Google street view it and see it is not even remotely close to the same location. Those here talking about how great it is to be in are not being honest and using reposts of the store front kind of shows anyone whos been here they're false reviews. Don't know why they're using false information here. You need to know the location has a store and has things in it, but by NO means is it anything like what you're told here. MY personal experiences are that its selection is sparce and cramped but it is still a used item store and might have what you need.

Additionally, as other reviewers have mentioned, everything goes to charity. Admittedly, the content of the clothing section errs on the geriatric style side but I'm all for it ("Imma take your grandpa's style!"). Upon my last visit I scored some mega cute orthopaedic huaraches and a silk shirt with tropical birds on it (for an epic total of $2.50!). That being said, the house wares here are great and obviously very very cheap. You're not going to find a better thrift with friendlier service.

I have been to several Ontario locations, everywhere from Barrie to Toronto to Bowmanville. The stores are always well-stocked, clean, and 100% volunteer-run (Read: sweet little old ladies and GREAT vintage finds). They don't have great hours, but again, volunteer run, and now that they're open late Thursdays (and Fridays in December!), I'm okay with them opening at 10AM. There is a whole small corner of the store dedicated to golf items, if you're into that sort of thing. They have a TON of books, and a lot of textiles, sheets, table cloths, etc, etc. I always find their small appliances, kitchen items and art to be the best parts of the store (for me). The clothing selection is surprisingly modern mixed with grandmas favourites.

Usually when people ask me,"Where did you get that?!" The answer is PEDVAC! Then I explain where it is, what it's about and why everyone should make the trip. From my first purchase in 1995: three amazing cardigans, two of which I still wear, to my fuzzy boudoir chair and smoke-stained porthole mirror, to my Betsey Johnson lace shrug, to my copies of the amazing boardgames Ratrace and Personal Preferences to the like-new 1983 GWG denim jacket I scored for my boyfriend and my signed copy of The Zucchini Cookbook. These are a tiny selection of the amazing finds from PEDVAC. Since it's a thrift store, everything is incredibly inexpensive and the money goes to help the community. It's rare to leave with an armload of treasures for more than $5. You can fill a bag of books for $1, and there are bag days where you can fill a bag of clothes for $1 as well! Before you leave PEDVAC, make sure to the craft corner, especially the mittens made of old sweaters! The ladies in the community sew them, and I couldn't recommend them higher! I've worn mine through two winters, even dropping them a few times and they still look brand new! They're durable and they're the warmest mitts I've ever owned! In addition to the wonderful volunteers and the always friendly fellow shoppers, there's usually a wonderful brown and white dog hanging out in the store too. She's wonderful if a little timid. She's a great addition to the best thrift store in the world. At least the best one I've ever been to. I send most of my stuff there when I'm done with it too. What goes around comes around! PEDVAC is a treasure trove in the truest sense of the word.
