I wish I could give AG management NEGATIVE stars. I am a property owner and this company never pays me on time. I've left a review previously but the OWNER of the company asked me to take it down and promised to fix the issue. As if not releasing my tenants' rent money to me isn't enough, my tenant has tried to reach out multiple times and cannot get a response. My tenant has now been contacting me and I still don't receive payments on time. This company and its owner are completely incompetent. I can't wait to terminate this contract!! read more

From the start, they denied my application stating there was an eviction in my name, in the state of Georgia (I've lived in Michigan my entire life). After stating they were discriminating as I have a Detroit Address (I was turning my home into a business), they decided to approve me, as I had good credit and could pay the $3,600 deposit. During my time there I fixed everything, paid on time, wasn't late and was "a good neighbor" per my neighbors. I took care of the property. After moving out they charged me $2,500 out of a $3,600 deposit for items that were broken when I moved in, and over $600 for outside "cleaning". They even left me without heat, me and my three children for over a week and didn't offer discount or alternative living arrangements in the middle of the winter. As a prior landlord my recommendation is to avoid this property management company, they do not respond when inquiring for repairs, concerns or issues and their staff turnover generates further issues. I stayed in the home for three years, even the pre-inspector for the move out stated that the home was in great condition. To just take money with fees without having a conversation or doing a review of the initial inspection is unethical. Do not rent any property they manage. I plan on taking them to court, it's not even about the money, it's about principle. read more

As an owner of five rental units, AG Management bookkeeping and records are up to date and accurate. Repairs are always made promptly and with attention to detail. I've never had to deal with my tenants after we hired them as they take care of everything. read more

Not sure what the bad reviews are about. Maybe a past employee or maybe disgruntled renters. Anyhow I've had a really positive experience with Katey and really the whole team. I bought my first rental property and did not know what to do. Katey helped me through the whole process and now that the house is up and running as an Airbnb she's been so attentive to every guest that has had a question. Sometimes I wonder when she sleeps. Every typical home or guest issue that has come up has been handled swiftly. I don't have to stress at all. I couldn't recommend them more. read more

I moved out of my rental house after 2 years because I hated this company so much. AG Property Management does the same exact work a good spreadsheet would do.. Just use the spreadsheet if you can! The spreadsheet won't bother you on holidays. After taking over managing my dead landlord's properties and seeing death as the perfect business opportunity, they cut corners, and hired strangers to maintain the property. They bothered me so many times, it was insane. I had maintenance workers who forgot basic functions of their jobs (like putting the filter back into the furnace and letting it run all day). They bothered me almost every month for awhile with random "surprise inspections" and a "furnace certification." Bad energy all around. read more

Update 3/1/21 Sends unqualified people for repairs which means things need to be re-repaired over and over. Google review from April 2020: AG Management does not own properties, they work with landlords some of which are more of slumlords. If you have an issue, don't take it up with AG Management because there's nothing they can or will do about it but have no issue to continue marketing these properties. They will rent you a place with no working shower or heat with no issues and allow it to go unfixed for months. Do not recommend. Set higher expectations for yourself AG. read more

I rented a property from AG management for two whole years and it was the worst mistake I could of ever made. I stayed because I liked the location. They painted the tiles inside the shower, so it of course started to fall apart weeks after moving in. The master bedroom didn't get heat or cool air. (Yes I checked the vents) so it was hell. And then when I moved out they decided to keep my whole $1,500 deposit because they said they needed to change the whole carpeting. Even though one room had stains in the carpet when we moved in. And Never wore shoes in the rest of the house. I urge anyone thinking of renting from them to throughly take pictures of every little detail wrong with your property because they will over charge you when you move out. Was a tenet of AG Management for 2.5 years. I don't normally write reviews, but I feel the need now. If I was an owner of a property, I HIGHLY suggest avoiding AG Management. They provide zero communication or assistance to their tenets. For example, it took nearly 2 months to get a plumber out to our house. Secondly, when we moved out, we received zero communication, direction or call back. I've sent numerous emails with no reponse. I called their office, they advise they'll call back but never do. They have 30 days to release our security deposit, but we've received no communication regarding this and we're past the deadline. Horribly run company. It is impossible to get a return call. My basement flooded more than 3 inches of standing water back in May. It is not June and we still haven't gotten anyone to come out and fix the damage or treat for mold. The toilet that caused the damage still hasn't been fixed either. So I'm paying 100% of the rent for 1/2 the space and 1/2 the number of bathrooms I rented. My renters insurance won't even pay out for the items that were lost because AG won't return their calls or emails requesting conformation of the flood. Scam artists charge you an application fee but refuse to process the application until the house or apartment is rented out from under you. Its how they keep a stockpile of clients for potential properties and make money off of people who end up looking elsewhere when they cannot get the place they applied for. read more

Viewed 2 properties.... The first one was EXTREMELY overpriced. A complete inaccurate description was given about this property! It was small, the layout was terrible and again it was OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced. Today was the 2nd property....we didn't even make it inside. The parking arrangement was horrible...it was impossible to maneuver in and out of...the location was awful. It looked run down, quite honestly. I've come to the conclusion that I can't trust this company. They aren't honest. I will however applaud their photography skills. The rooms at the first place looked GIGANTIC...yeah, no. If I could give AG Management zero stars, I would. They are absolutely awful. They are nearly impossible to get a hold of to get anything fixed. We had to ask them to remove the lock box a week after we moved in because they hadn't removed it themselves. The doorbell wasn't working when we moved in (was noted in move in checklist) and they charged us for replacing its battery upon move out. No matter how clean you leave the house, they charge you $350 for a "cleaning fee." Upon move out, they charged us for supposedly having ripped the sliding screen door; that screen was put in AFTER we moved in because it was missing when moving in. How can they charge us for supposed damage to a screen when they didn't even replace it after the last tenant?? The back door was so badly damaged that they had to completely replace it, which took weeks to get done! The shower drain was already clogged when we moved in. How is this acceptable? Before moving out, we emailed Chris several times asking when they were going to do the move out inspection. After they were given the green light to enter properties (COVID), he finally responded to us, but still didn't know when he was going to be out to do the inspection. We did not receive any word of the inspection until after it was over. There was an alarm system for the house that my roommate and I decided not to use, so obviously we did not have the code for it. My roommate turned her key in the week before our lease ended. I swung by that weekend to finish cleaning and they had turned the alarm system on!! I didn't have the code, so I tried calling the main number (no answer because it was the weekend), as well as Chris's (property manager) "direct" line and didn't get an answer. I left him a voicemail, which he NEVER responded to. I had to explain to the cops who showed up what was going on. Our lease didn't end until Sunday night at 11:59 PM, so I had the LEGAL RIGHT to enter the premises. I still have not received an apology for that. There were a few things (screen door, $350 fee) that we were angry about and wanted to fight them on it, but at the end of the day, we just wanted to be done with them. So glad that we're out of there and don't have to deal with them anymore. DO NOT rent any property managed by AG Management. read more

Don't bother applying to any of their properties. You'll have to call several times to ask if they need any other documents because they won't bother to call or email you about the process. And when you finally have all of the documents in that they'll need, they'll take days to call you back with an answer. It'll be a no because they make their money off of application fees without approving people that have the necessary income and credit to be approved. read more

NEVER rent through this company. Upon moving into an apartment building in Pontiac a couple months ago I quickly noticed a strong scent of urine in the spare bedroom closet. I contact the management who quickly sent someone to clean the carpets yet it still reeked to the point of my guest noticing. I reached out to them again and was ignored for over a week until I had sent several emails to various people only for management to falsely accuse me of having a pet and refusing to clean it again. I drove 30 mins to their office to complete my application and pay with a check ( no card payment excepted). It took 2 hours at the office to get my information. Finally 2 weeks later we move into the house I agreed on. Two days later my 4yo daughter comes to me crying her little arms covered with red spots. Unprofessional beyond belief!! As a landlord, I had been receiving auto generated statements in blank emails. I had a question about a charge. Shawna and Ashley were not very helpful and aggressively pushed back against my questions. I finally ended up talking to the owner David Moses. What a piece of work that guy was. I'd been to their tiny office a few times, so I knew of him, though never met him. He sits in his glass office with monitors everywhere, obsessing on computer generated algorithms designed to make a few extra pennies. He is completely not a 'people person.' He picked apart my questions like a surgeon, dressed me down and made me feel dumb for asking questions and shouted at me to the point that I had to end the conversation. A couple hours later, he texted me telling me to take my business elsewhere. read more

They randomly change things and ensure that their renters are totally screwed over of their honest money. Speaking to them, wow, if you get ahold of them then consider yourself lucky. One star experience as a prospective tenant. An A rating for run around and zero effort. Hard not to feel scammed with their lack of honest communication and company ethics. Also feel bad for the owners of the homes wondering why their house is not bring rented out efficiently through AG when the local real estate market is busy. Moved 1,200 miles to here. Put in an application at AG for a vacant Berkley home on Oakshire a month ago, on a Tuesday ready to wait there "3-5" days application process. After calling twice they said all the paperwork is put in and we will hear from them "soon." next week arrives..."you are missing the application fee(which we submitted), social security card (provided proof already), proof of income (again already provided in person at their office and emailed them) AND "missing" previous landlord verification (yet they already spoke to him). .. Okkk we were calm and provided proof again being told "some people were on vacation and they can't check each other's mailbox." Another week goes by, told it was "on the desk with Heather and will hear back by end of day." Now week 4; we request a refund by phone and again put on hold. I stop in and was told they would "review it, Desiree is out of town. We don't know what happened, why she didn't call you. My name is Mary and I promise I will call you by noon tomorrow after I find out what happened." "We may send your application fee back electronically." I paid the application fee in cash because while in their office I had that funny feeling not to give them my bank account info. I am glad I did not. And I actually prefer to pay my rent electronically. By the end we counted at least 6+ AG management employees to have a view and handling of my application. Needless to write: We didn't get our application fee back. Checked and They didn't even run my credit report. Just again another reason feel scammed, it just seems like this poor home owner is not collecting rent while AG is collecting numerous $40 application fees telling each person they'll rent to them if you pass all their requirements. It's odd. I could be wrong. Reading their other social media markets does seem like I'm not the only one to have this run around experience with AG management. I was able to find another place while staying in hotels waiting for AG management. It is a completely opposite experience renting with a different local company; Got approved in less than 24 hours, moved in the next and all the items on the move in check list addressed and remedied(all in only 8 days). If I could rate this company a zero I would. I am a current tenant and this has been truly the worst experience of my life. As of this exact moment my apartment has flooded the entire apartment from the bottom of my toilet. I called and of course they are closed for the holiday I could not get transferred to emergency maintenance because it technically office hours. I sent an email and have yet to get a response my carpet is soaked and the maintenance team stated no one can come to my home until 10 am the next day. Last month 2 bedrooms in my apartment lost power and it took them a week to restore power to my unit. When I moved in they forgot they shut the water off so none of the tenants had water for 2 days I am running out of this place as soon as my lease is up. They don't care because they don't live here. Never again, at this point I can't wait for my lease to end I am actively looking for places now this has been a horrible experience that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. read more
