The stone wall that surrounds the cemetery was erected in memory of Major John Davidson, a signer of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, May 20th, 1775, and his wife Violet Wilson Davidson and their descendants. Erected by Edward Lee Baxter Davidson. Homestead built 1788 and burned 1886. All of the graves have dates from many years ago. The tall obelisk denotes the final resting place of Robert Davidson, 1769-1853. Next to it, John Davidson, 1735-1832 and Violet Wilson who signed the Resolutions to Committee of Safety in 1776.
