Shiki is a pretty good Japanese sushi restaurant. I e eaten there once but have gotten takeout a number of times. The food is good. I've had many items from the sushi menu as well as the kitchen menu. Everything is fresh and tasty. When ordering on line they typically tell you 30 minutes but then you find ourself waiting in the restaurant for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until your food is actually ready. A minor complaint. If you like sushi, give it a try. I think you'll be satisfied. read more

Sushi is good but get it to go - the inside dining room has seen better days & is not nice really to sit in. Seems they use some of the space to fold napkins, etc as it is a very large & open space. The waitress service was OK - no complaints but I did notice that once a table leaves, they never clean it up. There are better options in Hackettstown for sushi. read more

It is so hard to find a decent Japanese restaurant around Hackettstown. My friend and I went to Shiki at 6pm this past Saturday. There was no other customers in the dining room. The place looked dead! My sushi entree could not be more plain. There was zero decoration on the plate and they just gave 2 pieces of 4 kinds of fish. Ordered take out at 6:41 PM on a Friday night. The food wasn't ready until past 8:30 PM. I would highly recommend avoiding ordering from this place especially on a busy night. We ended up having to get alternate food plans during that two hour wait to feed our kids, and put the food in the fridge for the next day. I read the reviews. Not sure they are really accurate. Sushi is okay. They seem to do a brisk take out though. They tried to sell me salmon as salmon belly?? They also sold me regular shrimp as bodan ebi. The taste and shrimp heads are different than regular shrimp. I try to find good quality sushi near home. So far i've found i need to travel to Ota ya, Nikko, Laku Sushi for my fix. Another 15 minutes but quality and variety are worth the drive. read more

Stumbled here by accident, can't believe this hidden gem exists and we didn't know about it! I got chirashi, he got sushi/sashimi combo and both were excellent! Very happy! I'm glad we decided against Little Tokyo which is just a couple miles down the road and tried Wasabi instead. Our waitress was very pleasant as were the sushi chefs. Everything was very fresh, light, and tasty. We each got house salads that had very generous portions (they were in huge bowls, not the tiny ones that you'd receive at a hibachi place) and the ginger dressing was super flavorful. The rolls we received were the perfect portions and the service was very friendly as well. When we said that we were too full for dessert, they gave us a really beautifully presented orange just so we could have a bite of something sweet before we left. We'll definitely be back! read more

We decided to try Wasabi because they're participating in Hackettstown Restaurant week and we love Sushi. It exceeded our expectations. We ordered the house salad and seaweed salad both of which were very good as well as very generous portions. We ordered some basic rolls and designer rolls as well as vegetable udon. Everything was great, generous portions and the fish tasted very fresh. My husband thought the udon was bland but I thought it was fine. He put a little soy in there and that did the trick. I much prefer that vs. too salty and nothing you can do about it. Not only was the food great, the service was just as good. They were attentive and kept our waters full. They knew about restaurant week without me having to explain it (unlike another restaurant the night before). We enjoyed this very much and will most definitely be going back soon. read more

Out little One doesn't eat sushi but the waiters offer great options like getting takeout from the Chinese place next door (Same owner).
