Beautiful Fall Vibes, Donut Win, Food Truck Fail…read more We visited McKenzie Farm for their Mctoberfest event and had a great time overall. It was super busy, cars packed in everywhere, long lines to get in to pay for the things we bought and for donuts. But once inside, the fall charm made up for it. There was no admission fee which was nice. The apple picking was peaceful with no lines and perfect for photo ops and enjoying the day. We got lucky with hot, fresh apple cider donuts that had just come out when we paid and they were absolutely delicious. The apple cider slushie was refreshing, and I grabbed caramel popcorn to go. Big downside: we waited 20 minutes in line at a food truck only to be told they had to shut down because they ran out of food right when it was our turn. Major bummer! That said, the weather was beautiful, the energy was festive, and the free entry is a big plus. Worth visiting, just go early, expect crowds, and maybe pack a snack!

On September 21, 2026, my fiancée and our friend visited Beans & Greens and purchased multiple items from the business. They also placed a food order and were given a pager. They then waited for more than 40 minutes for their order. During that time, they repeatedly asked staff members about the status of their food. Multiple employees instructed them to continue waiting. Meanwhile, they observed other customers arriving, receiving their orders, and leaving while their own order was not provided. After waiting more than 40 minutes, it appeared that their food order had either never been entered or had otherwise been disregarded. In addition to the unusually long wait, both described the manner in which staff interacted with them as dismissive, patronizing, and disrespectful. They felt they were being belittled and treated as though they were less deserving of attention or service than other customers. Both my fiancée and our friend are Asian. Neither of them normally attributes poor customer service to race, and neither entered the situation expecting or looking for discriminatory treatment. However, because of the combination of their order apparently being ignored, repeated dismissive responses from staff, and other customers being served while they continued to wait, both left the business questioning whether their race or ethnicity contributed to how they were treated. I am submitting this account in good faith. The factual details described above are based on what my fiancée and our friend experienced and reported regarding the incident. Moore Farm has quite a selection of herbs and Kim Moore, the owner and her associate, Sara Woods Kender, are certified herbalists. She can work with you to replace the OTC items you are taking and replace them for natural remedies and her prices are very good. She also sells delicious cupcakes and baked goods and there is a lovely gift shop as well. I'm not sure alot of people are aware of this place because it's a little off the beaten path, about 1/2 mile behind Alton Hannaford and McDonald's. Kim Moore is super sweet and an amazing person - she is a gifted medium and shamanic healer - I highly recommend a reading, Reiki or Shamballa session with her. Moore Farm conducts herbal apprenticeship certification classes, has teachers and readers that come in on a regular basis, offers therapeutic massage and bodywork sessions, and much more.
