Im an actual resident of the area this shop is supposedly pictured at and its not the same…read morebuilding. Problem 1. Google street view it and see it is not even remotely close to the same location. Those here talking about how great it is to be in are not being honest and using reposts of the store front kind of shows anyone whos been here they're false reviews. Don't know why they're using false information here. You need to know the location has a store and has things in it, but by NO means is it anything like what you're told here. MY personal experiences are that its selection is sparce and cramped but it is still a used item store and might have what you need.

I went in, there was some great things, I saw this really cool mirror I might go back for. The people here are always great, most of them volunteer. Support this please.

I have been to several Ontario locations, everywhere from Barrie to Toronto to Bowmanville. The stores are always well-stocked, clean, and 100% volunteer-run (Read: sweet little old ladies and GREAT vintage finds). They don't have great hours, but again, volunteer run, and now that they're open late Thursdays (and Fridays in December!), I'm okay with them opening at 10AM. There is a whole small corner of the store dedicated to golf items, if you're into that sort of thing. They have a TON of books, and a lot of textiles, sheets, table cloths, etc, etc. I always find their small appliances, kitchen items and art to be the best parts of the store (for me). The clothing selection is surprisingly modern mixed with grandmas favourites.

Usually when people ask me,"Where did you get that?!" The answer is PEDVAC! Then I explain where it is, what it's about and why everyone should make the trip. From my first purchase in 1995: three amazing cardigans, two of which I still wear, to my fuzzy boudoir chair and smoke-stained porthole mirror, to my Betsey Johnson lace shrug, to my copies of the amazing boardgames Ratrace and Personal Preferences to the like-new 1983 GWG denim jacket I scored for my boyfriend and my signed copy of The Zucchini Cookbook. These are a tiny selection of the amazing finds from PEDVAC. Since it's a thrift store, everything is incredibly inexpensive and the money goes to help the community. It's rare to leave with an armload of treasures for more than $5. You can fill a bag of books for $1, and there are bag days where you can fill a bag of clothes for $1 as well! Before you leave PEDVAC, make sure to the craft corner, especially the mittens made of old sweaters! The ladies in the community sew them, and I couldn't recommend them higher! I've worn mine through two winters, even dropping them a few times and they still look brand new! They're durable and they're the warmest mitts I've ever owned! In addition to the wonderful volunteers and the always friendly fellow shoppers, there's usually a wonderful brown and white dog hanging out in the store too. She's wonderful if a little timid. She's a great addition to the best thrift store in the world. At least the best one I've ever been to. I send most of my stuff there when I'm done with it too. What goes around comes around! PEDVAC is a treasure trove in the truest sense of the word.

I would never have walked into this outlet location had it not been for my mother, whose bargain-locator nose always seems to be successful in finding hidden treasures whether from Frenchys, Sears, or Stanfields. It's a small little location, with a tiny little entrance which you'd almost miss against the imposing brick of the rest of the factory. It houses "seconds" in bins on the sales floor and "firsts" on racks around the walls. If I was going to be buying underwear (omg am I really writing a review about this???) I'll be honest and say I'd likely be buying something a little more high end and less practical than what they make at Stanfields, but they also have t-shirts, socks, jackets, yoga clothes, turtle necks, lounging pants, and all kinds of other things. Prices are definitely outlet pricing, so it's worth checking this spot out from time to time to see what treasures you can beat my mother at locating. Being that I just had a long drive I suddenly had to use the washroom. I asked a sweet young girl if they had a washroom and she pointed it out to me in the second room. I had picked up a hat (grey beanie for $3.99), I thought my father would be interested in, and he had made his way into this second room. So before going to the bathroom I gave it to him to see if he was interested in it. Later I had made my way back into the first room where I was approached (loudly and rudely) by an older woman not sure of her name however I would say she was in her 50's. In front of other customers she raised her voice "what did you do with the grey hat?" I said excuse me? She said "the grey hat you took over to the other room". I looked for my father who was in the room and asked him what he did with it, he said he gave it to my mother. Mom was also there and I asked her what she did with the hat, she said she left it in the other room. The woman that had been questioning me then raised her voice at my mother asking her where in the other room had she put it. All while commenting to 2 other customers about me taking this hat. She got her hat!!!!! And lost 3 customers... And gosh knows how many others. I'm a 36 year old professional woman who has never been treated like a thief before, let alone for a 3.99 hat at a factory outlet store. I commented to the younger sweet clerk that I felt like she was accusing me of stealing and I was told they had someone steal at shirt there last week. Wow certainly doesn't mean you can treat people like that! Then this same woman came back and was talking to the other customers saying that she doesn't know what it is however she doesn't like having anything out of place!!! (Does she know she works in retail?) Really??? On our way out at the dirty cash we counted 4 coffee cups and 3 pop cans and wrappers... Perhaps she should put those things in there place and concentrate less about being ignorant to paying customers. I do not recommend going here.

I bought two nova scotia beer tab handles and a solid U.S.A. flag. My fiancee got a glass cup and a few other things. I want to come back with my family just to make a visit to this antique store! There was so much selection from anything you can imagine and cannot.

Had such a wonderful experience shopping at Elegant Steps!…read more Not simply because of the absolutely gorgeous heels Nancy and Kaitlyn helped me find--which were not only stunning, but ridiculously comfortable AND half off!! Like, what?! --but because of the undoubtedly amazing service from both of them. Seriously, they went above and beyond. From the moment we walked in, they were kind, welcoming, and wholeheartedly down-to-earth, good people. It didn't take long for us to find the perfect shoes that truly worked with the dress I was planning on wearing to a wedding the very next day. I had actually brought the dress with me to the store, and they suggested I put it on while we hunted down the right shoes to go with it. Even with the heels, the dress was still too long, so Nancy had me stand in front of the mirrors at the back of the store and actually pinned my dress up for me to my desired length. She then walked me through how to use the double-sided tape I had bought from another store just minutes up the road, where they had suggested it as a temporary fix for the predicament I was having. Nancy and Kaitlyn even went a step further and suggested different styles of jewellery and other little touches I could add to make everything pop and work together in harmony with the heels and dress--while also taking into consideration that I wanted everything to work with the necklace I was already wearing, which contains my dad's ashes. Turns out there was a jeweller right next door, and Kaitlyn actually went over and got a sales associate to come help us find jewellery that would complement my existing outfit. They came back with some pretty amazing suggestions, and I'm happy to say I left with a pair of absolutely stunning earrings that not only worked beautifully with my outfit for the wedding, but are something I could honestly wear on an everyday basis. Although it might be hard to recognize from the outside looking in, I'm truly not the type of person who actually enjoys going out shopping. ‍ But they made the entire experience enjoyable from the moment I walked in. I'm just a regular Joe, but that day I was treated like a princess. A princess having extreme hot flashes, mind you--but a princess nonetheless. I would highly recommend this adorable shop to literally anyone looking for elegant products sold by people who genuinely care about the experience you have while you're there. You leave Elegant Steps not only feeling good about your purchase, but feeling good about yourself as well.
