While the price is seem to be slightly cheaper than other places in the area, please note my word slightly . I live over in the Hudson valley, Westchester County specifically, a more expensive cost of living environment, and 90% of the liquor I purchased here would have been cheaper at home. The staff were very friendly and nice. But their selection is very limited for a place that calls itself "liquor Depot". As far as I could tell they do not carry ultra premiums at all, such as very top shelf gins or any type of craft spirit. Their wine selection seems decent but nothing special, including the prices. One thing that I can say is that I found a MAG of Tito's vodka for a dollar cheaper a bottle elsewhere in Oneonta -- so shop around people! read more

I have been a fan of Liquor Depot for years and attribute my maturing taste in wine and liquor to great conversations and suggestions from the AMAZING staff at the store. "You don't like gin? Well, maybe you've been drinking the wrong gin." walks me to the gin. He turns me on to Tanqueray Rangpur. I trust him because these guys never steer me wrong. I'm drinking a gin and tonic as we speak. And there's nothing pretentious about the staff when they offer an opinion...just a bunch of witty and smart guys who know what's good and why. Dwight is awesome (the owner) -- Somehow he has not only directed me to perfect wines in any price point, but has convinced me to do crazy things like join in on "The Warrior Dash" (an uphill 5K with fiery obstacles). It's his energy! You get talking with that guy and he has you excited about all the good things in life. There's a really nice selection of wines from all regions including a pretty decent NY State section; great selections of tequila, whiskey, vodka, you name it -- from hand crafted to plastic handle. (Also, note the bins of wine for prices like $2.95 at the front of the store. These are often overstocked wines that are pretty decent.) read more

Don't let the name fool you--Liquor Depot is a great spot for finding good and even great wines at fabulous prices. Oneonta has a high demand for alcohol, and of all the liquor stores in town, Liquor Depot reigns supreme. Knowledgeable associates will help you find exactly what you're looking for; this is particularly advantageous because they have also have a better selection than most liquor stores in town. Prices are reasonable and they have everything from cheap Russian vodkas to high end liquors. If this isn't enough, they are right next to the only dollar store around that actually sells everything for a dollar so finding mixers is never a problem, and they are just across the street from Taco Bell, because let's face it, Baja Blast is the best mixer there is. read more

This might be one of the best liquor store in oneonta, but i really dont know at this is the only one i have been too. There selection is good, they have most of your name brand stuff, I went in looking for something different but i dont blame the store this is a small town and i wasn't expecting to find what i wanted . Know why i gave it three stars, I didnt receive great service, i asked for something and was kinda bruched off and told its down there somewere.
