I came in for a routine cleaning and was advised to replace my permanent retainer. Earlier in the appointment, I clearly told the staff that I rely on a specialized night guard for TMJ. Only after the procedure was completed was I explicitly told that Linhart could not adjust the appliance, forcing me into an emergency specialist appointment and significant unexpected expense. When I raised these concerns, Linhart did not respond for days and only replied after a follow-up email. The response ignored most of my questions and blamed me for not bringing the appliance in. When I provided a screenshot from the other doctor explicitly stating that I was unable to bring the appliance in, Zachary stopped responding entirely. Instead, I received a dismissive response from a staff member that amounted to "tough luck." As a 24-year-old patient, I was absolutely taken advantage of. Linhart's failure to disclose the consequences of this procedure forced me to miss additional work and pay over $1,000 to fix a problem they created -- and they refused to take any financial responsibility. If you are younger, cost-conscious, or have any concern about transparency or accountability, avoid this practice at all costs. Horrible experience, horrible customer service, and deeply unethical behavior. read more

Spectacular -- best dental care in the city. I started out with this office years ago, they did a brilliant job re-crowning my teeth front teeth with veneers. Re-doing some previous dental work that was cracking and staining. They did a beautiful job. Everyone here from the hygienists, assistants and dentists to the front desk are super knowledgable and helpful. I've also gotten a range of services from teeth whitening, to braces to fillings. All very professional and they always know what they are doing. You have the best people working here. I absolutely adored my hygienist Marie, she is the best all around teeth cleaner I've ever had, and she is charming and funny to boot. I've stopped working out of Manhattan so it saddens me that it just became too much time for me to get over to Midtown East. I will miss going there! Great place with great people is how I would describe this place. Very clean and they don't make you wait for very long. Everything is sanitized and sanitary. I like how they make sure that you're comfortable and always treat you with respect. At the end of each procedure, a goodie bag filled with travel sized dental stuff is given out. The dentists are wonderful, but their office management staff is atrocious. And, as with any business, that staff has as much to do with the quality and reputation of the business as the dentists themselves. I had gone to them for a few years and was happy with their patient care and professionalism. I took a break (insurance) and when I went back I found they had changed, for the worse. They outright lied about the cost and then held my x-rays hostage until I paid them over $600 for a basic cleaning/x-rays. (They assured me my insurance would cover the cost, but it did not. Then they refused to send a follow-up bill after I had made a partial payment saying I knew how much I owed.) Yes, this put my dental care at risk Their original model was to court patients who didn't need to rely on insurance. They then added the son and other dentists, growing the business but ignoring the fact that they should have a professional business staff. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I was contacted twice by this office for a complimentary cleaning. I filled out all of the insurance paperwork, and confirmed that the appointment was complimentary in writing, TWICE. I rearranged my entire morning to visit their office, and was asked to step into a hallway from the waiting room. I was then told that I had received the email in error, and asked to leave. This whole situation was not only ridiculous, but embarrassing, and a waste of time. I can not believe that a premier dentist office would ever treat a patient this way, and would not recommend this place to anyone. Top-notch professionalism and a caring attitude make Dr. Zach Linhart stand out as a dentist. I visited his office after breaking an old filing in my back molars, which left a gaping hole and me very nervous about needing massively expensive crowns. Dr. Linhart saw me the day after I broke my tooth, squeezing me into a busy Monday schedule. After an exam and an X-ray, he mushed some play-doh like stuff into my tooth to temporarily fill the hole until I could receive a permanent "onlay" in ten days. Unlike a crown, the onlay doesn't require removing most of the tooth structure, and is less expensive than a full crown procedure. Dr. Linhart's assistant Christine got me prepped for my drilling sesh with plenty of lip balm and a comfortable dental chair. They even let me listen to tunes through my headphones during the procedure! Dr. Linhart has a deft, steady hand with the Novocaine needle, and it was the least stressful injection I've ever had. That alone is worth the five stars. The procedure was absolutely painless, and didn't take nearly as long as I expected. Another thing that is remarkable about this office is that you don't have to wait -- at all -- to be seen. As soon as you arrive, you are taken back to a treatment room and seen right away. It's incredibly gracious. The staff here is very sweet and capable, and they make sure you are comfortable. It's not a bargain dental office, but in my experience, an excellent dentist is worth the money. I'd recommend Dr. Linhart to anyone in need of dentistry, and especially if you are a very nervous or stressed-out patient. My molar is as good as new and it was practically a pleasant experience to have it fixed. read more

The Linhart's recently purchased a dental practice in Cos Cob, CT. Be forewarned, their fees are astronomical. As an example, the fees for bitewings prior was $90. The fee with Linhart Dentistry increased to $150 - a 66% increase. Dr. Z Linehart is as pompous as they get. And if you think that's bad, a filling was $665! Dr Z Linehart blamed the problem on insurance - seriously. Insurance companies shouldn't have to subsidize egregious fees either. I most certainly am not continuing with this practice. read more

It's almost impossible to believe Dr. Linhart (or Dr. Zach as they seemed to lovingly call him at the office) started practicing last year. His professionalism, knowledge, and technique were as good as any dentist I've been treated by. After he took my x-rays, he put them up on the screen and explained them to me as he examined them, which I found both interesting and informative. For some reason I always find it reassuring when my doctor takes the time to explain things to me in detail. The midtown office is state-of the art. The chair had a back massager built in which was a nice touch. Nothing like a good massage during a teeth cleaning! I've been looking for a Dentist in NYC since I moved here 6 years ago, but I've never seen the same one twice. I was referred to Dr. Linhart by a friend, and I'm glad I followed through on the appointment. I made another appointment for 6 months out. I don't want to forget to mention the staff. It had been YEARS since I went to the dentist, and I was really nervous because I was having all kinds of tooth pain. I was made to feel very comfortable from the mo!ent I stepped in to Dr. Linhart's practice- it was clean, the staff was really nice, and I didn't have to wait nearly at all for my appointment. Turned out, I just needed a few of the cavities from when I was 10 years old re-filled. He did the job quickly and, for the most part, painlessly (I remember it being a lot worse than it was the last time I went to a different dentist years ago). I had over $10,000 worth of porcelain veneers applied by Dr. Linhart. There was a black inclusion in one of the front ones, and when I pointed it out, he took a drill (!) to it, making a tiny hole...and then he thought it was OK! It wasn't.I had just spent over $10,000 on beautiful veneers and had a tiny hole in one of my front teeth! So he had to re-do that veneer. But the new tooth did not fit in well, in color or shape, with my other veneers. He re-did it again. Same thing - the new tooth was gray in comparison to my other teeth, and very noticeable. Additionally, the two veneers on my teeth next to my front teeth had a weird shape. I was heart-broken and disgusted. A few years later, I again saved up enough money and had my two front teeth re-done by another cosmetic dentist so that they would match. Additionally, I had some non-cosmetic dental work done in Dr. Linhart's office (by a female dentist whose name I forget) and both crowns have never fit properly. I am about to pay a ton of money to yet another dentist to have them replaced. Can you say, 'Ripoff?' I would highly recommend you DON'T go to Dr. Jan Linhart. I wish I hadn't. read more

I'm a visitor from the west coast where I had had a wisdom tooth extraction a few weeks before some much needed time off. I came to New York on vacation, and realized I had left the irrigating syringe I use after every meal at home, on my bathroom counter. Without irrigation, I can't eat any solid food! In a panic, I called this office asking if I could buy one from them. They asked me to come over right away and gave me two syringes and a big bag of dental goodies (chapsticks, high quality toothpaste, floss etc). When I asked to pay, they said absolutely not. They asked me to enjoy my stay in New York and just take care of myself. There is no way I can recommend this dentist to my family and friends on the west coast, but I hope this review will show you that this dentist is not in it for the profit. I needed an immediate procedure and while it was really stressful, I felt much more relaxed than usual - I felt like I was in caring and capable hands.
