Our Peach Bellini's tasted great and for our entree we ordered the Short Rib Benedict with a side on Pancakes with fresh Fruit. The short rib was so tender and flavorful and the pancakes were light and fluffy, a perfect combo of sweet and salty. As always great service and food, and because of that I'll always come back.

I bought a friend from New York who was visiting and she loved it. She requested if they could make her a Chunky Chicken Salad sandwich, rather than the salad on the menu. They obliged and even gave her a Bleu Cheese Caesar salad on the side. Briarpatch knows how to impress as well as cater to the needs of the customer! I ordered one of my favorites, the Brown Rice Bowl and it was fresh and more than filling for lunch. Various flavored mimosas were enjoyed also. I went again last week with local friends as all three of us enjoy this place (and its mimosas!!) One friend tried the Chunky Chicken Salad on the menu (seasonal fruits and berries with zucchini bread sandwiches) and commented on the presentation (which Briarpatch is also well known for) and the freshness of the fruit. She especially enjoyed the zucchini sandwiches! Her husband ordered the Roast Beef Sandwich as it is one of his favorites on the menu. He devoured every bite of it and was very pleased with the tenderness of the beef and the flavor of the au jus. I ordered the Short Rib Benedict as I eyed it a few weeks back. It did not disappoint! Plenty of shredded, perfectly cooked short rib was on a bed of crispy hash browns. Two poached eggs covered in hollandaise sauce sat nicely on top of this amazing dish. It was heaven! Based on the above, I trust you can understand why I love this place. Outdoor seating, exemplary service each and every time I visit and food that is picture-perfect and tastes outstanding. What more could you ask for?! I highly recommend the Briarpatch!

Diners are a…read morecompletely American thing that started in America as a mobile eatery and has transformed into what it is now, which are stationary eateries that feature affordable, filling food that appeals to the blue collar man. Fun fact, diners were started in New England region of America in the 1850s. All this to say, I love a good diner. I mean the American diner has always been there for middle America. The closest one to me and honestly it's definitely hidden away is the Maitland Breakfast Club. It's pretty much situated on the boundary line of where the City of Altamonte Springs starts. They have large space that's casual and what you would expect for a diner. Anyone can walk in wearing their Sunday best to pajamas. The waitresses are very welcoming and exactly the kind of person I would expect to invite me into a diner. We had gone on a Saturday afternoon and they're not a diner that's open late, so more of a breakfast diner really. Now I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and hash browns. For me, there are three breakfast staples I believe all amazing must revisit breakfast places should have. A good cup of warm regular coffee, eggs Benedict, and good crispy hash browns. I mean some places have other things like lattes and hash brown bowls, and I'm not saying those aren't good. However, when you nail the basics, you can do anything else. The hollandaise sauce was great and didn't split and bacon was crispy. The hash browns were super crispy, which I loved, and I could tell it had been made on a flat top grill, which is another very classic American restaurant kitchen appliance. The cup of coffee was good, I mean they had the sugar packets and the creamers right there. Overall, I would rate it a 9/10 and it set us back about $15 for just my portion. I will be back (said menacingly), Maitland Breakfast Club.

At Roses, this theory stands validated. Returning after a hiatus of over five years, and with the space having transformed from its previous incarnation, I found myself pleasantly surprised. The service was attentive without being intrusive, setting a warm tone for the morning. The coffee was impeccable -- rich, balanced, and expertly prepared -- a true marker of a café that understands its craft. The French toast I ordered was a standout: perfectly crisp on the outside, tender within, and satisfying enough to fuel a motorcycle ride on a bright Saturday morning. The atmosphere is quietly charming -- a laid-back, metro-inspired aesthetic that feels both familiar and effortlessly stylish. It's clear that Roses has cultivated a devoted local following, while also welcoming newcomers with open arms. Located conveniently for a weekend breakfast, Roses proved a worthy alternative after a missed opportunity elsewhere on Park Avenue. For those seeking a quintessential, no-fuss morning meal with great coffee and genuine hospitality, Roses earns a well-deserved two thumbs up.

Second, the service. We waited forever to get greeted and receive waters, and I do mean almost 15 minutes. We never got water refills during the entirety of our meal. And lastly, the food. Paying $7 for a side of COLD, stale bacon was a slap in the face. Again, it was not busy at all when we were there. Also, the rose latte was like drinking syrup.

I'm at Metro Diner here in Florida, and I came in on my lunch break earlier today. I'm a full-time…read morefilm student, I'm also a 20-year retired Air Force member who ran one of the largest dining facilities in the USAF. So when I walk into a restaurant, I'm not just looking at the menu, I'm looking at operations, teamwork, customer flow, and how the place is actually being run. With that being said I want to thank the manager: John Schmitt, my server Dakota as well as the rest of the kitchen & serving staff. Today, Metro Diner surprised me in a major way. They were busy, and it did take a minute for my food to come out, but the team stayed on it and got it to me. That matters, because busy isn't the issue, how you handle busy is the issue. For my first order, I got shrimp and grits. I don't eat pork, so I asked them to leave the sausage out, and to make sure it wasn't cooked in with it. They respected that, no problems, no weirdness, just handled. Now the food, listen. The shrimp and grits were flat-out excellent. The shrimp were juicy, the peppers were cut right, everything was seasoned properly, and you could actually taste every ingredient. It was like a musical in your mouth, every note showed up. I went back to class and showed my classmates what I got, because it looked and tasted that good. After school I was headed for my 1 hour drive home, but I decided to doubled back to try something sweet, the Belgian waffle with cinnamon and pecans. It came out looking like a prop for a cinematic movie prop, and it was just as good as the first meal from earlier today. The kind of good where you start thinking about ordering another one immediately, but you stop yourself because you already know you'll be back tomorrow. So here's my verdict. Metro Diner just became one of my new go-too lunch spots when I am in Winter Park for class. If you're anywhere near this area and you've never been, you need to pull up and try it for yourself, don't trust my taste buds, try your own!!! I'm giving Metro Diner five stars, and that's coming from somebody who's managed dining at a serious military level. Retired USAF TSgt J. Speight

It sucks, this location is close to home, but the first impression was so bad, 5 years later I avoid it!
