We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Linnette's during our stay and every meal was a standout. Dishes were consistently fresh, plated beautifully, and (almost always) locally sourced, which you can taste in the quality. Lunch might have been my favorite: the shrimp po'boy was spot-on and the fries cooked in tallow were something special being crispy, savory, and addictive. Mornings were a joy too, the coffee is phenomenal. Service was attentive and fast without ever feeling rushed; food came out promptly and the staff checked in at the right moments. The whole experience felt relaxed, polished, and very well run. The interior design is straight out of a magazine. Such an experience. No complaints, just a genuinely excellent restaurant. We're staying at The Dunlin this weekend and couldn't be more impressed. We've have eaten at the Linette several times and everything here has been exceptional. The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly, and the food is a true 10/10. We've enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner on-site, and lunch was my personal favorite.. the pimento grilled cheese with tomato soup is absolutely amazing. Their oat milk latte and matcha are also some of the best I've ever had. A special shoutout to Brad, who immediately remembered from our reservation that we don't drink alcohol and offered creative mocktail options, and even noted that we're vegetarian. That level of care and attention to detail really stood out. Everything about our stay has been incredible.. 10/10 recommend. read more

Linnette's was truly one of the highlights of our stay at The Dunlin -- every dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. We started with the heirloom carrots and roasted cauliflower-- both so flavorful and unique. The braised Snake River Farms short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender and so delicious!! Another evening we tried the Wagyu cheeseburger and Caesar salad, and they were just as impressive Desserts are a MUST! The atmosphere is elegant but relaxed, with charming décor and warm service that makes you feel immediately at home. Linnette's is a gorgeous place to meet up with friends for drinks and a meal. Located on a resort, there isn't much to do after or before visiting the restaurant. They had complimentary valet parking. The service was wonderful and the drinks were powerful. The tricky part for me was that since we went during restaurant week, we got a great value for our meal but while good there just wasn't anything I would say someone had to get. Food was ok. Service was not the best. Group of 8 and two did not get their meal. The food was not warm. Ambiance is wonderful. The manager comped the meal that went missing . We still had one walk alway with no dinner. At least the manager made it wright. Won't be back for dinner. Sad ,as this was our third time . They could change up their menu a little as well. We celebrated my partner's 30th birthday here on a little date. Since we were not staying in the Dunlin (the hotel that Linette's is inside of), we had a little bit of a trek from downtown. Definitely be careful if you plan to drive at night, because the roads of John's Island are DARK. If I had the option, a 6:30 reservation would have been great to catch the sunset and get home before it got late. Beautiful atmosphere but not too stuffy. My partner described it as "coastal chic". Whatever you want to call it... the food was wonderful. The hamachi tuna was good, the warm crab dip was good - it was a little chilly by the door with the door open so "warm" was exactly what I needed. The steak was incredible as well. read more

I'm very sorry to say it but Linette's needs to take a serious look at their kitchen - starting with their Executive Chef and ALL kitchen staff because exec chefs are not always in the kitchen and definitely are not the ones preparing all of the food but they ARE in charge. Auberge Resorts caters to a well-heeled, well-traveled and sophisticated clientele. Customers who eat out regularly, travel the world and many of whom live in major global cities with the best restaurants in the world at their doorstep. You cannot be a 5 star resort with a poor restaurant. We went to dinner here with excitement and expectations of having a great meal as the dining options on Johns Island near Kiawah and Seabrook Islands is subpar at best so there was an opportunity here for Linnette's to become a darling among the resort crowd. Sadly, we went 0 for 4 on our food. Personally, I have not taken a bite of my dinner and then put it immediately into my napkin ever. But my porchetta was so awful it was inedible. I'm not certain but I believe it was cooked sous vide, which is totally fine but it then needs to be finished off in the broiler to render the fat cap and get the crisp layer and meat inside warmed through and juices flowing. That part very clearly did not happen and the meat was served basically with the texture of flavored rubber, which was disgusting. It was served over polenta that was completely bland, no flavoring of any kind and plated as a pale pink piece of rubber on top of pale cream polenta with zero garnish. Any line cook in an average restaurant would know that could not go out to a customer like that but not one person, including the server saw anything to be concerned about. My whiskey sour came with a 3" thick layer of egg white, and while it is classically served with egg white, it was far too much and make the drink smell bad and I left it on the table untouched. My husband ordered the Blue Crab over Carolina Gold Rice, another disaster and honestly committed the worst sin seafood preparation, which is to dump a ladle of unidentifiable white cream sauce completely over the lump crab meat so you cannot see it and serve it over bone dry (so dry it crunched your mouth) gold rice. Putting dairy of any kind, whether cheese or mayo is what you do when chefs are trying to push out seafood that's on its way out and squeeze a few more dollars out of what they didn't sell 4 nights ago. A huge no-no in a 5 star resort restaurant. The food doesn't have to be fancy, it can be Low country, southern influenced, relaxed and even comforting if that's the vibe you're going for. But it can NOT be bad. My son ordered the ricotta dumplings, another over-sauced, unattractive mess of a dish with way too much going on - You do not need to add more melted cheese on top of a dumpling filled with..cheese! The started of yellowtail crudo sounded promising and arrived with an unpleasant, not quite fresh smell on the fish which while plated fine in this case, was not cut by anyone who knew what they were doing. The fish was cut too thick and had a tough, chewy consistency rather than delicate and velvety as you expect with sushi. Someone else in the kitchen who needs more training on their knife skills and should be reassigned until they get that right. The menu, the exec chef, the GM of the hotel and key investors need to have a come-to-Jesus look at what is happening in there and make changes. If you're reading this and think I'm a one-off complaint, I'll leave you with this information to ponder. The day after our disastrous dinner, we were at the tennis club on Seabrook and spoke to more than half a dozen other members who ALL said they had gone to Linnette's and had similarly poor experiences. There is now a reputation of this restaurant being a disappointment for food and none of them said they would go back and give it another try or recommended it to anyone when I asked. That, for anyone at The Dunlin who is in a position of power to make decisions, is the kiss of death for a restaurant. read more

When the drinks arrived, my bourbon rocks was a Manhattan. He finally took our 6th persons drink order and took back the unordered Manhattan. About 15 minutes later my bourbon arrived with #6s drink. He left again and about 15 minutes later he came back to take the dinner order. 5 of us ordered the flounder .It was passable. Nothing the least special or exciting. Linnette's is a beautiful restaurant with stunning views. We sat on the screened porch for breakfast. It was delicious and the food was all locally sourced. The service was excellent as well. The waitress checked on us several times. I did take away one star because I think the food is seriously overpriced. Two of us each got the scrambled egg plate and a mimosa. We shared one side of grits. The bill was just shy of $100. Be sure to check the menu and prices before you go so that you're prepared! read more

Time for food to arrive at the table was slow we got there at 5:45 we got an app but we didn't receive our entrees til after 7 which would be no issue if we didn't have a toddler. One of the entrees was cold. Located at The Dunlin Hotel. The restaurant and bar space has great views. We stopped in for a cocktail and while overall, we enjoyed our experience, I will say there was one disappointment. My wife ordered a lemon drop martini, and I ordered a glass of wine. The Martini filled barely half the glass, and it was one of the lightest pours of wine. I have seen in very long time. I have a lot of experience in the wine industry, and I know how much wine should be in a glass. This one was noticeably light. I spent a lot of time in the wine industry and I've been in Napa wineries a couple hundred times, I know how much wine should be in a glass and there was no mistaking the attempt to "extend the bottle". Will probably give this another visit, but when I'm spending $60 for a cocktail and a glass of wine, give me some value. read more

Was excited to try this new addition to the neighborhood. Hospitality and customer service were excellent, however, they will need to find a new chef for a menu overhaul. I had made a reservation two weeks out via email (at the time the only way to get a reservation) and it was determined after 4 emails and 5 days later that I could get a table at 7:45pm for a party of 5. The day prior, I received a text from Resy confirming a reservation at 5:30pm instead. Upon checking with the restaurant midday of the reservation, they simply asked when would you like eat and accommodated a 7pm request. The restaurant was half full the night we ate here. Simply making a reservation took more effort than it was worth. This was one of the most overpriced subpar meals I have eaten in quite some time. It appears to have a feeling that Auberge hired a "chef" to design the menu while it is executed by someone who knows very little about food prep. We ordered raw oysters, summer salad, and the bread for starters. The oysters came with a decent mignonette. However, we requested some horseradish and were brought a small dish of tabasco as there wasn't anything else in house. $9 for bread and butter is ridiculous and it's simply just bread. Four sprinkles of Bulls Bay salt doesn't warrant the high price tag. The summer salad was full of unripened crunchy peaches and tasteless cherry tomatoes. I live locally and there are many good tomatoes and peaches right now including at Rosebank Farms at the front of the neighborhood. I would recommend Rosebank Farms and their frozen meals and produce over any of the dishes at Linnette's. The cornmeal crusted flounder came to the table soggy as the shrimp creole was poured onto the flounder and appeared to have set in the window while the other dishes were being prepared. The bed of red beans that accompanied the tile fish was tasteless and overcooked. The braised greens consisted of 3 nickel size pieces of leaves mixed in with the tasteless red beans. The crispy potatoes served along side the bavette tasted of soggy tater tots from the McDonalds breakfast menu. A side of charred okra consisted of 3 large pieces of okra that were overly ripened. If you know what this means, you might as well try eating toothpicks. Upon bringing this to the attention of our server, it was explain we were the second or third table this evening that had said something about the dish. You would think after the first bit of feedback, the issue would be fixed. It is easy to determine if the okra is inedible by simply looking at it and even by touching it before putting it on the grill. Again, the overall prep of the food did not have the sense it was being done by a chef. All drinks (tea, soda, etc) are $5 with no refills. They ran out of clean drink glasses and due to a language barrier as it was explained with the dishwasher, our refill was delivered in a smaller water glass. They were running a special where the kids dishes (minnows menu) were to be complimentary through Labor Day weekend, but each dish was $12 and was not complimentary on the final bill. Two butter pasta dishes were ordered and no complaints here other than it was requested without the Parmesan on top and both come with it on top. We did not bring this to the attention of the staff. All in all, this mediocre meal at best cost a total of $370. I do not have an issue paying for good quality food. There are many other restaurants in the Charleston area worth your attention over this place for less money. My recommendation is to let the hotel guests pay for this overpriced menu. Maybe it will keep some reservations open at more deserving restaurants us locals can visit. read more

If you are an Auberge loyalist, don't go here. Serious kinks need to be worked out - incl speed of service (nearly an hour for our first drinks), quality of food (bland, overcooked, over sauced) and attentiveness of staff (poor).
