Great food, amazing and friendly service. Got custom smash-burger and large cheese fries, and it was very good.

A little pricey. A little inconsistent in execution. But, it is still damn good eats!

The Devil Made Us Do It!…read more Popped into Devil's Acre for lunch today, located right along Easton Rd in Doylestown. The place has a good-sized dining area with booths, high tops, and bar seating. The staff was warm, welcoming, and impressively patient with my million questions about the "daily specials." Devil's Acre rotates deli, dog, salad, tot, and soup options each day - definitely ask what kind of mischief the chef is up to before ordering. After some back-and-forth, I played it safe (?) with the Fried Chicken Sandwich while he went with the Beef on Weck. We started with the pretzel bites, which turned out to be a bit of a disappointment - six small pieces with a lackluster dipping sauce. Wouldn't recommend. Unfortunately, the main event didn't redeem things. My chicken sandwich was underwhelming, small, and it could've used a good pounding to actually fit the bun. The beef had decent flavor but was begging for an au jus to take it to the next level. Both sandwiches came with chips, want fries instead? That's not just an up charge - it's a full side order, and you lose the chips in the process. All in, lunch set us back nearly $60 with tip, and we left feeling underfed in both flavor and value. Next time I hear the Devil whispering, I think I'll keep driving.

We're talking gourmet dogs and an impressive selection of bottles and drafts. These folks might be off the beaten path for some. It's about one minute from the Lansdale exit of 476. For those technology challenged, your GPS might object to the tiny town of Kulpsville. Use Lansdale and you'll be fine. I made the trip up yesterday for an early lunch and discovered that the shop was run by two very personable and knowledgeable sisters. These ladies know their beer! Expect excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE. I love high ABV brews and I was in heaven here. I enjoyed a Pizza Boy Double and an Allagash James Bean both on draft. We're talking 12%-13%. You need to take it easy with these bad boys. My first dog was called the "Cole" for $3.65. It came with slaw and a spicy chipotle ranch dressing. My second dog was a classic chili dog for $3.50. The chili was spot on and they even added a spoon to my order to grasp the spilled deliciousness. Two dogs and two beers made for an outstanding lunch! If this sounds good to you then get off your butt and make the trip. If you are a beer aficionado this should be DESTINATION spot for you.

I've heard a lot about Coach's from some serious cheesesteak fanatics. I've been meaning to try…read morethem for months, I happened to be in the area one morning. I was excited when I saw they were open at 10am (but would've waited around if they didn't open until 11am). When I went in I ordered my cheesesteak: Cooper Sharp, with fried onions. As I finished saying that I was told "sorry, let me check something. We're serving breakfast until 11 and usually don't have any steak cut." I said no problem, I'll come back at 11am. They told me "don't worry about it, we'll make it for you". That was pretty impressive because I learned as I waited for my food just how busy these guys were with a ton of takeout orders. I didn't eat in the restaurant but it's definitely an option, plenty of tables in a well lit and clean dining room. I grabbed mine to go and made it to my destination in a ten minutes...the food was still piping hot. Now, I was also able to grab some wings since I heard those were good too. I opted for the Spicy Garlic sauce, which in all honesty is probably just their garlic sauce with some buffalo mixed in. No worries, it had a good flavor and there was no shortage of sauce. My only issue with the wings is the size. I'm sure I am in the minority here but I actually prefer small wings, these things are massive. But at $1 each I'm sure most people appreciate this. Now onto the steak. They use sirloin at Coach's and I honestly am fine with either Sirloin or Ribeye as long as it's not full of gristle and cut right. They also use Liscio's rolls which are some of the best around. The onions were cut the perfect size, some places it looks like Ray Charles does morning prep, not here! Every onion cut uniform and not too large plus they're were cooked perfectly. The cheese was evenly mixed through the meat that was seasoned well. Maybe a little too much pepper but at this point I'm splitting atoms. The cheesesteak was phenomenal, so good that you should absolutely make the trip to visit. There aren't many GOOD cheesesteak spots in this part of Bucks county and calling most of the GOOD is a stretch. Coach's is a GREAT cheesesteak spot and worth every penny!

Let's get this out of the way, The fried onions can/should be smaller and the mushrooms got lost in the cheesesteak. But those 2 things don't really matter because this a very good cheesesteak. Coach's uses fresh sliced sirloin. I'm a sirloin fan. They season the meat. It tasted like steak. Good Liscio's roll. Good amount of cheese. I hate to say this because one guy working and he got slammed with orders, would have liked a little better cheese distribution. Gotta love eating by a fireplace. Very clean grill. Bonus video of Ed cleaning the grill. PS who knew Doylestown is straight out of a Hallmark movie?!?!?!?!
