Domino's Pizza - owner corrected pizza from the past (see the difference!)

From easy online ordering all the way to the delivery driver handing over the bags, this was a…read morereally great experience at Domino's in DeRidder. The Chicken Caesar Salad was surprisingly fresh -- crisp greens, tasty chicken, and that perfect tangy parmesan and dressing. They even remembered the plastic utensils, which almost never happens! The 10" Hand Tossed Ultimate Pepperoni (ordered well-done) came out exactly how we like it: great crispy crust and loaded with flavorful pepperoni. Our delivery driver was super friendly, all smiles, and arrived really fast. We snagged the 50% off any pizza deal too, which made the whole thing even better -- it even covered delivery and taxes! I spoke with Erica by phone (hope I spelled that right), who was running the store that day. She seemed really happy and appreciative to hear the feedback, and I told her how happy we were with everything. The whole team at this location clearly has their act together -- quality teamwork like that doesn't happen by accident! Highly recommend.

1 STAR I'm extremely…read moredisappointed with my experience today, especially because I've had this exact issue handled professionally by the owner of this location in the past. I ordered a large extra-cheese cheese pizza, and the original pizza we were handed was very burnt and did not appear to have the extra cheese we paid for. When we politely questioned it, the first employee immediately had an attitude. She took the pizza back, and another employee came to the drive-thru window already seeming irritated about the situation. We were told they could remake it, but that it would "just look the same" because they cannot "determine" how a pizza will look after it goes through the oven. We were also told that after this remake, they would not remake it again. That response was especially frustrating considering Domino's advertises a satisfaction guarantee involving making an order right when a customer isn't satisfied. While waiting at the window, I watched multiple pizzas come out looking overly done/burnt as well. If multiple pizzas are consistently coming out that way, that should be a sign that something in the preparation or baking process needs to be addressed--not that the customer should simply accept a burnt pizza. I'm attaching photos because the difference speaks for itself. The remake I received today is shown alongside an extra-cheese cheese pizza previously corrected by the owner of this same location. The owner has personally explained to me before that the properly made pizza shown in the comparison is how an extra-cheese cheese pizza should look. There is a VERY noticeable difference in appearance, taste, and overall quality. I completely understand that mistakes happen. My biggest problem with today's experience was the attitude and unwillingness to listen. At no point was I rude or disrespectful. I calmly explained that we've experienced this issue before, showed them how the owner had previously corrected it, and simply asked if the pizza could be made the same way. Instead of listening, it felt like our concern was dismissed from the beginning. When the first employee handed us the remake, she passed it through the drive-thru window extremely quickly and immediately shut the window. It gave the impression that she did not want to hear whether there was still an issue or have any further conversation with us. There were only two employees involved in this interaction, so this review is NOT meant to reflect every employee at this location. In fact, the owner himself has always been willing to correct this issue appropriately when I've spoken with him in the past, which is exactly why today's experience was so disappointing. When pizzas are being rushed through like you're herding cattle, quality is eventually going to suffer. Customers shouldn't be made to feel like an inconvenience simply because they politely ask for the quality of food they paid for. Mistakes with food can be corrected. The way you treat a customer who brings that mistake to your attention matters just as much. It isn't hard to remain kind and professional during a disagreement. I genuinely hope the owner sees both the photos and this review, because based on my previous interactions with him and the standard he has personally shown me, I do not believe he would be happy with either the quality of the pizza or the way this situation was handled by these two employees today.

It had a full menu of items to select and what we had was delicious, including an appetizer and dessert. The facility was pleasant, clean and the service was excellent. The only thing I'm sorry about is that it is too far from Austin TX to dine there frequently. If you live in or close to Dayton and haven't eaten there yet ... DO IT NOW. Tuscany is located in Dayton, it is a bit of a drive from Houston but is a hop and a skip for the east side suburbs. It is in a small strip center parking is somewhat adequate. We were greeted and seated right away. Menus and silverware are brought out to you. The menu is very extensive. I went with the Pasta trio which consisted of Lasagna, Manicotti, and Canelloni. My wife and daughter got a Shrimp Tortellini and another Pasta trio which had Ziti. They do bring out some fresh bread with butter and all of us got a salad with a choice of dressing. The Italian and Caesar dressing were both too sweet to fit the flavor of the dressings, they should be savory and not sweet. Tomato Basil Vinagrette was also a choice and my wife indulged in that. Food came out in a timely manner however the plating was a bit small for the trios and you could not tell what you were eating until you actually took a bite. Thought I was dining in the dark for a sec lol. The presentation should allow these distinct Pasta dishes and their shapes be seen and spread out on a platter. It was hard to see due to everything smothered in sauce and melted cheese. The flavor was good on the spinach and ricotta cheese Manicotti, and the Canelloni not only had the standard ground beef but a subtle flavor of Italian sausage and fennel. Overall I was impressed with the Pasta and portioning and would definitely be back to try some Cannolis.

Our server, Vivian, was so personable and knowledgeable. We could tell instantly that she loves what she does! A storm was coming in so we decided to just stay and enjoy ourselves. Over the course of a couple of hours we enjoyed the Firehouse Blonde, fantastic pretzel bites and then fell in love with the Day Wrecker Pilsner We left that afternoon with a growler of Day Wrecker, a t-shirt and a resolve to tell anybody who visits Natchitoches to make sure they visit Flying Heart and ask for Vivian - she's a 10 out of five! I arrived around dinner and searched for a spot a solo diner wouldn't be oout of place. I like breweries and this seemed like the perfect fit. Located in what appeared to be an old warehouse, the space is massive. Normally that would mean poor service, super loud people, and other issues. The last giant warehouse brewery I went to involved getting your own food and barley being able to ehar yourself think. Flying Heart broke that mold. Dining is traditional restaurant style. My server was great. He was friendly, made recommendations, and ensured I had everything I needed. While slightly loud, the place was packed and it was not overwhelming. For food, I decided to try their pizza and was impressed. I still think Bayou Teche beats them brewery pizza wise, but this was a solid pizza. If you are in Natchitoches, I encourage you to come to Flying Heart.
