I thought I reviewed this place years ago after I came in twice on one business trip and also stopped in a couple years later for the hamburger salad while stuck in traffic on another trip but I guess I didn't. The hamburger salad with pickles and fries in the salad is one of my favorite meals of all time! I don't seem to have a photo of it on my current phone but I would HIGHLY recommend it! I also got mac and cheese probably 8 years ago. I hope they still have that too!

this place was nice! it's a small resturant and parking is pretty limited. the food was great! and our servers were very helpful when we requested for extra sauces. we ordered a chicken and cheese wrap, which contained buffalo sauce. it's not pictured, however, it is very heavy on the buffalo sauce! all of the food was great! they used the chili on the nachos which we did not mind! it was a pretty big serving for what we expected since it was under "little plates". the burger was slightly overcooked. we requested medium well but instead received well done. no complaints i would definitely come here again!

Outside view from front. Entrance on the side

Came for a bday party PARKING - they are in a little strip mall on route 7 in Wilton. A good amount of spots in the back if the front is full ENTRANCE - the main entrance is actually on the side of the building. We were greeted by a hostess who finally got us to the party table. But seemed very disengaging MENU - kind of a limited pub and grub list. Mostly burgers and sandwiches. There was a beer menu with many choices. Very eclectic with many options in a few categories. I'm not a beer expert but you'd like it if you were. APPETIZERS - the table tried the spring rolls which were very good. The nachos on the other hand were pretty bad. Chips over baked. The toppings were oily and also over heated in the oven. Entrees - the burgers were decent but nothing to write home about. Side orders of fries were quite good. Not greasy and crisp. Someone tried the fish and chips which were good but looked over cooked to me. SERVICE - our waiter was very nice but was dealing with many tables. After ordering it was a while b4 we saw him again. AMBIANCE - it really does look a little like an English pub. The kicker was the London red phone booth outside - a nice touch. DESSERT - it was a birthday so we had our own cake. TAKE HOME - I found it strange that you had to bag your own left overs. PRICE - pretty average for pub and grub fare. Most entrees were in the $16 range with $2 extra for gluten-free buns if you need. The appetizers were also in the $15 range so maybe a tad high but not a show stopper OVERALL - I find it an OK place but that's about it. Not sure why folks rate it higher.

I had only been to the other location, which doesn't exist anymore. Went with a big party and they all loved it. Will be going back, because the menu sounded so good and I wanted to try everything.

We had a wonderful lunch here! I started with a delicious chicken tortilla soup that I loved! It was thick, rich and spicy, flavorful spice not hot spice. Just perfect! We also got a giant pretzel with cheese dipping sauces that was crunchy yet soft on the inside. Yum! For entrées, I ordered the southwestern chicken salad and my friends got A cheeseburger salad, and A ranch crunch wrap. my southwestern salad was really delicious with avocado and crunchy tortilla strips. The cheeseburger salad was tasty with a perfectly cooked burger on top and a nice thousand island dressing. The wrap was overstuffed and really tasty with crunchy chicken, tater tots and avocado. Our waitress was a doll, really efficient and friendly. We loved her We will all definitely be back soon!

Buffalo chicken burrito

We came after a recommendation from a local hotel we were staying at. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The food was fantastic! I had the buffalo chicken (burrito), even though I'd call it more of a wrap. I've been craving a good buffalo chicken wrap and it was fantastic. I wish I took another to go actually. We also enjoyed the burger trio. It was PACKED for lunch on a Friday afternoon and that's telling you something. The acoustics aren't great, I felt bad that I had to ask the waiter to repeat himself a few times since I couldn't hear him but he was great. I would absolutely come back when we're back in town.

We decided to try O'Neill's tonight for a PTA charity. I'm glad we went, because I was starving and wanted a corned beef sandwich. I must admit I was a little hesitant when I saw the sandwich and that it look like two big, thick pieces of meat. When I bit into the sandwich, I was transported someplace else. The sauce, sauerkraut all melded together, nicely. I'm trying to save some for lunch, but it's becoming difficult..LOl. Let's say it tastes the way corned beef should taste! My guys had a ceasar salad and fish and chips which were quickly gobbled down. The ambiance was sports bar-ish. The Met game was on. We did take out. Service was great and the server was able to take Apple pay on his device right there. We received our food quickly, as it was pretty packed in there.

A Place That Feels Like Home…read more The Spotted Horse Tavern was a fantastic find. My brother, who lives locally, recommended it, and I'm so glad he did. I've been there twice now, and both visits were memorable for all the right reasons. The lobster rolls were excellent, the craft beer selection on tap was outstanding, and everything was served with a smile. One of the things I love most about the place is the atmosphere. It's a charming old home that has been beautifully transformed into a restaurant, with plenty of character and a warm, rustic feel. The moment you walk in, it feels comfortable and welcoming. The service was exceptional both times I visited. In fact, a few months ago I tried to stop by again, but the road was closed for pedestrian traffic only and parking was impossible to find. We ended up going to Little Barn up the road instead, which was also a great experience. Later, I discovered that both Little Barn and Spotted Horse were created by my high school classmate, Kevin M. What a small world! Nice job, Kevin. I had no idea you were in the restaurant business, but you've clearly built something special. Regardless of that connection, Spotted Horse stands on its own as a wonderful place to enjoy a meal. Great food, excellent drinks, friendly service, and genuine hometown hospitality. If you're in Westport, treat yourself and stop by. Chances are you'll leave already looking forward to your next visit. Cheers!

I would not recommend eating the raw fish items on the menu. The service is workmanlike. Just ok. I also saw staff drinking alcohol while on duty here one evening, which was a bit off putting. I know this happens in the hospitality business, but at least be subtle about it. They were not.

Selling food and drink to take home in the front (along with a few seats for pints) and mostly drink in the back, I love a good grocer-pub and Moran's is one of those such places. Don't disappear, please don't! The pub pulls a fantastic pint of Guinness, likely because the keg is directly under the bar and the beer travels very little distance into your glass. It's really amazing how wonderful and different the Guinness is when it's fresh and poured correctly. The bartender when we visited was very generous with information about the area and entertained us with stories and chit-chat about local events and the economy. These are the moments you remember from a trip somewhere: a quality drink, a quiet bar wrought with history, a friendly local shooting the breeze. Simple connections and simple pleasures in life that sometimes get lost in the shuffle of busy days. The pub has done quite a bit to make itself marketable to football fans, with a large collection of team scarves and paraphernalia draped over the walls. Unfortunately I was not able to stay long enough to catch the vibe in there during a match. In short, a lovely stop, and probably the most worthwhile of them, during our stay in Westport.

First off-the owners are so FRIENDLY and kind--you can talk to them about anything and they are happy to answer questions about any of the food and/or drinks. You can tell they love owning this place and meeting customers. I have heard so much about the Pub and went for the first time yesterday with two friends. We had one of their rotating cask beers and one of their bitter regular casks which is a staple of the establishment-each beer was delicious and tasty! I had the vegan curry dish which was very tasty with veggies, rice and great spice. My friends had a dish similar to Shepherd's Pie but slightly different and cooked with more like steak stewed meat rather than lamb and we all licked our plates clean LOL. We also shared two of the desserts which were vanilla ice cream with some type of coconut cookie in it and the other was vanilla ice cream with a yummy type of strawberry sauce I think. The atmosphere is so laid back as well-like traditional British Pubs you order your drinks and food at the bar and they deliver your food to your table with a number. You are able to sit wherever you would like and I hear it gets very packed for European football games. I can't wait until I get a chance to go again-there aren't a ton of food options being that I don't eat red meat-but I was able to find the curry and could also try the Fish and Chips which looked amazing and I have heard it is great. If you are in the area-stop by for a drink or two and you will not be disappointed-you feel like you are transported to England with these type of pub.
