We stumbled across this appealing sheep farm and wool store on a casual exploration of rural Nova Scotia and found out we were hardly alone. Several cars of school kids arrived at about the same time to get a close-up look at sheep farming. This is a working farm with lots of lambs having just made their appearance and a lot of mama sheep nursing. It was a delightful scene, and everyone was invited to pet the little ones. Next door is the wool shop, and we found there a lot of delightful wool items made at the farm. We wound up admiring a lot of the merchandise and buying two attractive wool hats to keep us warm in wintry Connecticut and a skein of wool, all of high quality and quite reasonably priced. They also provide useful easy-to-follow instructions on how to take care of your purchases. Lismore is hardly on a main route, but if you are in this area and in need of woolen supplies it's worth a visit. The kids should enjoy it, too. read more
