Leo was unwell for several weeks - not eating, not going to the toilet, very tired and just not himself. My mother found Shauna's pet shop online and contacted the page, from there they were so helpful giving us recommendations to try get Leo back eating and back to himself. When we had no luck in getting Leo to eat, they took Leo in to get a better look at the situation and to try get him to eat, they gave us regular updates text and picture/video. They went above and beyond for Leo when they took him in, he still wasn't eating for a few days, they ordered him in critical care food which he had for a couple days until he started eating locusts again. We have no doubt he got the best care he could've gotten because when we went to pick him up after his weeklong stay, he was a new gecko! Full of energy, back to his sassy self. They also helped us out with a new vivarium set up which he is so much happier in. If you are looking for great, affordable animal care this is the place!! Thank you to the team from Leo, Kate, Olive and Kieran xx

We recently boarded our 11yr old golden retriever with the DSPCA in Rathfarnham. She was there for…read morea total of seven nights and when I picked her up I knew immediately that she was not well. The first thing I noticed was the incredibly bad smell coming from her to the extent that all windows in the car had to be opened. When we arrived back to our home she started having diarrhoea and I rang the kennels to ask had she been ill while we were away. I was told 'no' she had been fine. However when she went to stand up her back legs wouldn't support her and the diarrhoea was getting worse. I took her straight to my vet and was told she had an infection and her legs had seized up as she was probably left lying in the same position for hours. Jessie has arthritis in her back legs and I was assured she would get regular walks in the kennels which obviously was not the case! To sum up Jessie had to get 3 injections, course of antibiotics and special food plus a follow up appointment. When we made a formal complaint to the dspca we were met with a complete blanket denial of neglect on their part and was never once asked how our dog was or any concern for her welfare whatsoever. I would not recommend anyone to put their dog into the dspca boarding kennels.

After visiting today, I had to walk straight back out and vowed to never go back in. The poor birds in their depressing, empty cages looked so sad and lifeless. They can't even see any natural light. We have been loyal clients of this veterinary clinic for over 15 years -- but after what we've just…read moreexperienced, I will never go back. While we were away on holiday, our 3-year-old dog, Tod, passed away suddenly and traumatically. I rang the clinic and specifically asked for paw prints and hair clippings before he was sent for autopsy and cremation. These were incredibly important to us -- a small way to hold on to a part of our boy. I followed up again the week we got home, just to see if it might be possible to get a nose print too. I was told someone would call me back. They didn't. I had to chase twice before I finally got an answer -- that he had already been cremated (which I understood), but that no paw prints or hair clippings had been taken either. Then came the excuses. I was told UCD "don't do it," that our dog was "never with them," which is completely false -- our friend personally brought him to Anicare. When our friend brought Tod to Anicare (which they told me to do on the phone) he was informed "We dont deal with dead dogs". Not only was there no apology, but the man on the front desk spoke with zero compassion, as if none of this mattered. It was deeply upsetting and completely disrespectful. What made this worse is that we have four other dogs at home. We were terrified something contagious or environmental had caused Tod's death. When our second youngest began showing similar symptoms -- and knowing Tod had died in less than an hour -- we called in a panic. They told us they might be able to see him later that evening. That kind of delay could have cost us another life. Thank God for Village Vets on Clonsilla Road, who took our concerns seriously, acted quickly, and treated us -- and our dog -- with real compassion. They saw him immediately. It was everything this clinic failed to do. And honestly, this wasn't the first time they showed a lack of care. A few years ago, after our cat was hit by a car, I came in to see her body -- and one of the vet nurses laughed and said, "Yous don't have the best of luck with animals, do yous?" That moment has stuck with me ever since, and now I wish we'd trusted our instincts and left them then. If you want a veterinary clinic that truly cares about animals -- and the people who love them -- I strongly suggest you go elsewhere. For this clinic, it seems like money is the only real motivator. We will never forgive how our family was treated during one of the worst weeks of our lives.
