General Tso's Chicken with fried rice (leftovers)
    Ashley F.

Decided to go for carryout as this family-owned restaurant was recommended to me. I went and placed an order there in the restaurant for carryout. The staff was friendly and attentive to all the customers waiting on orders. Restaurant was clean. Ordered the orange chicken and General Tso's chicken, both with fried rice and fried crispy wontons. The orange chicken was slightly different than I'm used to, but still enjoyable. General chicken was also good. I may pass on the wontons in the future as they were not my cup of tea. All good things to say about this restaurant though. We'll go back again!

NOTE ADDED MENU TO PICTURES! read the reviews and it is really really mixed but we were in the area so we did take out. ordered chicken wings, they were not too bad orange chicken not deep fried but stir fried they did a perfect job with that mu shu they use rice wrappers thank you !!! most use the junky mexican tortillas nice flavors a bit overloaded with sauce cashew chicken good flavors but a bit overloaded with sauce again. overloaded with sauce means it was soaking the sauce in the meat / marinated type of thing and then sauce in it. tone down that and it would be better. all in all good flavors 45$ total bill would return if in the area. NO outside seating

Horrible food & service, don't waste your time! Didn't even want to put to much into writing a review, place was just bad on all levels.

The lobby area is very outdated and could definitely use some renovations. On a positive note, the lady at the front desk was very nice and informative, which I appreciated. We ordered the kids' teriyaki chicken meals with zucchini only, and I got the teriyaki shrimp and chicken combo with zucchini only as well. The shrimp were the small baby shrimp, and I was expecting regular-sized shrimp, so that was disappointing. Overall, the food was pretty bland. I had to take it home and add my own seasoning to make it better. My grandma did enjoy her meal, though. One thing I liked was that they serve bottled water instead of faucet water that was a nice touch. Unfortunately, between the bland food and the outdated atmosphere, I don't see myself returning

I ordered gyozas for the first time this evening and let me tell you....all six of them were gone is less than 5 minutes. Their sushi is SO good and is always fresh. Their chicken egg rolls are always a favorite and I'm a big fan of their lo mein. 100% recommend

Cash price total for 2 with 8.725% tax was $38.05 whereas it would be 4% additional at $39.58 if using a credit card. The cashier Adolfo was friendly as usual. The food items were filled and fresh which was a nice change from what we had the previous few times we arrived about 3:00 pm when items are basically refilled with newer product and mixed around so not as fresh. The fried chicken and chicken soup are chopped pieces of chicken, not full pieces, like wings or thighs chopped in half or thirds. The fajita mix was good and had a nice complement of vegetables with the chicken bits. Taquitos and chicken on the stick were good as were the fresh green beans and dumplings. Everything selected was tasty though some had seemingly extra salt, but did not detract from the taste. The restrooms continue to be a downside to the restaurant. Many people we have heard and talked to say they always go to a restroom prior to arriving at the restaurant, or go across the street to QT or elsewhere. They do have two sinks in each restroom and bottled hand soap. The restroom stall doors do not close very well, and usually do not lock, and the restrooms overall definitely have an odor. We enjoyed our visit to China City on this day and recommend it if you can arrive close to the opening time in order to assure fresh items. When they are fresh they are excellent and delicious.

I went there for many years before it became China City. I thought I would give it a try and let's just say I won't be trying it again. I had to order a minimum through Instacart so I wanted to make a couple meals out of it. I ordered the plain lo mein, the General Tso's chicken with fried rice on the side, which supposedly it came with, and some of the sweet biscuits. The food is not good. The sweet biscuits were partially stale when I opened them and they barely had any sugar on them at all. The chicken is tough like it was older in the day and overcooked. I did not get the rice as mentioned. And the lo mein is pretty basic. I could get it better at other places. Second day of eating the leftover food, the sweet biscuits are even more stale and the chicken sauce has congealed. That is not appetizing, especially when there are other Chinese restaurants in the area that have better tasting sauce that that does not happen with. It was expensive for what you get. I'm not sure I can even finish all of it and get my moneys worth. Sorry
