Hawaiian Chicken with a Crab Rangoon was great! The Club Sandwich and Fries tasted great, too! I decided to take a chance and try the Green Bobo Tea. That was the most unusual drink I've ever had! I think I'll have plain iced tea next time! And there will definitely be a next time! This was our second visit to Lisa's Kitchen--a few years apart. The first time we had lunch--pad Thai--which was excellent! Today we stopped by for breakfast--and we felt like we were at home with mom cooking in the kitchen. Her place is clean with personal touches. If you're in a hurry, you may want to go elsewhere. If you have the time, it's well worth your wait. She does everything from serving, to cooking, to cleaning. Recommend you stop in and say hello. read more

The food was very good but the wait was an hour and a half. She was cooking everything by herself so we waited patiently. We had a group of six and she brought them out two at a time. Some of the group had to leave before getting their food. She is a wonderful cook though. read more

What a treat! We stopped in with our family of six while driving through NE on a road trip. The food was served piping hot, excellently seasoned, with produce straight from the front garden! The mother-daughter team manning the whole place served not only our large family but several other customers during the busy lunch hour with impressive speed, considering she made each dish fresh to order. I got the chicken pad Thai, it had fresh mint, garden vegetables, and crunchy peanuts with the perfect amount of spice and color in the dish. What a wonderful little place to stop for lunch! Lisa is a wonderful lady, and the food is very good. The garden outside of the cottage is beautiful, and each table is decorated with a framed photograph of Lisa's family member(s), which I thought was a cute touch. Interesting place. Food is ok. The reason I visited this place is because of all the great reviews on Yelp and Google I opened my take out to see a container full of BLACK noodles. My suggestion to Lisa - Dont drown the noodles in soy sauce, please. They look horrible and destroys the taste. Everything is prepared fresh and by a single person. So thats something. If you have lived anywhere bigger than Gothenberg, NE, you will find the food to be nothing to talk about. Its not bad but its not great either. its a bit expensive and portions are on the smaller side If you are in the neighborhood, go eat here and support her business. read more

Lisa's is by far my favorite restaurant in town. My husband and I eat here very regularly. Her Asian food is top notch! I highly recommend the chicken pad Thai and pan fried dumplings but honestly everything is good. She uses fresh produce from her garden when in season and everything is always prepared with TLC. Excellent Asian cuisine. Lisa takes your order and immediately cooks fresh food for you. She has dynamite crab Rangoon with a generous amount of cream cheese filling, excellent spring rolls served with homemade sweet and sour sauce, dumplings exactly like ones I ate on a trip to Beijing and hands down my favorite pad Thai. The garlic beef is awesome, the fried rice superb, the szechuan beef delicious. The vegetables are fresh from Lisa's garden, and even the bill is a delight to receive with Jasmine from her flower garden. I live 25 miles away 2 towns over, but love to frequent Lisa's. It's fun to bring our out of town friends to this surprising little octagonal gem in small town western Nebraska. read more

I'm giving it four stars because it was VERY clean on the inside. Lisa and daughter were gracious, excellent a hosts. The crab ragoons were to die for along with sweet and sour sauce . Yum !! Was disappointed that complimentary soup was not included with meal . This was our first experience with Pad Thai- not impressed. To mushy, sweet and soy saucy at the same time. It was not satisfying felt hungry. I'm not a big person btw - 120 lbs girl here. I would go back and try some spicier food. Also way to pricey for such a small meal. Our ticket was $50 and it was only for three people. That was disappointing since it didn't include soup or eggrolls.. Also gardens can use some trimming / upkeep. Almost drove right by, but SOOO glad we didn't. Food made with veggies from the garden, and choices ranging from breakfast to Chinese meant that there was something for everyone. Even after reading positive reviews, we were surprised by the quality of the food. We had the General Chicken and Pad Thai. Both were freshly prepared with sauces that had wonderful layers of flavor, and the vegetables in the dishes were crisp-tender. The place had cleared out after our late lunch and the owner came out to give us a tour of her garden when she saw us admiring it. We will definitely stop again when we're driving across Nebraska. My husband & I are always looking for good, healthy eats along our travels and we were lucky enough to find Lisa's Kitchen on our drive back to CO. Lisa is truly a wonderful woman who knows how to cook up some good food. We picked food off the Chinese menu, which was delicious but there are options for everyone from American food to Chinese delights. If we are ever passing through this part of the country again we will be sure to stop in for some of Lisa's good home cooked meals again. We had travelled all day and had stopped for overnight before continuing on the next morning. We really wanted real food, rather than anything quick or junky. In a small town like this you pretty much accept what's available. What caught our attention was the cute cottage and gardens. Then we saw it was a restaurant. Really? There was one car in the lot so I didn't think it was open, but it was. No customers were seated but we were greeted warmly by an Asian lady. Once we'd stated our intent, surveyed the menu, and place our order, she went to work. We toured the photos and framed items in the dining area meanwhile and learned she was Lisa and had a culinary arts degree from Hong Kong. When she brought our food out, we chatted briefly and learned she'd had her own restaurants in San Francisco and other locations, and that her children and grandchildren were nearby. We also learned my wife's salad consisted of fresh greens harvested from the gardens we'd seen out front! My chicken fried rice was as tasty as I've ever had, and of a generous portion. My hot and sour soup was fresh, hot and sour - and tasty. My wife's sweet and sour chicken was also delicious. We'll be very intentional and stop by again the next visit out to our children and grandchildren. It's worth passing by McD's, etc. for real food. Wow! Who would have thought a little town like Gothenburg would host a little jewel as this! read more
