We thought we found our perfect diamond.... until we took it to get a certified appraisal. Andre appraised it for $157,000 but my insurance company wouldn't accept the appraisal he gave me because he isnt a certified appraiser. Guess what? Took it to a real appraiser who sent it off to the Gemological Institute of America .... came back that the stone had a special treatment added to it to make the diamond appear to have a better color that it naturally has. New appraisal $60k. Andre of course has no idea how that happened. read more

There was a problem with the aquamarine stone during the cleaning process (later discovered I had been scammed 9 years ago by the original jeweler Porcello's in Bellevue, WA with a fake stone - came out in 2 synthetic pieces that had been glued together and color was nearly gone as it was dyed!!!). We are lucky enough to meet owner Andre and his superb salesman Seth. Andre was very personable and knowledgeable about all of his beautiful creations. He had me try on a beautiful Sapphire and diamond ring made by him. It was exquisite but unfortunately out of my price range! Seth helped us pick out some other pieces including a rose gold ring for my daughter , a pink sapphire and diamond ring for me and gorgeous blue diamond earrings. We splurged but so worth it! Andre and his team are AMAZING! My husband and I first met them last year when we took a trip to Wailea. Found some nice pieces but weren't able to get it sized in time by the other stores. Literally was on our last stop and came across it tucked back behind a restaurant. Anyway Went in and spent literally 1 to 2 hours looking at rings and chatting with Becky the manager who was helping us. she has the patience of a saint. No pressure what so ever so finally after deciding on one and needing it sized quickly and learning we are staying on another part of the island Becky made a call to her in house jeweler and had it sized for us while we hung out for 2 hours saving us a trip back. I was recently in Maui and saw a diamond tennis bracelet that was exquisite. The color, clarity and diamond cut was outstanding the way it glistened both inside the store and when I took it outside in natural light. I had it shipped to my home on the east coast. I took it to a GIA lab who tested the diamonds and then appraised. It was more than double what I paid. Gemologist told me that the price paid was excellent and a good value. If I could give a hundred stars I would. First met Andre when I went into Greenleaf Diamonds to buy my fiance her engagement ring and wedding band. It was the most no pressure jewelry buying experience I ever had. Andre was very patient and went out of his way to make the ring special in every way. From that moment Andre became like family to us. Next I bought a diamond bracelet, which they had in white gold. My fiance favored yellow gold more. Andre didnt even blink when he had one made in yellow gold and exchanged it. In fact he insisted that I exchange it. After that we brought Andre some loose tahitian pearls we got on our trip to Tahiti. Andre spent hours with my fiance designing the perfect mounts and had them made. They came back so stunning. Recently I bought my wife her gift for her wedding day. It was a pair of earrings and a ring. There were sime perfect stones in a set of earrings and a ring but I wasn't fond of the mounts. So, Andre had them switched out into another mount that I loved. If that's not customer service I dont know what is. Not only is Andre the nicest person you will ever meet, but he takes care of you for life. My wife wears her jewelry daily. She is very hard on her ring. She has broken the prongs on her engagement ring several times. All it took was a call and to drop the ring off and Andre took care of it, had it fixed and sent back to us. He even had a larger more robust mount put on the ring. First of all, I have to say that Greenleaf Diamonds is the only Jeweler to go to when your here in Maui. I can tell you from being in the high end Jewelry business for over 20 years in the Lahaina which sadly is no longer in business.. Greenleaf has taken the reign and I never thought that I would say that about another jeweler, not only were they extremely fair on their prices with no exaggerated inflated price and ridiculous discounts to think your getting a great price they are extremely honest and reputable. I first started working with Amy who is very knowledgable but also understood of our needs and knew that Andre the owner could further assist me in finding us the right Diamond and semi Mount and he sure did! we could not be more happier with his find and his unbelievable selection. We then found out that they manufacture their own jewelry in house which made me think hmm.. maybe he could help me manufacture and match the lost pairs to my earrings and I mean earring(s) 3 pairs in fact which I was heart broken about losing and oh my gosh! they pulled it off he sent them to his manufacture and made the exact duplicates. I was in disbelief.. they really can make and do almost anything your heart desires. I can only tell you from personal experience in the jewelry world that this company is legitimate and amazing to work with. He was so much fun and he and his staff were just amazing as they asked about our trip so far while I tried on jewelry in a no pressure atmosphere. I will say I've been to a ton of jewelry stores all over Maui and not a single one had the quality and uniqueness that Greenleaf Diamonds did. We left empty handed but went back the day we were leaving because there was one ring I spotted but hadn't tried on. We missed the owner but we were so well taken care of by everyone of the staff in there. I tried on the ring and both of us looked at this gold and emerald ring that was to beautiful to go home without. We purchased it and I left with not only memories of the most amazing trip but the best souvenir a girl could ask for. My boyfriend and I wandered into this lovely store in a Wailea shopping center to "just look" as we were just beginning the search for a diamond ring. We were so fortunate to be helped by Becky who spent over an hour with us educating us on diamond cuts and quality. Through that process I gained a pretty good idea of what I liked, and through all this there was no pressure. Becky offered to have some stones we would be interested in Fed Ex'd from their L.A. Headquarters but there was no obligation, so we said sure. When the stones arrived in 2 days we put together a gorgeous ring, but told her we didn't feel like we had shopped around enough to have an idea of what price we should be paying. She whipped out her cell phone and showed us how to Google comparable stones for sale of the same size and quality. We left the store, but did follow up on her tips on how to check out the prices and decided we were getting a more than fair deal. A few texts later, we had committed to the purchase. She arranged for her jewelsmith to set the stone on a Sunday, since we were flying home on Monday, and it ended up being a very lovely, exciting time! CUSTOM RING: My family and I had a long summer trip to Maui last month and the second day my wedding ring took a trip down the drain, never to be seen again. I had come to terms that I would either have to replace it with something different or pay a premium to have it remade since it was discontinued by the chain several years ago. We happened to pop into Greenleaf Diamonds and was given the typical sales pitch that they are different from the others which I gave a quick eyeroll to. Andre, the second generation owner, had just landed from a trip to another location so I was passed over to him. I showed him a blurry picture of the lost ring and he immediately said he had the mold and could remake it at a price that happened to match what I paid over 10 years ago! I was confident it was too good to be true, but I decided to humor him with no money changing hands. The next day, Andre sent me a text with a picture of the wax mold and promised to have it ready in no time. I paid by credit card (again, I was skeptical so I wanted some protection) and he began the manufacturing process. His communication was amazing all the way up to the day it was to be shipped where he stated it would arrive the next day. Just as he promised, the delivery driver was here at 10am the next day and the ring is an exact replica!
