Four years earlier we did a haul out and were very happy with the work done by Andy and his crew so we returned a second time. Andy was communicative about projects, updated us frequently and was quickly available if we had any questions. His crew did excellent work on our ark including welding, sanding, painting and other necessary repairs. They transported and hauled the boat with no issues and returned it to the slip safely. Five out of five stars for Andy and his team.

Worst I've ever experienced. I was called three times during my workday so they could tell me nothing about the status of my boat being repowered. Nobody knows anything without tugging on the owners sleeve. Poor business model In my opinion and experience. I was also over charged by almost 1000$ over the estimate, which was high. When the estimate included additional labor line to "remove old motor and prep transom" When the motor was already removed. Overall bad experience and I would not recommend them to anyone. They stated they would have it washed before pick up after water testing. They did not, there was trash and debris in my boat from the work. They also changed out my motor mount plate from perfect good factory condition to a POS with their logo on it, without my consent. On top of all that, the new manual for the outboard they installed was tossed in a hatch and water logged. Do yourself a favor and take your marine work elsewhere.

My engine had been underwater from the prior owner, and it was not looking promising. Bill was very upfront about the fact that he would try to "put himself in my shoes" and figure out if it was possible to repair. He took a very thoughtful approach to what he would do to assess whether it was able to be fixed before digging in much further. He was very conscious of not having me spend too much if it wasn't able to be fixed. I was amazed and very pleased when Bill called to let me know that the engine was back to running. Not only this but it now starts first pull, and runs like a top, I have to imagine as good or better than it did new. I have had Marine work done by a variety of folks over the years, and Bill was one of the most thoughtful, qualified, and reasonably priced folks I've met. I highly recommend.

I'm so glad I called Bay Area Marine Services. Luis and Alison responded immediately to my call…read more I needed to replace my transmission and Luis and his assistant were at my boat in 48 hours. Luis is a master mechanic. He's easy to work with and he is most professional. In the end, he had to pull the engine and I was impressed with how carefully he did that. He really knows his trade. Alison cares about clients and replies to your call, email or text in a timely manner. So, you don't have to wait long to hear back from them. In addition to being a great company they are affordable. They don't up sell and when they are there they check out the whole engine, not just what you asked them to look at. I found that most reassuring. They are respectful of your boat and are very clean when they work. I highly recommend Luis, Alison and Bay Area Marine

My boat is a 19ft Wellcraft cuddy cabin. It was having motor problems so I contacted Bay Area…read moreMarine. Luis came out and said that it was bad gas that was causing the problem. I authorized the work and was later informed that the outdrive needed to be repaired or replaced. I was given an estimate and authorized the work. When I got the boat back, I put it in the water and it ran great. When I came out in the morning the boat was half underwater. I got it bailed out and back on the trailer. The boat never leaked so when I confronted Luis I was told that it was nothing that he had done to cause the leak even though the leak was around the outdrive. I was told that it was no big deal because the boat had a bilge pump and was designed to live on a trailer. When I went to start it a short time later the starter just clicked. My guess is that the starter went underwater and is now siezed. I was never told about the leak and now I am stuck with a boat that I can't use or sell. I have had no response from Bay Area so I am in the process of taking them to small claims court. Stay clear of these guys.

**REVIEW FOR SAUSALITO LOCATION**…read more My recent, and rather extensive, experience at KKMI Sausalito was truly top notch. I purchased a boat out of my local area and wanted to accomplish some significant refit work before relocating it to Southern California. The entire crew at KKMI was professional, knowledgeable and just great to work with. They worked hard to stay on schedule and and maintained excellent communication throughout. It's a boat, so there were a few last minute surprises but KKMI managed them well, making sure I did not miss my departure window. Thank you to the entire KKMI team (with special thanks to Project Manager, Mitch) for making a large project as stress-free as possible and delivering a quality result that was proven out on the 400nm shakedown trip home.
