all the daycare had to do was transport her right? All that pain with no Pain medication or anything she had to suffer and then not to mention the short wait at the emergency room until they gave her some pain medicine. When the Doctor seen her he automatically knew she had broken fingers but the Director of the daycare didn't think it was serious enough to call 911 She had two crushed bones in her finger tips and she had to be sedated to get stitches in both of her fingers 6 in her pinky finger alone and lost her nail at the age of 1.... **Update she has to have surgery on Monday to fix the bones in her hand

While the school has seen several administrative changes, including a very difficult period under a previous director, we stayed because of the incredible teaching staff. Unfortunately, the school recently lost Ms. Shelina, an 11-year veteran and the only fully Montessori-certified teacher on staff. To see a teacher of her caliber and dedication pushed out--seemingly due to administrative interference with her classroom expertise--is heartbreaking. Furthermore, the physical environment has declined; classrooms have become overcrowded with furniture, making it difficult for children to work independently as the Montessori method intends. Until there is stability in staffing and a return to true Montessori standards, I find it difficult to recommend this school to new families.

Since joining in January 2023, we've noticed some ongoing transitions in staffing. However, during…read moreour time with the school we can share that Ms. Shelina was an absolute phenomenal educator for both of our girls. Her understanding of our eldest daughter and her need to have structure yet space to learn and how she was able to explain that to us was truly exceptional. And her dedication to creating a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment was truly remarkable for our youngest daughter. She consistently went above and beyond sparking a genuine love for our girls that had them wanting to share what they learned that day. Ms. Shelina's commitment to the students and the school was always evident, and her departure will be a significant loss for both the school and students as they would have would have benefited from her guidance and patience in the future.

We have been to other day cares in the Grapevine/Southlake area and Primrose is by far our favorite. The teachers and classrooms are very close knit. All the teachers are fantastic and very affectionate with my kids. My daughter's teachers know my son and vice versa. I like that the same teachers are with my kids for most of the day and that they are there when I pick my kids up. I can find out how my kids' days went directly from the source. Parents receive detailed progress reports about their child from the teachers several times a year. Each age group has their own fenced playground that is attached to their classroom. Teacher turnover is very low. We have only had one teacher leave and she was going back to college. The teachers and staff enjoy their job and it shows in everything they do. Every month, Primrose has a family appreciation day where they do something special for each family like send home fresh-baked cookies, homemade chilli and cornbread, etc. They also offer a Parent's Night Out once a month for a small charge. My son attends a computer class called Floppy's Mouse Club and exercise class called Stretch N Grow once a week for a small fee. They also offer a weekly gymnastics class. The office staff and day care director know every parent and child by name. We have had such a positive experience at Primrose Bedford and our only regret is not going there sooner!

At St. Philip's we found the most wonderful, caring, and attentive employees once could hope to find. The director stays involved with the children on a daily basis, welcoming parents and the children each morning and then "seeing them off" in the afternoon. The classes are small enough that every child gets all the attention necessary to (1) help them get adjusted to the environment, routine, and expectations; and, (2) get the warmth, affection, and love a parent would want their child to receive. St. Philip's is exceptional and we are extremely grateful for everything they have done to help my granddaughter become the well-rounded child that she now is.

And was without our consent. At 3 years old, children are learning how to play, listen, and understand -- they shouldn't be held to unrealistic standards. I later learned this had supposedly been a concern since he was 2, yet no one ever discussed it with us. It feels like the school made assumptions and took advantage of us being young, first-time parents instead of communicating openly. Parents deserve transparency and children deserve to be supported, not judged.
