Totally delightful! Great assortment of gem jewelry! I got a piece of white and black agate in a necklace that looked like it was a picture of a landscape. The owner took his time with me and others in the shop, but the best part was that je is reasonably priced and that is not always the case when it comes to jewels in Hawaii! I loved this little town and the shop was a totally fantastic experience. read more

Important to note up top: Jacques was out of town on a buying trip when this happened, so I can't say he has any clue about this situation. Short version is: I bought a "tsavorite" from Little Tibet after a couple initial test purchases all under $1k just to be sure they were legit. I come back the next days and suddenly my quest for emeralds has an alternative ready to roll: "a gorgeous tsavorite!" they say, "so much more rare than emerald" they say. I was new-ish at the time to the world of gems and unfamiliar with specifically what to look for to authenticate tsavorite. But I guess the thieves had too good of a story and I got excited and bought it. Here's the real punchline: I'm expert at gemology now and it's just a low quality glass fake. Easily spotted by anyone with more than a couple month of gemology expertise (unfortunately that wasn't me at the time, or I'd have saved myself $4500 bucks for a single unset gem). I spent the last year trying to get some response, before finally resorting to the lame approach of leaving a Yelp and Google review. In lieu of any response from the owners, I can only assume they scammed me *knowingly* - it's just so clearly glass when you know anything about gems, and these guys have been doing this stuff for decades vs. my relatively few years. I even took it to GIA world HQ here in Carlsbad, CA just to be 1000% sure my understanding was correct: it is green glass, it's something a novice gem seller would know just by looking through a loupe, and therefore there's not much jumping to conclusions to say "they knowingly sold me a fake and took $4500 for a piece of green glass". Embarrassing for my ego, but now that I have waited long enough to know they have no intention of doing right by me / refunding or even sending some items to make up for a mistake: it's gloves off time. Y'all get one week, otherwise I'm headed back to Maui with my attorneys in tow. That's it, you managed to get me pissed - and that's not a good place to be my friend. You don't want to mess with folks who drop $4500 on a lark - or anyone for that matter, but it's just stupid to not make it right or even return a phone call. You have my number, and if you "lost it", just respond here. Happy to work things out but the clock is ticking for one more week and that's it. read more

My 19 year old granddaughter and I came in to look at rings. An older man dressed in black with a grey beard and lots of heavy silver rings and necklaces was minding the store. My granddaughter described her preferences and budget. The shop keeper tried to convince her she wanted something else and became increasingly snarky and rude about what she asked for. He was insulting and out of line. What a horrible person. Very upsetting. read more

I bought a ring on my honeymoon is May 2025. After having it for 3 months, it broke. I called and was asked me to return the ring for repair, and I did. I called the store once UPS showed it was delivered (August 2025). The owner stated that he never received it but would make it right. I have continued to call and he has continued to make excuses and put me off. Today, February 23, 2026, when I called, he said he would call me back and (something he said on multiple unvarying but I always had to call back) abruptly hung up. When I called back today after waiting 2 hours, he hung up on me again. I am now out $300.00 and am pretty sure he will continue to hang up on me. I my opinion, he is a crook for stealing the ring my husband bought me on my honeymoon and is now refusing to communicate about a refund. I would not recommend doing business with this store. read more

I was super excited to go in here as I had gotten a piece of jewelry the last time I was in Maui. There's a lot of jewelry pieces and different gemstones. The quality .... I can't really vouch for any more as it doesn't seem to last long as our piece has broke within an hour of getting it. We went back and spoke to who I think was the owner. He wasn't very friendly at all and accused me of being too rough but it wasn't the case at all- I was just tightening the piece like anyone else would. He essentially shooed my friend and I and told us to come back when he fixes it. He was very disgruntled. At this point I just wanted to get a refund a I bought two of the same pieces to match with a girl friend who just got married and another pendant. Didn't offer a refund and unfortunately the pieces left a bad memory along with it. I don't think I'll be back here sadly. Super cool pieces but wouldn't recommend anything that may be dainty or anything not full sterling silver. read more

The man working here is very rude and I would never give my business to someone who treats potential customers like this. I politely asked him if he had any Art Deco jewelry while looking at each table. He started talking then abruptly stopped and said "are you going to look at me or keep looking around?" He was condescending and rude.. ultimately making me feel uncomfortable and wanting to leave immediately. read more

Do not buy from this store!!! The owner, Jacques Perreault, totally conned me! He had a booth at the Maui flea market selling "his own designed and handmade silver jewelry" and he sold me a very expensive (now I know way overpriced) silver and pearl necklace and cuff bracelet set that he said he designed and made himself. He went on and on about how much time it took for him to craft each strand of silver so it was so light, that this was a unique piece I would never find on another person, and that all that personal craftsmanship and time was why he was asking over $800 for the set. I talked him down to $700 flat, but when he ran my card it was $712. I should have known he was dishonest then. So guess me surprise when a month later, back at home in San Francisco I walk by a store importing jewelry from China to find the exact same set prominently dismayed in the store window! Not just similar, exactly the same (see pictures below). I went into the store and asked the owner, who was selling the set for only $600 (in a boutique in expensive SF!), and he not only had several of the same necklaces and cuffs, but confirmed they were designed and mass produced in China. Again, do not buy from this store unless you want to be ripped off! The owner lied and misrepresents what he is s. Update: Yelp took down the photo of the store in SF and the photos of the exact same copies on the jewelry in there because apparently you can't put photos of a different store on another store's review. But trust me I have the photos! read more

Went in with a few of my friends to shop for jewelry. Firstly, there are only silver items available, and the gemstone assortment is subpar at best. The saleswoman was extremely rude, and the first thing she did was ask if I would steal from the store, though she did nothing to insinuate that the other couple in the store would do this. She told me not to touch the jewelry unless I would be buying it, which I would never do, as most of it was tarnished (despite the statement that it was new jewelry). My experience was further ruined by being talked down to by the saleswoman throughout the entirety of my experience within Little Tibet. I found this to be very audacious, as she didn't have the looks to be acting the way she did (to be honest, her hair was shaggy and she looked unkempt). I eventually left the store without buying anything. The saleswoman was not professional and I will not be returning. read more

More than fair prices for the quality of work. Beautiful workmanship and pleasant atmosphere.

I use to go there every time I was on Maui but no more. Without going into detail they accidentally switched a piece of jewelry and when I realized it and contacted them they refused to make it right or help me at all. Terrible experience! The man who claimed the "owner" of the store was very rude. He gave us the price on a pair of earrings. When we agreed to buy it, all of sudden he grabbed the earrings from us, and said he didn't want to sell it to us anymore "because the price is too low". He was the one set the price. So we had no idea what happened and still puzzling about it. It's the first store we stopped by when we arrived at Makawao because the store name caught our attention. We will never go back again. read more

Amazing little storefront I stumbled into during Hurricane Lane aftermath. I cause I needed some spiritual healing and I ended up here for some retail therapy. Saleswoman was weirdly aggressive and demanding for all 40 seconds of my visit. Will not be returning.

Absolutely rude man working the store with long beard. Aggressive sales and when challenged on his overpricing became quite hostile and rude. Save your money and try the jewelry shops in downtown wailuku. Do not support this obnoxious business. read more

One of my fave jewelers on Maui! The father and daughter team up to create some spectacular one of a kind jewelry. I fell in love with Larimar, a rare semi-precious stone found only in the Dominican Republic. The seafoam hues of blues capture the waves of the ocean in little geometric shapes are extraordinary. Mine are set in silver toggle bracelet and earrings. I do have my eyes set on a topaz ring for my next visit. I wish Little Tibet had a website! But then again, I'd probably be broke shopping there. The owner has some of the most exquisite antique jewelry I've ever seen, and I picked up a 200-year-old Indian pendant that has become a familiar presence on my chest. The owner also makes his own sterling silver chains with the most ingenious clasp to accommodate the ancient jewelry (which often have very tiny loops incorporated into them). The price isn't over the top either. Highly recommended if you're in Maui and want a truly unique souvenir. read more

I window shop in Little Tibet frequently, and have a few pieces of jewelry from them. I've always had good experiences with their customer service, namely with a man that works there (not sure what his name is). He's always been kind, helpful, and informative on where stones are sourced and such. All of my interactions were positive until I went in a few days ago with a group of friends to look at jewelry. I told them how much I love all of the pieces in there, and how nice all of the employees were. I was greeted by a woman asking what my age was, telling me that she normally requires parents to be in the shop with kids (I am an adult). After telling her my age, she told me not to touch anything I wasn't sure I would buy, because there has been a lot of theft recently. I would have been fine with her saying all of this if her tone was different, and if she didn't insinuate that I would steal. I walked out right away. read more

I have spent more money on jewelry in one visit to this store than ever before. No, not because they are overpriced or anything of that sort, but because I am in LOVE with the pieces they have for sale (and I RARELY buy jewelry). I was referred to this shop by a few people in response to compliments on the jewelry they were wearing; they showed such excitement when they spoke of the shop and the owner, etc...I just couldn't contain my curiosity. When I finally made it over to Makawao and visited Little Tibet, all my high expectations were met and exceeded. Yes, the pieces are pricey to a girl like me, but the quality and craftsmanship of each piece is enough to justify a buy. There is so much history in that little shop and the lady who was working was excited to tell me about many of the pieces. I can't wait to go back! read more

I was going to purchase two items from the shop. I was so excited to get this jewelry, and then right when I was about to buy it I took a video of the store to post on my social media. one of the employees very strictly told me not to post it anywhere on the Internet. I have already posted the store before online (which a common practice when shopping) so i asked why? I said it might be a good thing to advertise their brand and i'd be happy to mention the store. I had to leave the store because he made me delete the video and was pressuring me - saying loudly "you don't know this business". I understand not wanting to have merchandise photographed but I was not asked nicely.I left the store with tears because I had only wanted to promote them. i've been a customer here for over 20 years, my whole life. i'm an influencer with over 600k followers... for them to tell me I'm doing them a disservice by me mentioning their store is silly. i'm not a buyer and i'm not taking their designs. It's 2021 and people take videos wherever they go. You should have a sign that says "no video or photo please" because I have already taken videos in the store before with my DSLR camera. the video of little tibet has been on youtube for months and the owner was watching me take the video. how should i have known?
