There only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 to 11 and 1 to 3. For children ages 2 to 12 years old. When entering you have to check in at the kiosk or the front desk. The place that looks like a large treehouse with two different floors, three slides, and plenty of things to do within the treehouse. The top level with the two big slides are for kids 5 and up Because you have to climb a ladder to get to the second level. There is an area for the kids under two to play with all kinds of toys. Lots of things for kids to play on and play with such as a kitchen with all the fixing grocery carts that seem to be the most popular area. Also, there was a book rack that you could sit down and read a book and comfortable chairs and couches with large Ottomans. Blocks and small basket ball hoop. There is also a kitchen so parents you can get you a cuppa coffee or water or hot chocolate and watch your kids play. They also have snacks for the little ones, there is a refrigerator. The bathroom is in the same area so no leaving the room.

This happened in a play area specifically designed for young children. Thankfully, my child was not hurt, but that was pure luck. The potential outcome here is horrifying to think about. A sharp weapon in a toddler ball pit represents a serious failure in safety, supervision, and inspection protocols. I immediately notified management. While the manager was kind, the severity of the situation felt dismissed. No immediate safety checks were done. No effort was made to notify other families currently playing. I was told "I just don't want you to leave and go tell all your friends that Smiley's is terrible." I'm sharing this not for attention and not to complain--but to bring awareness to other parents. Smiley's stayed open and operating like it's any other day. I will continue to advocate for children's safety and truly hope this leads to real change so no other family has to experience this fear--or something far worse. I'll keep sharing because meaningful change only happens when people speak up.

The cafe is large and clean with a variety of different formats for the children to play in. Having a dress up area, some segmented areas for blocks and trains, and individual "store fronts" was great. Our kids had a wonderful time. The only reason I took a star away was inconsistent application of rules as many children were not wearing grip socks while it was included as a requirement. We were asked to purchase these from the cafe when we checked in... which if it is an established rule is fine, but a little annoying that the rule isn't universally applied. The play cafe is also a bit more expensive at ~$17 per child ages 1-10 with no discount for multiple children (as of Feb 2026) compared to other play cafes we have been to. It also did start getting quite crowded around 10:00 AM and there didn't seem to be an end in sight. Still, it is a nice cafe and I'd recommend it to others looking for a place to take your kids, especially if you can avoid the peak periods.

If you're a parent, you understand that at this point in Winter, everyone in the house is probably going stir crazy and you need a change of scenery! It is located in a strip mall in Carmel. There is plenty of parking in front of the building. We do live on the Southside so it was a 35-40 minute drive to get here. And when you have a toddler, that could make it or break it before you even get there! But we made it thankfully. It was $16.00 per child for 2 hours and the adults were free. I do think that is a high price and was one of the reasons why I gave them 4 stars. The other reason was the drive. For us Southsiders, it is a far drive especially when you have a screaming toddler in the backseat who does not want to be strapped down any longer. They do have a lot for kids! When you walk in, there is a baby/toddler area with smaller toys. Then there is a little drawing area and off to the sides there are plenty of little rooms for different children's needs. Whether they just need a time out, there's a room for that, whether they just want to play music, there's a room for that, whether they just need a dark, quiet room due to sensory overload, yep you guessed it, there's a room for that too. We spent most of our time in the back area with the swings and large trampoline. I would definitely recommend trying this place out! We had a great time and wish we had something like this for kids on the Southside.
