There are many reviews about this location. I've been a member since 2018, yes there are pro's and…read morecon's like any other gym, but you need to feel it out to decide when it works for you; Don't come on a Monday night after 5pm. If you want to use the squat racks come anytime Sunday after 11. Saturday anytime after 12pm. Most evening nights are ok but it will be busier. If you go before 4pm you can get on anything. They redid the unisex hot sauna, which is nice and slightly bigger, had hoped for infrared but oh well it's still pretty good. The pool area in the summer is great, especially if you have kids. Many slides and types of pools to accommodate little and slightly older. The locker rooms are always kept up well (except during the summer, the family room is NOT kept up well at all...) The showers could be kept cleaner during peak times as well as the hot tubs (just this past year). The swim membership for a junior competing is kind of pricey, had to reduce that out of my package due to the price and unavailability to make it 2x due to my schedule. Overall, the equipment is usually maintained pretty well. I was disappointed when they removed quite a few of the bikes out of there, ultimately I just stopped biking as the recumbent bikes are absolute garbage. I do feel that this gym does need to update a lot of the equipment and utilize the space a bit more efficiently. Other than that, I consistently get a great work out with many modalities to choose from, in a nice setting with a couple days of the month that it's too busy for me but not enough to look elsewhere. I've had memberships at the other local big box gyms and they simply suck. Lifetime is the best within the area unless you want to have multiple small boutique gym memberships, if you don't want that, LT is the place.

Was talking on my phone not bothering anyone suddenly an employee peaked her head out of her office…read moreroom and rudely told me to be quiet disrespecting me in the hallway then we had an intense verbal exchange and she caused a seen I mean she crashed out so bad. After the scene she caused I left the club and the next morning the Shelby township manager called me and told my membership has been canceled. I got harassed and disrespected then banned just because Karen thinks this her parents club and she can tell anyone in there to shut up. Place is a joke they charge 180$ a month acting like its a country club yet they never bother replacing the old machines nor educate the employees on how to respectfully approach patrons.

When we arrived, we noticed they were following Covid guidelines with equipment cleaning and limited capacity. They had all the equipment we needed (power bars, deadlift bars, metal calibrated plates, deadlift platforms, free weights, etc.) Everyone was really friendly to us newcomers as well. Their daily rate was reasonable and I saw their monthly/yearly prices on the wall and it was super reasonable as well. Be sure to check them out if you're interested in powerlifting or just getting into shape!

This gym is beautiful! I highly recommend getting the complimentary three day pass and visit each…read moreday to see how the club is on different days and at different times of day. Overall, we were really impressed with everything, especially the classes that they offered and the amenities that you can include in your monthly membership. Not a good option for families with younger kids but this is the place for anyone interested in an upscale fitness club with lots of amenities!

While there are aspects I genuinely enjoy, there are several ongoing issues that have left me…read morefeeling disappointed. First, the cancellation policy feels excessive. Being charged for canceling a class last-minute, on top of an already high monthly membership fee, is frustrating. I understand that many boutique studios with class-only models have strict cancellation policies. However, this is a full gym membership, not just a class-based studio. Additionally, for long-standing members, there should be some flexibility -- such as a limited number of exception waivers for circumstances like illness or family emergencies. That would demonstrate consideration for loyal members. Cleanliness is another major concern. The showers consistently smell moldy, and there is often visible hair around the drains. It genuinely makes me question how frequently they are cleaned. The lockers are also frequently dirty, and the towel fringes are falling apart. At this price point, members should feel comfortable using the facilities. The women's bathroom soap dispensers are often empty or not functioning -- which is a basic expectation for any gym, let alone one at this cost. In terms of the gym experience itself, I will say that the classes are enjoyable and the instructors are kind, motivating, and professional. That is the primary reason I continue to attend. However, it would greatly improve the experience if reformer/Pilates classes were separated by skill level. For members who have attended multiple classes, it becomes repetitive to hear the same beginner-level breakdown each time of how to use the machine, etc. Offering stratified levels would better serve both beginners and more advanced participants, ensuring everyone's expectations are met. Parking is also an ongoing issue. There are frequent times when no spots are available, and members are forced to park next door. While I understand that occasional overflow can happen, it seems to occur more often than it should. This overcrowding appears to be exacerbated by the gym offering repeated five-day free trials to individuals who have already used one! Try finding a treadmill to use on a Saturday morning! While I understand the importance of growing the business, maintaining a quality experience for existing members should be prioritized -- especially when space and parking are already limited. Lastly, the café, while offering nutritious and high-protein options, feels overpriced for what it is. The recipes could also be improved for taste and overall value. I am not trying to be overly critical. I have been a member of several other gyms in the past, none of which cost this much. With a premium price point come higher expectations. I genuinely hope these concerns can be addressed, as I would like to continue enjoying the positive aspects of the gym without ongoing frustration.
