Normally, this kind of decoration feels cluttered and tacky to me, but for something like a random LFL in Newport Beach, it's perfect. When we came to take and leave a book, we found the collection to be quite extensive, well organized, and clean. This LFL's owners definitely take pride in their neighborhood.

This Little Free Library is like no other one I've ever seen. Because it's not one, but two on the…read moresame property. The one I saw first was right in front of the sign. Front and center. And packed with lots of good reading material for kiddos about the age of the ones that would attend school here. It's also perfectly positioned to be a benefit to the community at large. The second was perfectly placed for the little reader headed into the main school entrance. It was right next to the gate by the front office. The selection here was a little lacking but my hope is that's because it's got so many kids finding their next amazing story right as they walk into school. A double-barrelled resource for the eager readers of Lancaster. Ooo, and I almost forgot the little fairy doors at the bottom of each LFL. I mean you gotta have a place for the fairies to come in and out! Awesome!!

On the back the Brownie Girl Scout Troop put their hand prints on it. This little free library is open all day everyday and is stocked daily with new books for any and all to take. You can also bring the books back and swap them out for other books. You can also donate your own books to this free library. Hope the community utilizes it. Although most of the books are children books there are adult novels in there occasionally as well. What's better than promoting reading...nothing except free books!!!

So absolutely beautiful…read more This stunningly appealing home with it's fairy garden and it's raised beds and copious flowers is an inspiration for what my own home might one day look like. They could have skipped the Little Free Library and it would still be amazing and wonderful and an asset to the neighborhood. The inviting, well stocked LFL makes it just a little bit better. It's a small library in the shape of a cat, it sits in front of a private home and is well stocked with a diversity of books. I had a brand new book in my trunk so I made my trade. This little library is nestled deep in a Silver Lake neighborhood. I wish my neighborhood had something like this. We lucked out with parking since the street is a narrow residential street. If you do visit, keep in mind you're in a quiet residential area. You can always park your car by the Silver Lake reservoir and take a short walk up .

Like the pictures show, it's creatively shaped like a black cat, sitting just behind a white, picket fence. It's got little cat quotes from Charles Dickens and Leonardo da Vinci neatly scrawled on it in blue paint and a penatgonal door with two latches. Its two shelves were packed with a pretty diverse selection of books, including a few for children. I left a copy of T.C. Boyle's "Riven Rock" and picked up a curious volume on conspiracy theories. I'm a fan of the whole program, and it takes guts to put your address out there the way these little library owners do.
