The space is very bright and is playing traditional music and dance on multiple large TV screens. The music that was playing at the restaurant, did not appear to be the same thing that was on the TVs. We liked our food overall, but I'd say the atmosphere lived a little bit to be desired. Plus, it definitely smelled of smoke for most of our meal. If you're going to stick around, get the Cakor sampler and the calamari.

She let me know it would take about 25 minutes, but honestly, I didn't mind at all. In my mind, that just meant it couldn't get much fresher than that! When I returned to pick up my order, there was still a bit of a wait, but for good reason because they were BUSY. I am delighted to announce that I have finally tried the neighborhood-famous short rib egg rolls. As much as I wanted to get another order to go, I decided to be nice and save them for others to try. Next time I am totally getting one to-go so that I can extend the magical experience. They run them as a special often since they're so popular, if they have them-- get them. Orrico had awesome specials going on but I was in the mood for comfort classics. They still uphold, in my opinion, the BEST chicken parm in the neighborhood. The chicken is not dried out, the texture is perfect and the sauce to cheese ratio is on point. We also ordered the sole franchese. That dish is so light, fresh and classic. Last but certainly not least, the short rib egg rolls are just so good. Fried perfectly but not oily, the tender shortrib, the awesome cheese pull, the rich brown gravy. Truly, a masterful creation. I always knew that service and food were great but what I didnt know was that they are also mixologist! Usually I would just get wine but every table around me were ordering martinis and they looked great so I ordered a classic dirty. Perfect amount of olive brine and nicely balanced. Everytime we go visit we leave with leftovers and I still have the feeling of looking forward to my next visit. In our neighborhood they are a diamond-- great establishment. When I arrived, I was excited to see the 2018 Michelin rating sign. We were seated without a reservation since our visit was a little impromptu. Long story short: Our food came out in 40 minutes AFTER I had to get up and grab the waiter's attention to figure out what's going on. My son asked twice to leave because we were just sitting there watching the table next to us receive multiple courses. This is a big deal because my son barely speaks... so for him to note things were taking too long is what really upset me. The waiter paid us NO MIND. I was literally trying to catch his attention and he would keep his back to us and never checked in during those 40 minutes after the initial drink. Even when I ordered two entrees, the waiter recommended we order one and split it (I said no because there's no harm in a to go container). When I received the food, each entree was only the size of a regular take out container. This made me wonder if maybe he thought we weren't financially worth the effort. THEN he was not the one to serve us our food or even give us our check. THE WAITER DESERTED OUR TABLE. It was only the Latino staff that served me and apologized. Honestly? It hurt; I'm a Black mom taking her visibly special needs child to a restaurant. He deserves fun experiences and I will always try to give him the world. I was proud of him for being well behaved. But as a mom, the level of disappointment and anger can not be measured. He didn't deserve that treatment and I hope he doesn't deem it acceptable.
