However, after paying for our alcohol, the owner - WITHOUT A MASK ON - asked the cashier to print out a copy of our receipt. Without asking us, he began to dig through the alcohol in our cart to make sure that we weren't stealing anything. At one point, when I mentioned to my cousin that we still needed to grab the ice that we paid for on the way out, he accused us of not paying for the ice and began to count our alcohol again. He claimed that we already had 8 items in our cart when my cousin politely tried to explain that we only had 7 (the 8th being the ice we still needed to grab). After checking our cart multiple times (throwing the cases back into our cart haphazardly), he finally realized that we were right and he told us he'd bring the ice to our car. The entire time his mask wasn't on. I felt too intimidated to ask him to put his mask on and overall just completely uncomfortable with how the situation was handled. This situation could have been handled so much more respectfully. Later that week we had a power outage and my dad ran out to get ice. Lavallette Liquors told my dad over the phone that they had ice but when he drove there they refused to sell him ice unless he bought alcohol. I am so disappointed with the service here. I'm writing this review in the hopes that the owner may re-evaluate how he runs his business.

Bathroom is disgusting never cleaned the help is lazy they stay more on their phone than anything. Bartenders are being watch as if they are stealing. Brian was working, and his knowledge of the wines and alcohol was encyclopedic. I could spend days in Egan's just wandering around looking at what's for sale and admiring the antique decanters on display. I had too much fun and bought too many bottles of vodka. Both requests on a busy Saturday night. Great customer service. Wish I lived at the Jersey Shore--I'd be a regular! Cheers to Egan's.

Garden State Distillery is a family owned and operated establishment run by great folks. They are blessed with great friends and family that help out with the place. Rick is the creator of great bourbon Bricktucky and vodka! Other selection are available too! By his side is his wife Sissy who is a terrific personality and tender of the bar too! ! I remember drinking the pear vodka cocktail in 2022 and was so happy to see it on the menu when I returned this year. The vibe is low key, friendly and very comfortable. We snagged some bar space during the event and our bartenders were friendly, welcoming and were very knowledgeable about the different liquors and distillery. Shout out to Tina and all the mixologists. My favorite one is the pear: pear nectar, ginger beer, pea vodka and cinnamon. I also loved the lychee cocktail. If I had ubered, I would have tried more sadly. They don't serve food but you are allowed to order in and there's even a pizza place right across the public entrance. You can park across the street in the municipal lot for free. if I lived closer, I'd be at the Garden State Distillery a lot!
