The staff is extremely unprofessional. There were incidents of the assistant head of school speaking negatively about parents to other parents. There has been SEVERAL times where I walk into a class to pick up my son and see the extended day guides on their phones and not paying attention to the children. 2. The guides are careless. My son has come home many times with dry food or glue on his glasses to where he couldn't see out of them. If the staff cared, they would take the 1 minute it takes to wipe his glasses off. He's also come home with dried glue stuck in his hair. This is also something that could've been cleaned off with water in one minute. 3. The head of school and assistant head of school DO NOT have your child in their best interest. They have their behinds in their best interest. - they did not want to advance my son into the children's house class because of a minor speech delay and NORMAL toddler behavior. They are NOT ACCEPTING of children who don't act and talk just like theirs. 4. They rarely upload progress reports or pictures of your child's daily activities. 5. They have new staff coming in and out of this school monthly it seems. If your child has some type of developmental delay, DO NOT enroll your child here. It is a waste of time and money..and quite frankly, energy! I'm extremely baffled with the fact that they aren't accepting of my son when they talk about loving and caring so much for these kids. They are deceiving. They will make you feel like it is your fault! Don't let Jamila or Sydney manipulate you.

Jamila, HOS, and Sydney, AHS, are both the most dedicated and supportive and experienced school administrators I've ever met. They constantly pour themselves out to make sure the kiddos receive the most authentic Montessori education as possible. So many schools say they're Montessori and this is absolutely it. So far we've had an amazing experience in Nido, Toddler house and children's house. We are here for the long run and can't wait to see the school continue to grow.

After quickly adjusting to his new routine, my son has since remained enthusiastic to go to school. Ms Puja, the experienced director, and Ms Erica were so patient and understanding with my multiple calls, emails and texts checking in on my son in his first couple of weeks. We knew our son was in great hands from the start. My son enjoys all of the engaging activities his teachers provide each day. His language has expanded in just weeks and he's singing songs at home. I have experience as an early childhood educator and I am in awe of all of the experiences and opportunities to learn that they are providing to my 1.5 year old each day. I know that he will continue to grow and learn here for years to come and he will, most definitely, benefit from his time here at HMA. When I pick my son up each day you can see the love he has for all of his amazing teachers and the staff at HMA and I can see that they know and care for my child and all of the children in their care. He blows kisses and grins to each teacher when we leave and it melts my heart. If you are anywhere near this location and looking for a home away from home for your child, as well as a place that will foster their growth and development with love and patience, I'd highly recommend that you tour HMA. When I visited HMA I knew it was a special place and I am grateful to send my son there each day because of the amazing staff.

This is an update to my original review as of 5/16/2024…read more Miss Bloomingdale's continues to be such a great school for our youngest daughter. She is now 5, and in the Pre-K/Kindergarten program, and just loves all her teachers there. Miss Chere is clearly one of her favorites. And even though she is not in Miss Chere's class anymore, she always wants to make sure I take her to Miss Chere's classroom so she can say hi to her and give her a hug. But all the teachers continue to be great. And Miss Bloomingdale's as an institution is really an excellent value. For the combination of care, education and tuition rates...they are well worth it. And it's evident that they do the best they can to keep their tuition rates as reasonable as possible while still being able to provide a quality education and stay in business in this highly competitive environment. This is a locally-owned, family-run business that I'm proud to support, and I genuinely feel they have been overall a better fit for our family than other daycares/schools in the area that are most likely cookie cutter franchises -- and more expensive.

Miss Bloomingdale's molds your child into a well-rounded individual. The focus on learning and development - 5 stars; athletics (swim, soccer and dance classes are offered ONSITE) - 5 stars. Learning good manners and respect - 5 stars!!! The teachers and staff - 5 stars. Had we not moved, my son would without a shadow of a doubt would still be there. In fact, I was more emotional and torn up about him leaving. Thank you Miss Bloomingdale's for the huge impact you've had on my family. Will forever be in our hearts!!!

When we got home, her bottle from her diaper bag was still full so I checked the log: she went from 12:30pm to 5:30 pm without drinking formula. When she got a new teacher, she had diaper rash almost daily, and it was serious, as in welts. Her teacher denied any problems, like maybe there was something emotionally wrong with the teacher. I attended the observation session and watched this same teacher push my child down backwards to the ground. Something was quite wrong with that teacher in particular. The lack of care and experience on the teachers' part got me thinking about Montessori in general. I don't think Montessori is a good choice for us. The atmosphere seemed bleak and only functional learning was being address, no character formation (which also seemed lacking with the staff). They didn't celebrate Christmas either. Bleak and dark. We go somewhere else, and at the new place, parents are allowed inside the building and can peek in the hallway windows to the classrooms as they watch their children continue to play and respond in delight as they see their parents have arrived.

Looking back on our experience, there is absolutely no question in my mind that the 2+ years we spent with St. Christopher's were the best for not only our boys (now 5- & 6-years old), but our whole family. From the smart, personable, and observant teachers, to the diverse (international!) feel of the community, to the bright & welcoming atmosphere created by Becky and the front desk staff, St. Christopher's truly raised the bar for our expectations of a school & faculty. Prior to finding St. Christopher's, our boys had attended both Montessori and non-Montessori schools in the White Rock Lake/Lake Highlands areas, and they've attended 3 other schools (1 Montessori, 1 public, and 1 private) in Dallas & Rowlett since. Being a part of so many different schools (not all of which were bad, by the way!) has taught us to appreciate the "small" things (hygiene!, front desk friendliness, student diversity, parental involvement) as well as the "big" things (safety/security, curriculum, communication, caring & nurturing atmosphere). St. Christopher's gave us all of those things and then some. As parents, we always felt welcome, and we rested assured knowing that our children were being exposed to cool neat things (languages, art, etc.) and ideas by people who cared about them & their respective development (our boys are pretty different from one another!). When my wife & I finally settled down in Rowlett (20 miles east of Dallas), our biggest regret was that we'd have to leave St. Christopher's - and even then, we made the daily 2-hour commute until we couldn't take it anymore. If you have the opportunity to send your kids here, I truly can't recommend it highly enough. It's the best, most nurturing and inspiring school we came across. Best wishes to you & your family, and I hope your experience is as good as ours was! :)

I addressed my concerns of cleaness after noticing many times that my daughter's assigned crib was being used as storage. Sick babies were brought to daycare regardless how sick they were. Also, the items I brought for her were not being utilized for no valid reason. When I addressed my concern after my daughter had RSV and COVID and gave one month notice, Rumya(owner/managing for owner) asked me to give them another chance. When I went to drop off my daughter, daycare main teacher Anna, refused to speak to me. I told Nimmi, the director, how Anna treated me and would not speak to me. She told me to give Anna time and that she will come around. I left feeling very uncomfortable because I left my daughter in this person's care who doesn't wanted to interact me due to the concerns I had. When I went to pick her at the end of the day, my daughter was alone with Anna and she was crying a lot. The excuse that was given to me was that my just woke up from her nap. My daughter doesn't cry when she wakes up from nap and especially not the way she was crying. After returning home, I noticed 3 bright red marking on her legs. It was not from any toy. They looked like pinched marks and I believe it was a retaliation towards my daughter. I informed Rumya about this tue following. Rather than understanding the situation, I was told that I have trust issues and should not bring my daughter back. Now when requested for refund of deposit and remaining days a month before, I was told that I have to wait for the owner to be back in the country. Owner Vineeta Samir has clearly refused to talk to me about the issue and is not willing to return the deposit. I want all parents to know that if you see any marking on your child, report the daycare. Staff is nice before you encounter a real issue and then everything goes downhill. There are far better daycare who won't take deposit and would treat both child and parent better. Kindly consider those. Rockbrook Montessori run by Indians who practice Indian ways in the West and thinks they can get away with everything especially Rumya and Vineeta. Message for Anna...Physically abusing a child was a very wrong way of dealing a normal concern. I left my child in your care. Not for you to retaliate and harm my daughter. Message for Rumya...Your approach of dealing the situation was extremely wrong. If you want to burn your business then keep up the approach. As a parent, I hope you experience what I experienced at this daycare. Message for Vineeta....extremely disappointed. The way you spoke to me was unprofessional. Remember I am not your child/student. I am a mother of a child who was in your care. What is the reason for you not to return the deposit and a prior month payment? Are you so desperate to keep it?
