This is the place where I usually get my dentist appointments. It is so amazing! This facility makes getting your teeth pulled out fun! My dad and I go here and get Dunkin Donuts afterward. I love how all the rooms are themed and have amazing artwork on the walls. The waiting room is cool too! I also like that there is a movie that plays while you get your tooth cleaning done. One time when I got a cavity, I was taken to a room which was space themed. So cool! After your appointment is done, you get to take a prize from the treasure chest! Then you get a bag with a tooth brush and everything in it! I just love this facility and recommend it for kids 3 -12. 5/5 for this review! :)

Shine Pediatric Dental located in Round Rock, Texas definitely OUTSHINES the rest!…read more I was SO impressed when I took my 3 year old gbaby, Kai to his dentist appt for a regular checkup (on Thurs., March 26, 2026) that I just had to share my feedback & pass along all of their shining qualities for anyone else who might be on the hunt for a pediatric dentist for their little one(s). Here are just some of Shine Pediatric Dental's (SPD) shining qualities: - - - AWESOME pediatric dentist (Dr. Sarah) & hygienist (Autumn) - - - Both Dr. Sarah & Autumn are highly skilled & were very patient w/ Kai. Autumn did an amazing job of explaining each step to Kai in a way that his toddler brain could understand & helped him not be afraid as he was getting his teeth cleaned, flossed, & x-rays done. - - - very kid-friendly throughout the office - - - I loved how calm & inviting the office is for both the kiddos & adults. The decor is very modern & brightly colored (see pics included in this review) In the front waiting area there is a large, light-up sensory peg board for the kids to enjoy & a super cool, interactive projection of the world displayed on the floor that also changes to a game that the kids can play with (see the pics & videos included w/ this review showing Kai having so much fun! ) In the treatment area there are tvs mounted on the ceiling above each chair that your child can watch their favorite show or movie on to help keep them calm & relaxed as they are laying down in the chair. Hope this info helps!

Dr. Sarah Severson and Dr. Lexi Severson are sisters. Shine Pediatric Dental is a family affair,…read morewhile their dad mannies Dr. Sarah's five month old on site! Dr. Sarah Severson used to work at Austin Pediatric Dentistry until she started her own practice. Both Austin Pediatric Dentistry and Shine Pediatric Dental are excellent. You can't go wrong with either. The only difference between Dr. Lucas and Dr. Sarah Severson is that Dr. Sarah S. called our lactation consultant following our appointment to give her an update. I thought Dr. Severson was really thorough. Our lactation consultant wanted us to get a second opinion so we saw Dr. Sarah S. at Shine. Both Dr. Lucas and Dr. Sarah S. came to the same conclusion and advised us not to get a tongue or lip release for our three month old son. However, Dr. Severson took it a step further and said the next reevaluation period would be 7 - 12 months, if he continues to have short gag reflex with solid food. Dr. Severson also advised the next following reevaluation period would be at 3.5 years old, if he starts talking like Elmer Fudd. "Be vewy vewy quiet. I'm hunting wabbits." She was a lot clearer than Dr. Lucas on next steps and milestones to watch out for. She's very thorough. I also learned from Dr. Severson that my son's tongue tie is shorter and thicker than average, where as Dr. Lucas only mentioned his was further back.

I was so amazed at the care and kindness that they put into each of their clients. Usually you are in and out pretty fast when you have a scheduled appointment. Your children get to watch their favorite Netflix show while they getting their teeth cleaned or worked on. In the waiting room they have a TV with Netflix and video games area for your kids to keep themselves entertained. My family's experience here has been great and I highly recommend this place for kids.

The office was extremely clean and super kid friendly. The front desk staff was helpful and professional and I appreciated Edith's patience with me in setting up appointment for my twins while they were being loud in the background. Jade Dr. Shau's M.A was extremely friendly and so sweet to my girls. Dr Shau the same thing. He was gentle and patient with my daughter since she did not have a good experience with her previous dentist. I appreciated the fact they took her to a smaller room to make her more comfortable and allowed for her to sit with me while the doctor examined her carefully. I felt so comfortable from beginning to end and am happy that I found a doctor/office my girls can be excited to go to. Thank you!!

Caution! The boilerplate they make you sign in order for your child to receive any treatment gives…read morethem broad rights to all of your child's medical data and imagery. They can share for scientific or teaching purposes at will but also have very broad "publication" rights with no limits on monetizing your child's medical data without any further notification or approval from the parent. If you object to that clause they will simply cancel the appointment, if you want your child's private medical data to remain private they don't want you as a customer. To me, any business that is that adamant about having rights to the patient's data is a business I don't trust with said data. Edit to add: I see the business owner responded to my review with a generic "we adhere to all HIPAA regulations". While technically true, by requiring all patients' guardians to sign the release or refusing treatment they are requiring all of their customers to "voluntarily" (as a prerequisite for service) give up significant rights granted by HIPAA. So yes, they are following HIPAA but doing so by requiring their patients to release them from complying with important confidentiality rules that HIPAA provides them (thus nullifying significant portions of HIPAA that they are choosing to comply with). Quite a misleading response and again indicative of how important it is for them to have rights to your data they otherwise would not under law (HIPAA). This makes me very suspect of their motives as it would be simple to just change the policy and make giving up your rights under federal law optional (they refused when asked). Further, if their desire for those data were truly for rare and exceptional cases (e.g. they've spotted a rare cancer during a routine imaging) then they should absolutely be communicating with the patient's guardian about that rare case and it would not be a significant burden to then ask for permission to share those data at that time. In my opinion it is clear that they want to collect blanket rights to all data they collect and I'm suspect of the motives for any business wanting those sort of rights to children's medical data.

These aren't automated either, it's an actual human who responds promptly. The office is gorgeous. The waiting area has a great toy section for kids and comfortable seats for the adults. The rooms themselves have cute themes - there's a "beach room," a "safari room," etc. We also really love the dentist. He's very professional and incredibly calming with the little ones. It's a shame we can't use this place for our kids' regular dentist appointments because of their absolutely exorbitant pricing. A standard teeth cleaning with x-rays costs $386. A quick search on Yelp shows five other pediatric dentists within 5 miles of this one, so I called all of them and got a price quote on the same service - full cleaning with x-rays. One did not answer the phone, one quoted $293 per kid, one quoted $100 per kid for the 1st visit and $256 for each visit after that, and the other two both quoted $175 per kid. Destination Pediatric is wonderful; it is not twice as good as their competitors, so charging twice as much for their services is absolute insanity. I hope they change their pricing to be more competitive because we would love to return to them.

They let the kids touch the tools they used and showed them what each one did and is used for. They do a wonderful job with everything from start to finish. Been taking both kids to Little Smiles since they were in elementary school. Due to not being in network for my insurance, our last appt in January 2024, we were told and shown that our daughter had 5 cavities and the estimate would run around $1500. Dr. Jenny jokingly asked, "Do you drink Starbucks drinks because if so, we tend to see cavities in teens due to sugary drink consumption." I sought a 2nd opinion at my adult dentist knowing the cost to get them addressed would be lower, given they are in network since Little Smiles is not in network for us. To my surprise, x-ray films sent over and evaluated by my adult dentist discovered that my daughter had NO evidence of ANY cavities whatsoever--nor the beginnings of ANY cavities. In shock, I asked if they were certain. A second set of x-rays were taken to confirm and ease my mind. Again, ZERO cavities. Had I not sought their care to reduce cost, my daughter's beautiful adult teeth would have been drilled and modified for no reason. I warn everyone as I too had been warned that dentistry can be notorious for recommending unnecessary treatment to make a profit. My daughter had a friend who experienced something similar from Little Smiles. Unfortunately, this discovery ended my respect and my relationship at Little Smiles Dentistry in Cedar Park. They have a fun office with friendly staff and all but sometimes that can cover up lucrative practices if you as a consumer are not vigilant. I'm fortunate that my circumstances resulted in preventing unnecessary dental work for my daughter's adult teeth. We go twice per year for regular checkups and the next checkups at our adult dentist confirmed--STILL ZERO cavities whatsoever this past January 2025. Both of my daughters have been cavity free their entire lives so far and we hope to keep it that way. My advice, get a 2nd opinion if you have the time especially when it involves your child's permanent teeth.
