We went Sunday evening as an early dinner. I'd passed by many times and has been tempted to try. The decor is simple but fitting, and it is definitely bigger inside than it looks. We went to Momofuku in New York last week and was extremely disappointed with there udon (not even warm :( no flavor nothing for an 2 hours wait!) We also ordered sushi and AC, salmon, mango and California rolls and they were Aaamazinggg veggies in them were fresh crispy - more than five stars to the hospitality, the lady here came and asked for our tastes and how spicy and warm/hot should our soups be. Let's just say I won't be going back here. I've eaten a lot of sushi, and a lot of good sushi. Unfortunately, I've experienced some bad too. And when you eat the bad, you know it. Part of me feels bad for writing a poor review, but the other part of me hopes they'll fix these issues to attract more customers. Lived in San Diego (lot of good food spots and large Asian culture) and been to Japan numerous times. Trust this review. Anyone who thinks this place is good hasn't had good sushi. Decor is nice. I'll give em that, but the music in the background was some weird piano jamming. It was continuous and didn't fit the place at all. I should have taken the fact that no one was in there as a tell tale sign. Just my luck. Haven't been out in a while, decide to try a new spot, and this is what I get. Review: Sushi wasn't fresh. You can tell when sushi is fresh and when it's not. Colors aren't as vibrant and the roll just looks bland and old. Spicy Tuna: This is a simple go-to and it's hard to screw up, but they managed. Far spicier than any spicy tuna I've had and it wasn't a pleasant spice or something that went with the roll. Eel: One of my favorite rolls because well, ya know, eeeeel is awesome. Not the case here. I have NEVER discovered bones in an eel roll until now. Kinda freaked me out to be honest. Eel rolls are usually warm too, assuming the eel is fresh. Nope. Just cold, boney eel rolls with a questionable sauce. The taste wasn't bad, but the rest of the factors just overrule everything else. Gyoza: Oh gosh. Straight out of the microwave is my guess. It wasn't even cooked through. I'm guessing it doesn't get ordered often and when it does, they got it on standby made ahead of time and pop it in the micro. The sauce couldn't even improve it. It was just a really bad experience entirely. I'll try Gaza or Wasabi next time. Hopefully they produce better results. This place is just scraping by and I don't even know how they're managing that. read more

My husband and I have been here 3 times already and never disappointed once. My favorite dish called Jae Yook Bokkeum which is Korean dish (Sateed pork with chilly sauce) It tastes so good, not burning hot (for me) and the pork is so tender. My husband he tried Chicken Yakisoba this time and he likes it. We also order Spicy B.B.Q tuna roll. It has a little bite and pretty good. We will come here again for sure over and over. Absolutely delicious! We just moved to long valley this past month and have been going around neighboring towns to see what's around and taste testing the various eateries. We saw Little Tokyo while driving in the area and decided to give it a go. Wow!!! We ordered the dragon roll (we see we should in fact have ordered the Big Bang Roll for eel covered roll), spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls and they were SO tasty tightly wrapped rolls. Sushi connoisseurs rejoice! I've tried every Japanese spot within 20 miles and this place is an absolute gem- they continue to top my list. The food: In one word: FRESH. It's easy to mask the taste of fishiness by drowning a roll in spicy mayo. The true test is with sashimi, and they get an A++. Skillfully cut, presented and delicious. The salmon cuts like butter and is my favorite. It's hard for me to stray from their sushi menu but their cooked menu is equally delicious. All of our family's birthday dinners are here so I've had the opportunity to try a lot off their menu. Can't go wrong with the yakisoba noodle dish or the salmon teriyaki. The service: Tasteful Japanese accents in a clean, welcoming atmosphere. They're run by a husband/head sushi chef and wife/manager who is always catching up with patrons (regulars are a sign of consistently good food and service). The price: More than reasonable for the quality of food and the fact that they are BYOB is the cherry on top. They uncork and provide ice buckets. Thankfully, I never feel rushed when I stay longer to finish my drinks. read more

The waitress gave us the dinner menu, but we know the restaurant serves lunch special Monday through Saturday. After we asked for it, the waitress unwilling gave us the lunch menu. The ramen I ordered was made from instant noodles. It is not the traditional ramen. There is no meat in it. They were also skimpy on the salmon bento box. This place is not the easiest to get into it's in a bad spot in my opinion but the building inside is the best. I love the decorations and the way it is set up. The food was wonderful. I have not had such tasty miso soup any where else. My husband and I got the Stone Pot Bibimbap and the crunch ball. The Crunch ball was really great crunchy rice on with lots of flavors. I'm not sure if this place is under new management, but quality seems to have slipped in the past 6 months. The sushi itself is still very good (you can't go wrong with old classics like a salmon avocado roll or a yellowtail scallion roll), but non-sushi items are less than great. The tempura in the bento box is not real tempura, but a glutinous mass of fried veggies mushed together. The dressing on the salad is too sweet and too strange to be a classic ginger dressing you get at a typical Japanese place; the tofu in the miso soup was strangely dense, and the broth not nearly flavorful or warm enough. Again, if you're just going for the sushi itself, you're still getting a good deal-- but all the little trimmings that have slipped make Fujiyama a better option. read more

The sushi nearly fell apart and the pork entree was nothing special especially for $18. this is a new restaurant so it may take a couple tries to get everything right. A friend and I were craving Korean food but settled for sushi. Pleasant surprise to find jjigae on the backside of the menu, saving me a 40-minute drive. We alqays get sushi and Korean food when we go. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is great! If I could give no stars I would. Was served two rolls that had stuff wrong with them. My roll had bones in it and was told she wasn't gonna take it off the bill because there was only two rolls left even though we showed her 3 in a napkin that we had to spit out. Also got a roll with shell in it. Not just the ends it was in the center of the roll and was black. Completely not edible. Kept telling us over and over that she was only gonna take off the roll that was cheaper. read more
