I always bring cleaning supplies/Clorox wipes along and I wiped down all areas the best that I could, but its not like I travel with a mop. I couldn't exactly clean the floors. The bathroom cleanup I did turned my wipes brown, when was the last time this room was actually cleaned? TV in the room was breaking, which management was aware of. FYI its not hard to replace a cheap tv with a new tv, not sure if management has ever heard of a site called Amazon, they sell tvs and cleaning supplies , just saying. On top of it there was a large group who took over the communal spaces , with lots of small children who they were too busy drinking to parent. The tiny bathtub sized "resort" pool was overtaken by the unsupervised children with giant floats. By a miracle these kids survived their pool takeover, it takes a moment for a child to drown. On top of it these people were slobs leaving garbage, toys, fishing poles, crab traps all over. We mentioned it to the woman working who did nothing about any of it. We left the resort and spent most of the time at the beach to avoid drama and stress , we made the best of it because we couldn't find another hotel with availability to pack up and leave to go to. Overall the place is dirty, obviously mismanaged or management is in over their heads who can know, and there are many other much cleaner places in the area to stay for the prices they are charging. Overall a shame and disappointing.

Towels and soap was provided. Though we didn't use the pool, it looked clean and the grounds in the courtyard were well maintained. Easy breezy check in and check out. When we left, one of us unknowingly left a highly valuable item and we were instantly called to come and retrieve the item. Very honest people! Would definitely recommend staying at Bowen's.

The room, while decorated exactly as described, had a very musty, moldy, almost baby wipe smell to it. The quilt on the bed (while it was very pretty) was actually moist (I'm guessing from humidity) even though the AC was on when we arrived. Fortunately, we brought our own pillows bc their pillowcases were also damp. We were able to open the door to the grounds and air out the room, which I was thankful for. With all the covid info going around, I've started carrying Lysol spray if I'm staying out of town. It was a blessing that I had this, as it helped mask the smell, which was a bit overwhelming. From the way it looked when I was able to quickly walk the grounds, if you're able to score a cabin that is the way to go.

Our accommodation was situated on the third floor, which was ideal, featuring a king-sized bed, a television, and a bathroom equipped with a spacious soaking tub. Each morning, we enjoyed a complimentary breakfast that included eggs, yogurt, fruit, pancakes, coffee, tea, and more. This meal was available in a cozy dining area or could be served in our room. Additionally, there is a small snack area accessible throughout the day. The Inn itself exudes the charm of a bygone era and is well-maintained. The oysters were a bit of a shell shock (little pun humor) with how small they actually were. I understand it's not the best season currently but I don't think a restaurant should serve dime sized oysters that are 85% breading for over 20$, but that's just me. The scallop dish positive was that they werent over cooked but the only flavor I got was black pepper. The beans themselves didn't have a taste even though they were in a sort of sauce. The NY Strip felt like it was cooked first and then had seasoning added after the fact so was very bland. At the end of the day, it was a meal and I ate it as I was pretty hungry. I dont know if it was maybe an off day for the kitchen or if that's the norm for flavora. What I can say tho are that the drinks are very much worth having if you'd like to watch the sunset.
