I was super excited to find a kids barber close to home! My son turned 1 and since I've been hesitating cutting his hair. I looked online and seen that this business was close to home and offered some really cute kids toy rides while they cut their hair. Being that this was my son's first haircut, I was a bit weary. But, when we walked in, it's totally a kids playground! My son walked right up to the toys and it made him feel comfortable. Our go to haircut spot for my son! Location: it's in Waipahu in a mini little shopping area with its own parking lot Ambiance: super cute with little vehicles as haircut seats. There's a train table the kids can play w and a grass photo wall to take pics after. She also gives out candy/animal crackers which is the only way my son will get his hair cut lol. There are also tvs so the kids can watch when they get their hair cut. Service: Viva is always so so nice and responds quickly to appointment requests. I've referred many of my gfs to her and each one was super happy with their kids haircuts. She also knows how to cut my son's hair so it matches his head shape! But the biggest reason I love her and her business is that she sanitizes everything after every single client. My son has super sensitive skin and we've been to other kids haircut businesses where he would break out in rash after they buzzed his sides. I really wanted to like this place based on their reviews and convenient location. Booking an appointment for my kids went smoothly. Parking was easy to find. When we walked into the shop, I greeted the hair stylist and she was very dismissive (no smile, no "Hi" "Hello"). When it was my children's turn to sit on the chair, she just pointed and didn't say much the entire time, which was so awkward. When it was time to pay, we said "Thank you" and still no words from the stylist. I'm not sure if she was having an off day or just doesn't conversate, but I think if you're in a business with children, you'd want to be a little friendly. Just took my almost 2 year old son for his 1st haircut. Texted the morning of to see if there was availability and they responded very quickly about 1 spot being left. Shop is easy to find with easy parking. When you walk in there are books and toys for the kids to play with. The hair stylist was amazing! You have to text to make an appointment which I did VERY last minute yet she had an opening the very next day for my son. We came in for a 12:15pm appointment & was pushed back a bit which I did not mind at all.. Brought my toddler in to this place a couple times. The lady barber was really nice. The inside is clean and organized. Cons would be that at least twice we scheduled appointments and once she double booked and we had to wait about an hour extra the other time she was running like an hour late. Mind that they aren't usually busy but another parent stated the same appointment time and another was before and the barber was behind schedule but it's kind of weird that there were parents with the same appointment time schedule. Secondly I would've thought they would know most haircuts and styles but she didn't know what I meant by a certain fade haircut. Overall I would bring my child here because the prices are reasonable and it's clean and the barber is nice and can cut for the basic styles. Located in Waipahu is a hidden gem when it comes to keiki haircuts. We use to go elsewhere however our 2 year old daughter was always scared of the different hairstylists. We use to slightly dread haircut days for her as it was always a challenge to entertain her even with screens and going to other child haircut places. The first time we went we were pleasantly surprised because the owner and main stylist made not only us but our daughter very comfortable and she enjoyed getting her haircut. She didn't cry at all and little royalty cuts was very efficient fast and did a great job making it look so effortless!! A professional through and through. The cost was affordable and comparable to outside. Flash forward and having gone at least three more times since then not returning to other businesses, our daughter is comfortable getting her haircut here and happy ! The quality of the cuts are great and the vibe of the shop catered to kids all the way between the toys to pick out and train track as well as their selfie wall for nice pics. I wish I got the owners name but she was amazing! She's so patient and easy to talk to. I was afraid of how my son was gonna be, especially since he moves around alot but she was able to work around him. I dont know much about boy styles and haircuts so I asked for her suggestion and it came out great. It was near nap time and he went into full on meltdown mode when Viva had to buzz his hair. I found out about this place through Facebook & Instagram. They just opened about a month ago in Waipahu across the street from Festival Marketplace. Only about a 5 min drive from home for me, so we gave it a try. My 2 year old was entertained by the Train Play Table while waiting his turn. There was also 2 TVs playing Disney Pixar movies. Heading into this appointment, I was a bit nervous. My kid is that kid who cries and screams bloody murder at all the appointments-- doctors, dentists, & haircuts. But surprisingly, this was the very first time he did so well during a haircut! I was so happy and relieved. They gave him animal cookies to snack on, so that definitely helped. I looked all over for the best barber salon and came across LRC. I saw all the great reviews and was able to book an appointment a few days ahead of time. They're easy to find and the parking is free and plentiful. Upon entering we were greeted and seated immediately and my daughter played with the train table while her brother got his hair cut. Viva worked so quickly and although my son screamed the entire time, she worked diligently and carefully. It took about 15-20 minutes total and he looked great! We came here for our first hair cut for my 2.5 year old. Viva was patient, understanding, gentle and fast! I really thought my son would like the airplane seat but felt too shy to let go of Mommy. Our stylist was very understanding and let him sit on my lap. There was a TV with Frozen playing and that initially distracted him. She explained the buzzer is going to "tickle" and he was fine until it touched his head. It wasn't his first time as I was cutting his hair at home and buzzing. She quickly distracted him with a Lollipop which stuff the trick for the rest of the cut which was pretty quick. I think total was under 15 minutes!!! To top it off she let him pick a toy at the end. We absolutely had the best experience here. I texted to make an appointment for my daughter's birthday. She needed a trim before school started and always talks about going to the salon. I inquired about the birthday package that can be bought during the week of child's birthday and surprised her with it on her special day. My son is 2 and this was his first haircut, so of course because of that I was a little worried he would not like it at all and that someone would have a hard time cutting his hair. I wanted to find a kid dedicated salon, that had the best reviews so went to Little Royalty Cuts & let me tell you during the haircut even if my son was crying and trying to squirm out of my hands I felt so comfortable with the woman that cut his hair I am so sad I didn't get her name! She was so quick with working and even if he moved around so much her work was still so precise! You can definitely tell she does this as a passion because she is good at what she does. I love the space too - perfect for kids they have a small play area, offer lollipops for the cryers and good ones too! and even have a little goodie treasure chest with little trinkets because we know kids love toys! We don't live here on Oahu (here for a while to care for a family member) but I definitely will be bringing him back before our time here is done to get him cleaned up!
