Kids went there routinely 3 times a year up until it was time to go adult dentist. Got to the new dentist and found out they had multiple cavities and issues. Mentioned this to the office and they were very nonchalant saying the dentist is liberal on his approach. Im not a dentist but a cavity is a cavity. The office had the most amazing murals all over the wall which definitely put my son at ease. He's already asking when he can go back for a cleaning! Dr. Bash seems good. Only downside is we waited 25 minutes only to be told that he cannot help my son's chipped front tooth. He did however refer us to a few other places and did not charge us for the visit which was super kind. Everyone was nice! We will be back for cleanings in January :) read more

This is the place where I usually get my dentist appointments. It is so amazing! This facility makes getting your teeth pulled out fun! My dad and I go here and get Dunkin Donuts afterward. I love how all the rooms are themed and have amazing artwork on the walls. The waiting room is cool too! I also like that there is a movie that plays while you get your tooth cleaning done. One time when I got a cavity, I was taken to a room which was space themed. So cool! After your appointment is done, you get to take a prize from the treasure chest! Then you get a bag with a tooth brush and everything in it! I just love this facility and recommend it for kids 3 -12. 5/5 for this review! :) read more

Little Explorers Pediatric Dentistry - Pediatric Dentists Near Me - Round Rock, Texas

I hate to poorly rate and write this review as Dr. Bash's staff are great, however Dr. Bash is not. My 5-year-old son had been going to Little Explorers Pediatric Dentistry since his first dental appointment. He didn't have cavities or require services beyond the basics. Dr. Bash wasn't flat out rude, but he seriously lacked bedside manner. Which is major as his patients are children. He appeared to be "heavy handed" when doing a physical task. I chose to ignore him because his staff did all of my son's cleanings, with Dr. Bash only coming in afterwards for review, apply Fluoride and conduct parent consultations. On the morning of Monday, August 1st I took my son into the office as I had concerns about his front bottom baby tooth which was literally dangling as the primary tooth came in behind it. Because my son was uncomfortable with pulling it himself, I requested that it be extracted. Dr. Bash's staff explained a local anesthetic would need to be applied (via needle) as well as a numbing gel and laughing gas. Dr. Bash further explained he would extract the second baby tooth as it too would eventually dangle. I was extremely nervous and confused as to why the second tooth which was in-tact needed to be removed in advance of it naturally coming out. I was further nervous as I was told I couldn't be in the procedure room. I scheduled the procedure for later that afternoon and was told after insurance, the patient pay would be $142.00. I spoke with my husband who was extremely concerned (major understatement!). He called Dr. Bash's office and insisted that I be allowed in the procedure room. Afterwards he researched the reviews and found they echoed our concerns. At that point we decided to cancel the appointment and find a different dentist. Today, Wednesday, August 3rd we went to the new dentist who ONLY used a numbing gel. He and his staff had great bedside manner which was comforting to both me and my son. Additionally, the office's policy is for parents to accompany children in the procedure room! As soon as the dentist was certain the numbing gel was activated, he distracted my son by talking and within 1 minute pulled the tooth by hand without tools (again it was literally dangling). He stated the other tooth (which Dr. Bash stated needed to be extracted) would naturally come out. My son left the appointment pain-free, smiling and proud as the staff told him how he "helped" by being brave - smile. Total patient pay following insurance was $54.00. We will miss Dr. Bash's kind, professional staff, however we don't trust Dr. Bash with our son's dental (and overarching) health. If your child needs basic (i.e., cleanings) care I'm comfortable recommending Dr. Bash as he will have little interaction with your child. If your child requires more extensive work, I absolutely do NOT recommend Dr. Bash for all the reasons I previously explained. read more

This was our first visit to the dentist with both kids. My 3 & 5 year olds loved all the character paintings on the walls. The x-ray tech was great with both of them. We were in the ocean themed exam room. Very open & airy. Super fun space for the kids & it was great to have them next to each other during their cleanings. The dental hygienist was also amazing. She spoke directly to my kids & explained every tool she used & what it was for. We had a great experience. My kids actually enjoyed going to the dentist so that's a huge win in my book! read more

I love this dentist! The office staff is so amazing. The waiting area has cartoons, video games, books, and toys. My son looks forward to going so he can play the video game before he sees the dentist! The dental assistants are patient and super sweet to my son. He does not always "participate" in the xray department but every time he gets better and better! Dr Bash is wonderful. My son thinks he is super cool. I do appreciate all his feedback. Front desk personal are pleasant and the hygienist seem to do a good job but I will never bring my children back to this dentist. Dr. Bash twice suggested procedures my kids did not need and presented them as required. They were not needed. Seemed surprised when I refused. He and his in house orthodontist completely missed a major problem with my oldest that will now result in surgery to correct it. I've lost all confidence in this establishment. read more

I took my 10 year old daughter in to get two teeth extracted based on her orthodontist's recommendation. I really wish I had read the other review that talked about their tooth pulling experience before I had taken her in for this. We had been to Dr. Bash before, I've never been very impressed by his bedside manner, but for exams and cleanings the office was okay and his staff is nice, but it's been fine since I've always been able to be there with my kids through the cleanings. However, I was not properly prepared for what to expect when it came to the tooth extraction. I was already apprehensive because I wasn't going to be able to be in the room when they pulled her teeth. Honestly, the room was very small and it didn't seem like there would be room for me, so for that reason I would be okay with it, but I don't know that this was the reason. Since I knew from the past that Dr. Bash's bedside manner (as a pediatric dentist) left something to be desired, I was hesitant, but trusted him, his staff and the orthodontist that referred us to him for the procedure to take the best care of my daughter that they could. When I made the appointment I was told she would be given a topical so then she could receive a local anesthetic and at that point she would only feel pressure, not pain. So, this is what I prepared her for. This is also why I felt that I didn't absolutely need to be in the room to hold her hand. She was confident going in to the procedure and not worried when I left the room. When they were done, Dr. Bash came to get me and said "She isn't too happy with us but we got it done." I didn't know what that meant and as he walked with me back to the room where she was waiting with the assistant I assumed he was going to follow me in the room and explain further, but he just disappeared. I was absolutely shocked when I walked back into the room. My daughter was lying on the table shaking and crying. She looked completely traumatized. It was very extreme and upsetting. She kept saying, "I thought you said it wouldn't hurt" to me over and over again through the gauze in her mouth. The assistant kept insisting it was just pressure, not pain, but I can assure you that she felt pain and was horribly upset by what happened. It took so long to get her calmed down and I couldn't even deal with the clinic or the doctor right then because I needed to focus on making sure my daughter was okay and all she wanted to do was get the hell out of there. She has never had a bad experience at a dentist. She cried all the way home. Granted, she hasn't ever had teeth pulled before, but I don't think our expectations were set correctly. Based on other reviews here, this seems to be something they should expect at this point and should probably offer the option of nitrous. With how upset she was I am appalled that the dentist didn't even take the time to talk with me further and so disappointed that we weren't prepared appropriately. Never, ever will we go back for any kind of service or procedure. If you are still thinking of going here, I would not have anything besides a cleaning or check-up done and I wouldn't put up with anyone saying you can't go back with your child for whatever they are having done, especially if they are very young. I have used this office for five years. It is a real disappointment that they treat repeat business the way they did today. They recommended my son get some cavities filled. My son never complained of his teeth hurting and is VERY afraid of needles. We elected not to get it done. He's now 10 and has lost all but one of the cavity teeth. Yay, right? Three weeks ago I plan three separate appointments today. I took my son out of school to complete them. They called me FOUR MINUTES before my appointment to let me know that they should not have ever scheduled the appointment because they couldn't "in good faith clean my son's teeth" knowing he didn't have his cavities filled. Let me remind you, he now only has one of those teeth remaining and I'm glad they know my financial situation to judge me for not getting a procedure done. I'll never return to this establishment and I'll be sure to let everyone know how they treat loyal customer. It was a very sad disappointment. read more

The Dental assistant and front desk were friendly and helpful. They do not allow parents to go back, which is a red flag for me. In the past I have seen a pediatric dentist that didn't allow parents, however, you could see them in some way. This is completely closed off, you cannot hear or see them. I have some advice for this office, web cam or cameras where a parent to can see what is going on in the back would be a good idea. We don't live in a world where it's okay to hand your child over to a man, who will go in a room and close the door and sedate your child without a parent present. I allowed my children to have their teeth cleaned anyways since they are in a huge room area for cleaning and Xrays. I then went back to meet the dentist and so he could see the children's teeth, he has poor communication and lacked empathy. I have children with Aspergers so that is key. We need kindness and empathy. He was rude when my daughter didn't understand his instructions, and I have a bit of advice for parents who go there. IF he will be rude in front of a parent, can you imagine what he would do when you are waiting outside the room? Beware and use caution when going here. When I looked him up here on Yelp and the review below about him lacking empathy, I bet that review is 100% accurate, and I thank you for leaving it. I wish I would have read it before going here. UPDATE: after the second opinion with a new pediatric dentist, my children had zero cavities and needed NOTHING. Dr. Bash was going to extract 4 teeth and fill 4 teeth...So not only is this dentist rude, he is dishonest and incompetent. He was going to do work to 8 teeth that had NOTHING wrong with them. I was so excited to have a pediatric dentist so close. I wish I could give a review on the actual dentist work, but unfortunately after waiting months for our appointment, we went in and left with no cleaning. :( I felt like the ball was dropped, things weren't explained clearly, and thus, we weren't up for paying well over 100$ for fluoride and xrays. The front desk receptionist was extremely irritated that my husband was even asking the questions, to understand what was going on. We do not work in insurance, so it can be confusing to us. They thought it was ridiculous to even ask for a cleaning without xrays and that is policy there for new patients. Do NOT trust this place with your children. My middle is very defiant when it comes to the dentist, without all teeth being x-rated (only getting front done) they tried to tell me all his teeth were bad and needed to completely cap EVEY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. If I didn't they were all going to rot out! Keep in mind I only saw cavities in 2 of his molars around 4yr. I never went back there, he's now 6 without having this surgery and guess what?! My children have been here twice, for general check ups, they are 8 and 6yo. The visits went smooth and both of my children had positive things to say. My hesitation with more stars is with administration. This group took the liberty of cancelling my children's appt because they didn't receive confirmation from an appt reminder email sent. So i ended-up taking time off work, with 2 children in tow and was left empty handed. There was no phone call to inform of the cancellation, there was no email to inform of the cancellation... just cancelled and a big surprise when I showed up 10min early. There also seemed to be no interest to remedy it or 'work us in'. 'Next patient please...' My children requested to go back because they have video games in the lobby, give prizes after the visit... and because it's next to a couple of donut shops. :D read more

Today my daughter (almost 3 years old) had her first (AND LAST) appointment with Little Explorers Pediatric Dentistry. Upon checking her in I was given a list of the things that would be included in her first visit along with their cost and what I would pay out of pocket. I asked the receptionist if we could go ahead and skip the x-rays. I had no concerns about her teeth and didn't feel that at her first appointment (or at the young age of 3) that she needed to deal with x-rays. I knew it would be a difficult experience with such a small mouth as well. ( I should note that there was going to be no out of pocket cost for any of the services, so it wasn't about MONEY AT ALL). I was told that they REQUIRE x-rays for all new patients. WHAT?!??! How can you be the one who determines IF and WHEN my child is exposed to x-rays?!?! She didn't try to explain anything to me or ask what my concerns were, she just walked off to do something else at her desk. I went ahead and signed the paper and allowed for the x-rays because my daughter was excited about the appointment. As I expected however her mouth was too small for the x-ray tools and she gagged a couple times before they put just the films themselves in her mouth to do 2 out of the 4 x-rays they intended to do. I spoke to both the woman who did the x-rays and the hygienist about my concerns and they said " you can just tell us you don't want to do that part". And then I explained that was NOT what I was told at reception and they kind of changed their story to explain that after the age of 2 they will want to do x-rays and then made mention of bringing C's little brother in for a check up as well. I don't think so...I won't be bringing him there at 2 or BEFORE because I don't like their practices or requirements. As for Dr. Bash, I was really hoping he would impress me and I'd forget my annoyance with their needless policy, but I was again disappointed. He wasn't overly friendly or kid -focused in my opinion. He was actually the least conversational of all of the staff we encountered. As for the office itself, it was clean and there was a cute mural on the wall of the exam room. The lights that the dentists bring down to see the kids mouths have TV's attached to them so that's fun for the kids I'm sure. She got to pick a prize when she was done. Just a bunch of cheap junk toys though. Again, sure kids like that though. The waiting room had some kids books and magazines, but all of the toys were missing pieces and barely able to be played with. Luckily we didn't wait long before being called back. Upon leaving they asked me to schedule my daughter's next appointment for 6 months out. I explained that I was less than thrilled with their "x-rays or nothing" approach and that I wouldn't be back. My daughter hit her mouth with a slingshot rubber band and had a bloody mouth, gums were cut and I wasn't sure if her tooth was broken. It was 4:45pm and I was 2 min. away. I called to tell them I was coming and the girl said "sorry, we close in 15 min. Our first available is tomorrow morning." I told her I just wanted the Dr. to check to make sure she didn't need stitches or anything. Nope, wouldn't see her. So, I had to go to Med Spring next to the dentist office and they saw us right away. I don't believe that Dr. Bash truly cares about his patients health unless he is charging you $ and you have an appt. VERY DISAPPOINTING and I will be taking my kids to a NEW dentist!!! read more

Don't let the bad reviews scare you away! I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews on here about this dentist. But I already had an appointment and I like to judge places for myself. I took my two year old son (who is very shy and not a fan of strangers at all) to see Dr Bash. The dental hygienist was very friendly and did everything she could to keep my son distracted. We were in the ocean room and my son loved the paintings of Nemo and Dory. Dr. Bash saw us next, he did a check up on my son and was very friendly and understanding while my son screamed and cried. My son got to pick a toy from a treasure box and got a sticker! I even scheduled his next visit! I only scored 4 stars because the chairs in the waiting room looked dirty and stained (they probably could use a wash) other than that I am very happy with this dentist and look forward to going back read more

IF there is a 0 rating, that's what I would give them. They are pretty close to my house and thought it would be great for us. Turns out to be a horrible experience. He wants to put 8 Crowns onto my daughter's teeth. When I told him to only fill the small cavities and put crowns on the big ones, he said he is not comfortable doing that. What he is really saying is, that's not going to give him the largest gain. He does not care if it is the best for your kids. Just wants the money. When we disagree and wants to go to a different dentist, he wants to charge me $25 for emailing my new dentist the x-ray, but did not have a code to say x-ray transfer to be printed on the receipt. A sign that this is not common practice. The front lady would code it as "Unspecified Treatment". A sign that they would give you excuses for whatever it is that they want to charge you. They finally added a new code "X-ray transfers" and charge me $25 for it. Stay away from them, Because I am taking all 3 of my kids elsewhere where they have morals and are ethical. read more

I went in not not long ago, I had a great experience. I have two children. A 2 year old, and one year old. It is a real struggle sometimes. It was their first visit, after filling out all the paper work we were finally seen. Dr. Bash and staff were so polite and helpful. He explain everything they were doing to my children. So reassuring. We even got to pick some tooth brushes and stickers. We will definitely be back. If you want a great dentist and a great staff, come here, you won't regret it!!!!!! read more

If you have a child fearful of the dentist or medical professionals DO NOT bring your child here. After many requests to only socialize my child (who experienced a severe mouth trauma only a few months ago) my requests were ignored. I wanted this to be a positive experience for my child as it was only a regular visit, his first dental visit to be exact. We have worked with therapists, pediatrician, ENT & oral surgeon to instill trust and control back into my little eboy. This office visit has set all of this back. He was held down, forcefully had his mouth held open and arms restricted while he screamed. Im ashamed it took me more than 60 seconds to put a stop to it. The assistant and dr both responded that "this is how we perform all procedures and exams here". I cannot believe that a practice that specializes in children think that this type of exam is healthy for any child. Feeling hurt and disgusted!!!!! read more

I have been WOW'D and so pleased with the entire staff at Little Explorers. The ladies at the reception desk are so friendly, the dental assistants are lovely and engaging with the kids and the whole staff is so friendly. I took both of my kiddos there both boys (9yrs and 4 yrs). One has Asperger's- so he is SUPER sensitive and has an anxiety about the unknown. We have been to loads of other dentist who 'said' they had experience with kiddos on the spectrum, but this was the FIRST time I really saw a difference in the way they dealt with my son. They were patient, very gentle and explained each step (sometimes OVER AND OVER for him). He had to have some dental 'work' done-- I was WORRIED about Dr. Bash being able to get through the whole procedure, but they BOTH did well. I am so thankful for their efforts to make both of my kids feel at ease and welcome. Well done! Well done! read more

Be cautious about this dental office. I made an appointment for my daughter based on the good reviews I had read online, boy was I mess lead. I'll start off by saying that the only reason I am giving them a 1 star is soley due to the friendliness of the front staff as well as the xray techs. But my biggest complaint is the fact that after the appointment was complete they came out with a sheet of all the work they wanted to do on my daughters teeth and my eyes were drawn to the non covered procedure- which in my case was the anesthesia they wanted to do on my little one. To make a long story short they will try and say certain things are not covered by your insurance without even submitting it to your insurance In the first place. They are dishonest and I'd highly suggest checking with your insurance on anything they state is not covered. To my surprise after contacting my insurance they covered the anesthesia at 40% but was told that if i submitted it a referral through my medical insurance (being that we are active duty militaty) tricare they would cover it at 100% And this is where the headaches began with this office. If you want things to be paid by your insurance be aware YOU will have to do all the leg work. They won't even take responsibility in helping you with any pre - authorizations. They are a real pain in the rear. I went back in forth with the anesthesia staff (which is a separate intity) and after waiting for the paper work to be faxed for over a week, they hadn't even faxed it. I am still waiting to see if they have faxed over the referral. This place is a real joke when it comes to needing their help with pre authorizations. I'm getting ready to just cancel the appointment due to their incompetence and compliance. I didn't mean to make this review so long but just know they are ONLY looking out for them selves. Our experience has always been excellent at Little Explorers. All the staff is professional and efficient. It's not your typical long wait at a dentist office, and they are always happy to answer all my questions...and I always have plenty of them. Dr. Bash is excellent with the kids! He actually gets them to enjoy going to the Dentist. I was a little nervous about X-rays since I personally hate doing them. But somehow, the staff was able to make it a good experience for both my boys. It is really difficult to find a good pediatric dentist, so I suggest Little Explorers to all my friends and family. If you are looking for a good dentist for your children, you should definitely try them out. read more

We have been going to Little Explorers since my oldest daughter was 2 years old, she's now 5. I have never had a bad experience there. Upon arrival they give you a list of things that are going to be done and the cost that both you and your insurance will have to pay. All three of my kids LOVE the dental assistants as well as Dr. Bash. I've read reviews where parents have said they don't allow you to go back with them, I am always back there with my kids. Not once have I ever been told to wait in up front. When it came time for my kids to get x-rays they were super patient with them and helped them be as comfortable as possible. My son had a hard time with it last year after turning 3 and they were only able to get 2 pictures. It wasn't a problem. This is a great staff and dentist who really care and do a great job with all three of my little ones, ages 5, 4, and 18 months. I absolutely love 'Little Explorer's' I've been coming here since our first born was 6 months old and he is now six and we have a three year old we bring in as well! My son was very nervous about going to the dentist. When he was younger, he injured his mouth and had two teeth removed. The staff at Little Explorers were so great that they had him calm within a few minutes. He made it through the whole exam, and he even helped his younger sisters' with their exams.
