I was devastated when this place closed a few years ago, and was pleasantly surprised to find out…read morethat they reopened! I went there on a Saturday and it was the same quiet, peaceful place it's always been. You can get so much work (or studying) done there, especially with the free and speedy wifi. They have comfortable chairs, outlets for your electronics, and clean bathrooms. They also have a separate children's room. And the view is nice also, and it's completely free! This is the kind of place I'd give a big donation to if I were in the position to do so, but they do have a donation jar, which I will make sure to add to next time.

When I first discovered the Troubled Sleep bookstore, I was elated: any bookstore but especially a…read moreused bookstore opening - and just a few blocks away from where I live! - was great news. And I found a book I'd been craving - an out-of-print selection of DH Lawrence letters with an intro by Aldous Huxley. The place was cheery and inviting: I would at that point have said "Definitely 5 stars!" But then I heard that the owner is at least partially stocking his shelves by removing books from the local "little libraries" where people exchange books. These are meant to offer free books to passersby! They are NOT meant to be snatched up and sold at a profit! They are a beautiful example of people taking steps, however small, out of the business world. I will not return to Troubled Sleep unless I hear that the owner has sworn off this method of getting books for his store.

There is no problem stopping here on this slow street to browse the library. Exterior and interior are very good and they have a light inside which is cool. Two shelves are neatly stacked and almost full. Today's content was mostly children's books, paperbacks and one hardcovers. The paperbacks look like beach reading material. I'm sure you have all seen the little free libraries all over your communities. I typically see…read morethem in front of houses or businesses on walkable streets. If you're not familiar, the little free libraries, are little cabinets that resemble little houses, inside you'll find books. You're encouraged to take a book and also leave book, for someone else to find. You might find kid's books, cook books, college textbooks, whatever someone might be willing to part ways with. Well the other day, I was at the Connecticut Post Mall, in Milford. When I came across the Little Free Library. This is a physical location, just like the tiny ones, where you can take a book and leave one. There is no one working here. They have a rug, some comfy chairs, and adorable art work on the walls. This is all targeted towards little kids. I was here with my friend. She found a book for her son and I found one for my class. We didn't take any of the books because we felt guilty that we didn't have any to leave behind. The little free library's mission is to have books accessible to everyone, everywhere! This is such a wonderful way to encourage readers everywhere to keep reading!
