My daughter went crazy when she walked into the store and found a nice selection of NeeDoh!

This little local toy store is a gem. I have adult children but we frequently go to this store just to browse and always end up with something. We buy games together here for family game night as well. It gives an old fashioned feel with the hardwood floors but offers so many little curiosity's, it's just a blast from past kinda feel. Of course the staff is always friendly as well. Stop by and check it out no matter what age you are. I guarantee you will not regret it. read more

Little Roots Toys - My daughter shopping on her birthday at our favorite store. - Toy Stores Near Me - Sonora, California

This is one of the best local businesses in the whole town! I adore Little Roots Toy Shop. The owners are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet and they are always so kind and helpful. The shop has a wonderful selection of toys, games, children's books, and more, all at reasonable prices. I particularly love the partnerships the shop curates with local artists, gamers, crafters and creators. This is a welcoming and friendly place where you can find a community of fun-loving, accepting, and helpful people. read more

I grew up in New York City. Believe me! Toy stores and hobby shops were a big part of my young life. Over the years, these businesses have gone downhill. Nice toy stores are hard these days, but Little Roots lives up to its old time expectations. read more

My granddaughter and I went in to your amazing store. She loved all your stuffed up animals and all your toys. Thank you for having us.

Downtown Sonora is a real gem with great places to eat, drink, and enjoy, Little Roots being one of them! When we vacation we always let the kids choose ONE, and I mean ONE thing to take home. Since they can't read yet, it's usually a toy of some kind, so when we heard about Little Roots we knew this would be the stop for that. The selection here is expansive with options for all ages, right up to the adults. Baby and toddler toys are located in the back with action figures, table top games, licensed toys, and more from front to back. There's even a huge selection of trading cards and a room to play your game next door. I loved all the board games they offered and I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable pricing on all of it. The staff was super helpful too! One kiddo chose a Bakugan (admittedly a cool toy) and the other chose a game which we played a few times before bringing it home. I loved the little play area at the back of the store too. My younger son had a blast while the older brother was picking for himself. read more

Pleasantly surprised to find a store that sells so much MTG! And I get my puzzles here, they have soo many cute ones. I also really like that they support local creators in one area of the store, very cool of them. read more

The best toy store ever. The owners are an awesome part of our community. Plus, pets are allowed!

Good vibes in this shop. Nice selection of Magic the gathering and DnD items. The smoothies are so yummy! I got a health potion smoothie and my partner got an amethyst angel smoothie. The staff was really nice when we visited. read more

My grandmother took me here 30 years ago when I was a kid and the toys were always higher quality than any of the big box stores or Toys-R-Us. I stopped there with my toddler recently and got him some of his first toys and thankfully the selection and quality is still just as good. They have a lot of brands and games I had never seen before and it's great to see an independent business in a small town thrive for so long. read more

They have an amazing selection of Funko Pops very reasonably priced and ones id prob never be able to find in the city (bay area). They have a ton of super cool and interesting toys and plushies too!! Highly recommend! The people working there are also super nice. read more

Great service and I only go there for their retro section every time. It's got a lot of stuff compiled in that little section

Winter update - They now serve soup in addition to the smoothies to suit the season. Again, only good things to say; employees & owners are incredibly nice & the soup is as delicious and healthy as it is affordable. So glad to have this company in Sonora. read more

Nice local toy shop. Not many around anymore, glad to see they were open. Good place to stop, wide variety of toys to choose from.

Charming, fun and full of a giant variety of developmentally appropriate toys. You can tell the owners are passionate about children and creating magical atmosphere for them to explore. There's a cute little indoor playground for little ones. Sometimes I go in by myself because it's so relaxing and inviting. read more

Basically the only place we buy gifts for babies & kids. Toys, books, and cute clothes and accessories for all ages. No it's not where you'd do your back to school shopping but getting a unique birthday or baby shower gift they are perfect. Also they have a great play area in the back to stash you kid in while you shop. They have all price ranges from $1-$200 so anyone can find something. And they gift wrap it for you on the spot for free. Best part is this is a family owned business & they have children of their own so they are 100% real people I've had to ask to "borrow" a diaper or wipes on a couple of occasions. I will spend $20 on a single item here any day then a bag full of cheap toys from a big box store for $20. read more

Very cute toy shop with a lot of fun, unique items! My son really enjoyed checking everything out and using their mini shopping carts to pick out a special little toy. We will definitely return when we're visiting the area again. read more

My go to toy store for wood puzzles, learning toys and children's birthday presents. A unique selection of quality toys and games. My children love to visit and marvel at all the shelves packed with eye catching merchandise. I pray this store stays in business for a long time! The best toy shop I've ever visited! Fantastic selection of board games, stuffed animals, books and wood toys. Very high quality. The prices are really reasonable too! Also they have several toy play areas to keep the kids busy while you shop. The reading room in the back of the shop is a dream! My kid loved playing with all of the toys and the seats and tent were such a wonderful idea. I can't wait to bring my kid back here again! read more

This toy shop is both charming and unique because it's full of better quality toys for a good price than I've found elsewhere. We ended up stocking up on a ton of wooden toys and other fun gifts for our son who is 11 months old. We even got him a baby grand piano there! A lot of the toys are locally handmade by artisans in the communities within and surrounding Sonora, and of course it's nice to know you're supporting the actual residents of Sonora instead of the usual big corporations. The shop is owned by a lovely young couple with a beautiful little girl. They will chat with you and the husband will show you all about whatever toy you're interested in, it's so helpful. I highly recommend this toy shop! read more

The family that owns this shop is lovely! A unique addition to downtown Sonora that I alway choose to go to first for gifts for the little ones in my life. I suggest you stop by if you are downtown! read more

Found the absolute best stuffed animal for my 6 month granddaughter. An adorable Organic Farm Buddy stuffed rattle pig named Penny. Awesome little shop with alot to look at. Would have rated a 5 stars but the young man behind the counter made us wait to pay while he talked about video games with another customer that had already paid. Other than that, great store and product. read more

Love, love, love this place! They have so many wonderful wooden toys & a sweet little space for the kids to play while the parents shop around! It's well organized and super cute and fun to hang out in. Super clean and clear & the process aren't bad especially for the little boutique niche they serve. If you are passing through Sonora you do NOT want to miss this little gem! The owners are super chill & have kids themselves which is so clear from their awesome selection of toys: Melissa & Doug, Unique locally-made toys, games, travel-sized crafts, etc. Finally, a cool local toy store in Sonora! read more
