They exceeded all expectations, and I am realizing what childcare SHOULD be like compared to the old daycare. Dogwood excels in the following areas that I find important: Communication: The staff is prompt to communicate on all platforms, through the app, email, and phone. Food: they send out the weekly meal plan, and it's always healthy and nutritious food that my son loves. He's a 99th percentile guy, and so he eats a lot and is never hungry when I pick him up (unlike our old daycare). He probably eats better than me most days here! Staff: I can't say enough great things about the management and teachers here. From the moment we walk in, there's a smiling face at the front desk available to help with anything we need. The teachers clearly love what they do, my son loves them so much. After a year of challenging drop off and pickups with tears at the old place, it's refreshing that there hasn't been a bad handoff since the 2nd week. He even tried to go back in after picking him up he likes it so much. Facility: it's a beautiful facility and CLEAN!! Ample parking, and well thought out. Photos: I have received photos every day, to me this is important as the old daycare I was lucky to get 1 photo a month. They even put little text with it sometimes. This makes going to work and leaving my son at school a lot easier. To summarize this very long review, Dogwood is excellent and my only regret is not coming here sooner. That said, this review is not directed at them--it's directed at the organization, leadership, and ownership behind Oakcrest. We've had two children enrolled here since 2022 and have paid over $83,000 in tuition--never missing a single payment. We've supported the school, told other families about it, and truly tried to be good members of the community. Recently, our youngest was accepted into a new program, and we gave 35 days' notice that he wouldn't be returning. Unfortunately, I missed the "re-enrollment deadline" by 12 days and was hit with a $200 re-enrollment fee. I take full responsibility for missing the cutoff. But what shocked me was the complete lack of empathy or understanding from leadership. No flexibility. No conversation. Just a cold response quoting a handbook. I wasn't asking for special treatment--I was asking for basic human decency after years of loyalty. To make it worse, the communication around this policy was minimal. We received only one reminder in March--no follow-ups, no texts, no push notifications through the app. And yet, they'll call or message multiple times if your child has a mild illness. So it's not a tech limitation--it's a priority issue. Oakcrest brands itself as a "preparatory academy," but at the end of the day--it's a corporate daycare with a polished image. They're quick to run book drives and food drives (which families support), but when it comes to truly valuing long-term families--they've made it clear where their priorities lie. If you're a family comparing child care options, I'd encourage you to look deeper than the branding. Our experience has been a harsh reminder that no matter how much time, money, or trust you invest--you're still just a number on a spreadsheet to them. Disappointed doesn't even begin to cover it.

The staff is excellent, she never had a teacher who didn't connect with her on a personal level and she always received top-notch personal attention. Her development both interpersonally with her classmates ("friends" in the parlance of Goddard) and her readiness for kindergarten was amazing. She was so well prepared that during her placement test for the public school kindergarten she currently attends the teacher giving the test came back after a few minutes and said: "Well that was the quickest test ever. Your daughter already knows everything she needs for Kindergarten." And it is not just the staff. Goddard attracts great kids and does a great job of teaching them. Every day when I dropped off and picked up my daughters I was surrounded by "friends" who would be just as excited to see me as they were my little one. It really is a great community of learners who are nurtured to do their best. I would completely recommend it as the finest daycare (honestly it is more a school than a daycare) in Rock Hill that I have run across and anyone who wants their child to have a successful start in life should seriously consider sending their child there.

The Y's satellite location in the Bi-Lo shopping center is convenient and better than most think…read more Though it looks small and less than appealing to most, the satellite Y has everything you need for a good workout. The main room houses enough free weights to accomplish just about everything except Olympic lifts. There is also a good variety of machines to use. The satellite also houses a studio that is used for a variety of aerobics and strengthening classes. The cardio room has over ten treadmills and a variety of cross-trainers and step machines with three large TVs to watch while working out. There are even locker rooms and a daycare here. The locker rooms are just lockers and restrooms (unless you count the sad sauna box...boo!) Overall, the Y on Heckle is a smaller version of almost every other Y. It's old looking, but gets the job done. If you're in a hurry, or don't care about all the bells and whistles, the Y's satellite on heckle is a good gym.

She was very accommodating to what I requested even though it wasn't part of her typical doula package. She met with myself, my spouse, and my 2 year old on multiple occasions prior to my labor to ensure my son would be comfortable with her and her children. When I went into labor around midnight she was quick to respond and was over to my house within 15 minutes so we could head to the hospital. She kept me updated with pictures and schedules while my son was in her care. She kept great track of what he did while in her care so I was able to see what happened while I was away. She even had an extra toothbrush for him to use while staying with her! She sent me photos of my son on various adventures having a blast with her children. I would highly recommend Michelle as a doula and as a childcare provider or sibling doula. She offered me pregnancy advice even though my focus for her services was on having a safe and friendly environment for my son to be in while my spouse and I were away at the hospital. Michelle was professional, easy to talk to, accommodating and loving while caring for my toddler. I would hire her back without a second thought if I needed her doula or nanny services again!

She also notified me, when her family was going to be staying at her house, on the same day as when my son, would be babysat by her. She communicated with me, that there were going to be 'new' people in the house, but that my son would be under her watch all day. I appreciated the information, because she didn't have to tell me, but did. Michelle also, hands out a one page: 'Toddler Report', that tells me what my son ate, what his bathroom breaks were + what his sleep habits were for that day. Additionally, she was flexible with me if my work schedule changed. I would definitely hire Michelle, because, she makes the daycare part of my day, stress free. She has a calming, gentle way about her, but at the same time, detail oriented + professional when it comes to the children she cares for. Thank you Michelle !!
