just now I lived in…read morea property in Detroit managed by michigan property managers for 5 years before the landlord decided to sell the property. In my long history of renting, this was by far the worst experience I've had with a property management company. I'd have to wait extended periods to get serious things like the hot water heater fixed THREE TIMES (which could've been the owner's fault), but even something as simple as broken blinds left by the previous tenant presented an issue. I was told I could get my own blinds as the owner wouldn't pay to replace them and when I moved I could take the blinds with me. I did just that and when I moved they tried to keep majority of my $750 deposit leaving me with only $130 because I took MY blinds, allegedly there were no fire alarm covers (they were all in tact, I had pictures) and no light fixtures (again all in tact with pictures) a few holes in walls that were previously there and not fixed (which I noted on my move-in checklist). No one from the property management company did a final walk through with me. I had to hire an attorney to fight this itemized list of damages, which I had to request to even receive a copy, to get my entire security deposit back. I won as I had proof of everything and got my security deposit back. I then moved out in the alloted time I was supposed to, turned in my keys and even provided a forwarding address. I was advised by attorney to check the court dockets to make sure they hadn't moved to evict me, and I find out they had filed an eviction against me! The maintenance guy who went to inspect the property after i moved, informed me that there was an eviction notice posted to the door of the property I had already since moved out of, turned in keys and provided a forwarding address. So, if my attorney hadn't advised me to check the court docket, I would have never known. I had to have my attorney contact the property management company once again to file to dismiss the eviction! I still to this day have an incorrect and wrongful eviction on my record which causes problems anytime I try to rent or purchase a property. It even shows up on my credit report, and I have been told I have to wait 7 years. It's outrageous that I have to fight something when I took all the steps to make sure I did everything right. I've had to hire an attorney to fight things I shouldn't have if this management company had their business in order and actually cared about their tenants. They don't. And don't be fooled by some of the highly praising reviews as some of them were done by their employees as I recognized the names I've had the displeasure of working with like Jay Greenspan who I actually signed my rental lease with, Stefani Greenspan, and Jill Moore who would answer the phone on several occasions. Their unprofessionalism is further magnified by their crass responses to negative reviews. It shows no resolution to fix issues and concerns raised by tenants. Renters beware. And in response to yet another crass and unprofessional response from the business telling me they have no record of me staying in their property, I've uploaded a photo email from Jay Greenspan himself. I'd advise this company to educate themselves on their tenants and the damage they do to people's records.

Only time I got an answer was when I showed up and it was "We'll get back with you". Yeah getting back to me was to email after the lease was up asking when I was moving out. After scrambling to find a new place and living in the new place for almost 2 months I get a court summons about evicting me from the old MPM house. Scott listened carefully to the situation and made some recommendations in-depth. While Scott could not take me on as a client due to conflicts he had a very analytical approach to problem solving. He was also able to refer me to other professionals in the County. This is important as I do not live in Michigan. I think you would have time well-spent if you invited Scott orAndover LLC to work on or review your real estate project. He was referred to me by IREM as one of the few certified professionals in the City.

I bought my first rental property and did not know what to do. Katey helped me through the whole process and now that the house is up and running as an Airbnb she's been so attentive to every guest that has had a question. Sometimes I wonder when she sleeps. Every typical home or guest issue that has come up has been handled swiftly. I don't have to stress at all. I couldn't recommend them more.

Based entirely on our personal experience, we strongly recommend that others think twice before doing business with this company. Throughout our experience, we repeatedly felt that our concerns were not taken seriously and that we were not treated with the fairness, professionalism, transparency, or respect that customers should reasonably expect. On multiple occasions, we felt that the company prioritized its own interests rather than finding reasonable solutions for its customers. One of our biggest concerns was the way unexpected charges and fees were handled. We felt that charges were not always made sufficiently clear upfront and that additional costs could seemingly appear after the fact. From our perspective, it often felt like we had to constantly watch for sneaky or unexpected charges and question what exactly we were being billed for. That experience left us feeling taken advantage of and extremely distrustful of the company. In one particularly frustrating situation, we were charged more than $200 for a plumber to investigate an unpleasant smell in our water that we believed could have been caused by a dead animal. The plumber ultimately did not find anything. Being left with a significant bill despite the issue not being resolved was incredibly frustrating and reinforced our concerns about how maintenance calls and associated charges are handled. We gave Avenue Group Real Estate numerous opportunities to address our concerns appropriately. We were patient, communicated our issues, and gave them the benefit of the doubt more than once. Unfortunately, our experience continued to be negative. At this point, we genuinely regret choosing to do business with Avenue Group Real Estate. Our experience left us feeling as though we constantly had to protect ourselves from unexpected charges and carefully scrutinize everything we were being billed for. Whether intentional or not, that is an unacceptable way for a customer to feel when dealing with a professional property management company. We strongly encourage anyone considering this company to do extensive research, read both positive and negative reviews, ask detailed questions about every possible fee, get things in writing, and carefully review your lease and invoices before agreeing to anything. We are sharing this review because we wish we had been more cautious ourselves. Our experience was overwhelmingly negative, and we would never choose this company again. Based on what we personally experienced, we would recommend doing business elsewhere. As for AG Management, we wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot pole. If you do decide to work with them, keep a close eye on your charges, ask questions about anything that doesn't look right, and make sure you understand exactly what you're being billed for. This review reflects our personal experience and opinions based on our dealings with the company, and we hope it helps others make a more informed decision.
