Not unique in itself but in the service. She set the chips down and asked mild or spicy salsa. My partner answered spicy. She poured hers and then asked me and I went with mild. I calmly explained that I had asked for fries and that she had even repeated "fries" back to me when taking my order. Rather than listening, she continued arguing with me and told me she would change it "this one time," as if she were doing me a favor instead of correcting an incorrect order. She took the bag without checking anything and walked away, continuing to give me dirty looks throughout the interaction. I've worked in food service myself, so I understand that mistakes happen. Orders get mixed up, and that's part of the job. What isn't acceptable is treating a polite customer with hostility, arguing instead of trying to resolve the issue, and making them feel like they're at fault for asking to receive the meal they actually ordered. The incorrect order wasn't what upset me the most, it was the complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic courtesy. I hope management addresses this with the employee who was working the front counter during my visit, because no customer should be treated this way over a simple order correction.

He is coming to town Tuesday and he wants to hit El Herradero Carnicera before I take him home. 30 years ago I was in some rural village outside Merida where I got the best chicken I have ever ate. It was simple, just beans, rice, and chicken. That chicken was marinaded in some kind of red sauce and the meat was so tender with a perfect balance of spice. I bought some El Herradero marinated chicken both the red and yellow (I am that Caucasian guy). I grilled their chicken to perfection and am not sure if the red or yellow one is the best chicken I have ever ate. One bite gives me an emotional response. If you like Mexican style meats, this is the place to go in Green Valley. Definitely pick up a couple Rib Eyes and marinated chicken breasts. And be prepared to be AMAZED. Thank you El Herradero. I probably would go back for drinks with friends but this will not be a place I think of when I want a tasty meal.
