The pub is beautiful and cosy, the landlady was kind and cheerful and the food.....oh god, the food! We both had a starter of pigeon, not something you usually see on a pub menu and it was superbly cooked and tasted amazing. For my main I chose the steak burger with chips and onion rings, the burger was big, flavoursome and juicy and the touch I like is that the tomato ketchup on table was all homemade, not from a bottle! We will certainly come back to this awesome place if we are ever near the area again because it was outstanding!!

Very cosy atmosphere, beautiful old building and they've retained the charm. The food here was delicious, and very reasonably priced, especially considering they use local ingredients. The hosts were very charming and the locals were as well. A lot of outdoor space so can imagine on a nice sunny Sunday, it would be nice to take advantage of! If you're in this area, I highly recommend popping by here. My only regret is we needed to head out without really getting to enjoy the evening atmosphere as we were walking back to our campsite and it was dark.

Very family friendly, we have been here for Sunday lunch many times (whole family plus dog) and for date night dinners. Always a friendly service; another great pub we are lucky to have in the near neighbourhood. It is usually pretty busy so booking ahead at weekends probably a good idea.

The inn is 15th century and retains so many of the old features such as cut-outs in the wall to display the wattle and daub construction of the walls. The flagstone floors are lovely as well. The Admans ale is the best in Britain, hands down, although I do not recall whether this is a "tied" house. I remember, a few decades ago, watching the marriage of Charles and Diana on the telly in the bar and getting plastered with the locals. This place is as traditional as it gets. The last time I was there I saw no fruit machines and I doubt any have appeared since then. A Suffolk treasure beyond measure.

We had just missed the lunch service but were made to feel extraordinarily welcome by Nick, the landlord, and were in no way treated like outsiders because it is very much a classic chocolate box village local and we'd come eighty miles from Cambridge to this sleepy Suffolk village. We were even given bar snacks on the house to make up (somewhat) for our disappointment at just missing lunch. But because we were treated so nicely this really was no problem at all.
