This was my first time to the Bluffton Wings. I was pleasantly surprised by how active the place…read morewas. From the outside...it looks like a typical Wings. However it never seems like many people patronize this place. On this occasion...the parking lot looked sparse but there was lots of people and fun going on inside. The facility and parking lots are large. Things were organized, clean and Gad the typical Wings decor. Lots of TV's to keep you amused. Our waitress was Alma. She was friendly, prompt and very attentive. She kept the refills coming and checked on us frequently. We started with the fried pretzel bites with beer cheese. The pretzel bits were small and lightly covered in salt. The fried process made the outside a little tough but not greasy. The inside was soft. The beer cheese was very smooth and creamy. The sauce had a nice mild beer taste to go along with the mild cheese taste. The wings were what I gave had before. The bone in variety were breaded and fried. This gives the wing a bit more mass to fill you up. The breading doesn't have a greasy taste. What I don't like is that the sauces are poured over the top of the wings. This creates lots of spaces on the wing that don't get flavored by the sauce. On this occasion I ordered the Tso and Garlic Parm sauces. I love the pop of the Say it isn't Tso sauce. It has a traditional Chinese General Tso sauce flavor. The sweet taste with a slow kick is delicious. The garlic Parmesan sauce is a lot like the sauce your would get at BWW's. This sauce is creamy, light with has a slight cheesy taste. No overpowering garlic taste and it is lowest on the spice level.

Sharing for safety (not my story, but absolutely credible):…read more Last night . . . I just worked a 12.5-hour shift in the ER. Im in Van Wert, Ohio. I'm two hours from home, so I'm staying in a hotel. Exhausted, I decide to grab a bite and a beer before heading back. I went to this local sports bar, walk in, and take a seat at the bar. Before I can even sit down, heads turn, people staring from the left side of the bar. And in my head, I already thinking: "Here we fucking go." But I keep my cool. I ask this the lady to the left if anyone's sitting in the open chair, she says no, so I sit. I'm browsing the tap list, trying to decompress. Not even 30 seconds go by before I hear the same lady say "Trump." A group of about six or seven people are with her are chatting. Then I hear a woman murmur, "Ehh, no. I'd never let him touch me." Seconds later, a man responds, "Well, scoot closer to me then." And just like that, the woman shifts her chair away from me. I'm still trying to act unfazed, looking at the TV playing the Cubs game, playing on my phone, interacting only with the bartender. Then again, from my left, more Trump talk. Someone on the screen is wearing a red MAGA hat. The woman says, "I wonder how they feel about him wearing that hat there." A man replies, "He shouldn't give a fuck what anybody says." She whispers, "We probably shouldn't say this stuff too loud around here. Someone might get offended." He answers, "That's his problem." At this point, I can't even concentrate on the menu. All I can think about is how I've been showing up here, caring for this same community, doing my best in their only ER, and this is how they really think of people who look like me. I'm nearly done with my beer when the couple beside me asks for their check. They stand to leave, say goodbye to the group beside them, and that's when I hear it: "Don't forget your niggers." My heart stopped. Blood rushed to my face. Time froze. Do I say something? Throw my beer? Walk out? Fight? It felt like an eternity, but it was less than a second. My head doesn't turnn towards them. I just keep looking up at the TV. Someone murmured what sounded like a correction and then louder: "I said his Nickers!" And they all laughed like it was the funniest thing they'd ever heard. I sat there, stunned, feeling every emotion at once rage, humiliation, fear, heartbreak. I knew I had to leave. The bartender came back, asked if I was ready to order food. I told her I'd just take the check. I paid. Got up. Walked toward the door. TVs were blasting. Music playing. Noise everywhere. And just as I pushed the door open, someone shouted clear as day: "NIGGER." I stutter stepped, tucked my head down, and I walked to my car in utter disbelief. I sobbed. Sobbed from frustration. From rage. From sadness. From exhaustion. From fear. How is this the world I live in? No one in that whole town knows me. But because of the color of my skin, they felt entitled to break me down. Humiliate me. Push me. Provoke me. Try to turn me into a headline. And you know what? Not a single person in that bar stood up. Said a word. Spoke out. Not the waitress. Not another patron. No one said a thing. And the crazy part? I still had my scrubs on. Not that racists care what you do for a living. But it's just so ironic to me. One day, I might be the nurse keeping them or someone they love alive. And they couldn't care less about my life. So again I ask, Are we great yet?

We haven't been to Wings Etc in several years. We always enjoyed it but just fell off from going…read morefor some reason. We decided to go and see how things have changed. It was not busy when we arrived at 3:00 in the afternoon. Fairly quiet except for the TV's playing. Not a large building, so seating is limited. Took the parents. Dad had never been. The server was very friendly but was the only one in the place serving. Not quite as quick service, given that. Dad and mom each ordered six boneless wings with BBQ sauce and shared an order of onion rings. Husband and I each ordered the Barron Grilled Chicken with a side of onion rings. The Barron comes with mushrooms, bacon and cheddar-jack cheese. I added bbq sauce and pickles to mine. Husband added lettuce, tomato, and pickles. We waited. For quite some time. Dad began to wonder if they had to butcher the chickens. But the food eventually arrived. This is common at this location, so we weren't really surprised. We were in no hurry, so it served to slow the pace of life for a bit. The wings looked delicious as did the onion rings. The Barron? It was incredibly tasty and very filling. We... never did taste the mushrooms tho. Didn't locate any in the sandwich. Still very good. The spicy ranch used to dip the onion rings in is something I'd highly suggest getting as well. A nice little kick to it. All in all, we decided we need to start frequenting it more often. Definitely some very good food and good value for your buck. Definitely recommend.

Yum! Twisted Wings is a contender for best wings in town. They have over 30 different sauces and…read morethey are excellent. They'll let you try samples of sauces. I recommend doing that because their standard buffalo sauce (which was alright) was the worst of the sauces that I sampled. I ordered hot honey wings and loaded fries. The hot honey wings were dynamite. The loaded fries were good too - the fries and seasoning were great and the nacho cheese was okay. The staff was nice and patient with me since I was a newbie. The restaurant consists of a take-out counter so you have to place your order to go, which takes about 10 minutes. They have a couple of picnic tables outside. Chilly Water Brewing is across the street if you get bored waiting for your order. There isn't a parking lot so you have to park on the street. They're open until midnight, but I would feel weird going here after dark because it's not in the greatest part of town.
