It was not the friendly, professional service that I have experienced over the years. Additionally, X-rays were administered to my child without my knowledge or approval but immediately billed for payment. The office staff and nurses are wonderful. However, Dr. Carter has no bedside manners. She is rude and abrupt. I have been taking to Lithonia Pediatric Dentistry since he was one. he is now 4 1/2. This was our first encounter with Dr. Carter and it will definitely be the last. My son was crying as he was getting a filling. The nurse said, " He doesn't like the sound (drill)". I said, or, is it hurting him? Dr.. Carter abruptly says, I've barely touched him. I then say, I just asked a question. She continued with my son for two seconds, got up and left the room didn't even tell me she was done. I had to ask the nurse. Dr. Carter was very RUDE! Called prior to showing up to appointment to confirm appointment. At no point in time was I told that they would be short staff and would I like to wait 45mins per child to get seen. Soon as I arrive front desk checks me in and has me wait for 15mins before telling me how long the wait is because they are short staff. Then when I asked who dropped the ball on this issue. I was ignored. Front desk manager with cat eyes tried to get real spicy with me I asked for her superior number and she said good luck finding it and told me to leave. Then tried to get a tech to push my son on out the building when he was quite the entire time. I had to shut it down real quick. Like you not about to touch my son.Office is ran by black women so I expected better service. Please beware and don't waste your time. Great place for my kids. I lucked up on Lithonia Pediatric Dentistry when my appt at another office was canceled without notice. They were able to fit my 3 kids in that same day. They are professional and have great customer service and care. When my kids are all done they are all smiles. read more

Very patient and attentive doctor attended to my kids with fillings and cap removal. Update: next visit the tech offers an option that is an additional cost however does not mention that it's additional. Businesses should be accountable when their staff generate a cost to a customer without advising its an additional fee. The cashier didn't care and was aware that it's happening. It was my daughter's first time at the dentist, she's 3, and I can certainly say she had an awesome first time at the dentist because of Mr Kelsey - the dental hygienist! It was sooo great with her, I'll be sure to ask for him EVERYTIME we have an appointment, if possible. The dentist herself was polite and greeted us well but she didn't seem as engaged as the hygienist was, had she been that would've put our experience over the top! So I had to take off from work to schedule a filing for my son get there they do a teeth cleaning and then ask when u want to come back after I reminded them what I was actually there for . The assistant in my room tried to push me to reschedule but I had already missed work for this appointment I wasn't going to come again especially because MY APPOINTMENT WAS AT 2. My son has been going to this dentist office for about 9 years. Dr Miller left during COVID-19 and I do miss him because he would come out and speak to me about my son's visit every time and my son has never had a cavity. This is his second visit since the new doctor has been there and I have yet to meet her. On the next visit I will make a point to me the new doctor. Otherwise, I still like the visit. :) read more

Poor experience with the front office the door was locked at the entrance . I called they let us in to the office then the front office staff had no ideal what we were doing there! I explained my son was to get his cavities filled then she started to say the room with the nitrous oxide was down and he did not need this. I explained that we signed the last time we were here and he has had this with previous procedures . She stated they looked in his chart and that was not the case. I then replied that I was in the room with him and he has gotten the nitrous. She also tried to tell me that the insurance did not cover the medication. I stated that is not a problem! They go the procedure started after I explained I had other appointments for the day and I would be late. I needed to schedule a follow up appt I had left my appt book and would call back. When I called back the girl told me I was calling the wrong dental office? In the past I have not had such problems with this practice! The dentist is great. The receptionist, however, is the rudest person I've ever encountered in my life. She is the first person you come in contact with, by phone and in person.
