Lunch here was good and fairly priced. Beware the ice cream stall outside, the vendor will not tell you before exchanging currency that the exchange rate for euros is a ~20% rip-off. We were able to resolve the issue with the hotel manager but the vendor was then petty and returned coins in the smallest denomination possible (grabbing 20czk pieces and replacing them with 2 and 5 czk pieces) and, as we realized later, used the large number of coins and my own frustration to obscure that she gave me back 23czk less than she should have after my purchase.

beef with cream sauce, cranberry, and bread dumplings

I came here with my friends after seeing their rating. We wanted to try some traditional Czech food while exploring old town. Because it is a hotel, the prices are a bit expensive (160-250 Korunas) I had the braised beef in cream sauce with bread dumplings that was accompanied with a cranberry sauce. The fruitiness provided a fresh aspect to the rather heavy dish overall. I also ordered a side of their potato pancakes because I LOVE potatoes. The side order had 3 pancakes, all of which were crispy and not too salty. I don't think they took us too seriously since we were young so I felt rather dismissed. The restaurant itself is quaint and quiet and a nice break to sit in the warmth after walking around. I felt that I had a quality traditional Czech meal so it was a good experience overall, but I don't think I'd come here again. Once we stepped outside into the square, we noticed a lot of street vendors with hot drinks, food and tredlnik so if you're looking for a snack, that's a better option!

Staying at this hotel, we decided to have lunch outside adjacent to the old town square.

What a delicious dinner in Prague! I came with my study abroad cohort for a welcome dinner and was…read morevery impressed. We all started off with drinks - I'm not a wine person, but the prosecco was delicious and a great wine. While I typically would subtract a star for slow service, as we had some issues with people receiving drinks and appetizers, we were a large group with only a couple members of the waitstaff taking care of us. Overall, I found them very effective. For the entrees, we were given the duck confit. WOW! So so good. It was tender and perfectly cooked, and served with pickled cabbage that complemented it perfectly. It also came with a few potato dumplings which in general are a bit heavy so I didn't finish those. We ended the night with a dessert selection where I along with most of my cohort went with the Misa dessert, a whipped cream-sponge cake filling surrounded by hardened chocolate. It was delicious, but quite rich and I struggled to finish. So, so good though. The rich history of the restaurant is also absolutely fascinating and I'll recommend this restaurant!
