We recently moved from Northwest Reno to Southeast. I would often visit San Rafael Dog park with our Rottweiler Brooklyn. After our first visit at Link Piazzo Park I was extremely impressed with this Washoe County dog Park. There is a large dog area and small dog area which is enclosed by fencing. The dog areas are a great size, and you can rest assured that the area is completely fenced in. All the dogs so far at this park are extremely friendly, as are their responsible owners. If you live around south Reno I highly encourage you visit this park with any size fur ball who likes to play.

Really nice dog park. There are separated large and small dog sides and both are big! Real grass, slight incline, native brush, rocks and trees add to the variation and interest of this park. At least that's what my dogs said. Shaded benches for the Dog Moms and Dads made it a win for me.

Closed until late May 2023. Bummer I just drove from Carson City to go to a small dog park. Wally world was closed. It looks really nice though. Can't wait to come back.

Wow I was wrong about Reno not having a dog park like this... It was perfect, had sections for large and small dogs, love that! Some of the dog parks have dirt and that's just awful. The one closet to my home has dirt and a small pool. This is a recipe for disaster since I have a white dog Arggghh. This park is perfect; grassy, trees, benches and water dispensers. The large size was massive to my delight. The best thing there was sweet, friendly dogs and owners. I actually had a guy tell me that my dog was too over weight! It took all I had to say he could loose his grey ponytail but when people go low, I try to go high. It was fun to see all kinds of large dog breeds there and all of them were well cared for and loved by their owners. Even though this place was far from my home it was SOO worth the drive. I'll be going back soon.

This park is cleaner than most dog parks in Reno! And they have separate areas for big and little dogs. It's nice to not have to worry about my giant dog scaring the little guys! It's also enclosed so I don't have to worry about my dog running away!

Hands-down the biggest and best small-dog park I've ever been to. The grass is always lush, people pick up promptly - I've never stepped in an "easter egg," and the dogs are invariably small and jolly. The location within Hidden Valley Regional Park means that I have the option of going on a mellow hike after some time at Link Piazzo. There are shaded benches, puppy water fountains, human water fountains, and (complimentary) cleanup bags. People are amiable if you approach them, though the park is not hyper-social.

The first time we came here was for a UYE. We really love this dog park. It has separate fenced areas for large dogs and small dogs. Located in Hidden Valley, it is a bit of a drive for us, but it is a great park and the dogs love it. We have taken our Pomeranians to other dog parks, but big dogs like to bully them. Our dogs would lay on there backs, feet in the air, and play dead. At this park they run around with dogs there own size. Definitely will be back

BEST DOG PARK IN RENO!! All fenced in and divided based on your size of dog. Brilliant! Plenty of room to have the dogs run around and tire themselves out. People are mainly friendly and you'll get a chance to see a great variety of dogs. Water buckets are placed around the park and the owners take turns filling them up if they are empty, get knocked over, or with some dogs they pee on them (have not figured out why). I'm not sure I would bring small children here due to the size of some of the dogs and not knowing if they were aggressive towards small children.

I found another fenced park but this one is better. Less smokers at this park compared to the other one. So far, this seems to be the best fenced dog park in Reno and Sparks.

Very nice park with two different areas for small and big dog. People seem friendly and respectful picking up after their dogs.

Great dog park! Lots of people/dogs. We stopped here traveling from CA to Boise, ID to let the dog and kids run around. Highly recommend.

DECOR: Mid August and it's half grass, half dirt patch field enclosed in a chain-link fence with about 100 yards of room to run around. Trees sprinkled through. Perfectly unobstructed view of the lake and backdrop mountains. Sunset view. AMENITIES: Benches to sit, a walkway/sidewalk if your want to stay out of the grass and dirt. Trashcans and a drinking fountain for people and pets. Lake access. EXPERIENCE: I took my pup, Nala, here on her birthday and she had a blast. The park entrance contains a double gate to ensure dogs to get in or out accidentally. There were at least 4 other dogs at any given time at the park and they were all friendly. Owners were not oblivious to their pets wandering around. Owners were also not aggressive or upset when other dogs came up to them. Nala played in the water a bit with other dogs although she didn't swim. When she was tired, she'd find a patch of grass to enjoy under the shade of a tree. Then, she'd hop back out to herding the other dogs. Lol. She got some great socialization in and the walk from the parking lot wasn't too far. However, I've seen smaller dogs like Frenchies needing to be carried there if it's hotter days so keep that in mind if you're pup doesn't do too well on longer walks out the heat.

You'll be happy to know there is also a bathroom on site. There are various hiking trails you can explore, but most of it is not shaded. The Perimeter Loop Trail was fun with scenic views of downtown and the currently snow-capped mountain range to the West. I also did the Hidden Valley Backcountry Loop. It has a 1,033 Elevation gain and approximately 3.7 miles to complete the loop. It's a bit slippery going up, but I took my time and had no issues. So happy we didn't get any rain and was able to go for a hike! We hiked for a good hour. Loved the nature and view of the city from the top. There was a lot of gravel towards the top and a few of us did slip going down hill, even with hiking shoes. Even a trail runner said he fell and slipped a few times. There's a few trails so do some research to see which trail meets your needs. Lots of parking and the bathroom is next to the tennis and pickle ball courts. Lucky I had my pickle ball set in the trunk and even got in a few games. Location was only about 15 minutes from downtown Reno, very close! I'd come back next time to hike another trail!
