Got the normal order tonight. Chicken and broccoli, gen tsos, order for chicken lo mein and then an order of crab ragoons. Everything was alright until I went to grab some lo mein. I saw the darkest thickest black piece of hair wrapped around a piece of chicken. I called the restaurant and the first guy answered told him I found a piece of hair in the lo mein. He said oh hang on and got someone else on the phone. I told him I found hair in the chicken lomein and he said oh you want to come back and get a new one. I said no I want a refund for my lo mein. He said oh yeah sure, next time you come back we will give you a refund. Did not ask for any information just OK sure. Sounded like an empty promise. Then he went on to say we wear hats so it shouldn't happen but it still does. Like it was not a big deal. I am sorry but I do not want to find an extra hairy surprise in my food. Hot, fast, and only one hair. Quick with the ordering and even faster making the food. The place obviously does a tremendous amount of takeout and delivery as there were only a few tables inside. I have ordered from Ling Ling twice (due to friends wanting to order it), and both times I've been extremely disappointed. Their crab Rangoon is severely lacking in flavor, their egg rolls were soft and had one dimensional flavor, and the chicken in the Szechuan chicken and the chicken with broccoli was so tough and chewy. You could see the striations throughout it. The fried rice was unbelievably dry and tasteless. I always give places another try but after two times of wasting money here I wouldn't go back. If I could give this restaurant 5 stars for the food I would. The main problem were the steamed dumplings. They tasted like nothing and even by the looks of it they're grey and tasteless. On the other hand, the Chicken Lo Mein was great. Really tasteful and what I would've expected the dumplings to be. The only other reason why I'm giving a 4/5 stars rating is because the delivery was extremely fast. I ordered food via DoorDash and it estimated at least 26-36 minutes for the food to arrive. Ling Ling has been my go-to place for the last 5 years. It's my favorite Chinese food restaurant across all of Erie. I appreciate that the vegetables are perfectly cooked (not raw with sauce thrown on them) which is something you don't find at other places who are pushing food out faster than you can pay for it. Something that caught me off guard was the chow mein didn't come with noodles rather a side of rice. Tasted great! If you get the pint size portion of any menu item you get a small rice (see picture) if you order extra rice they give you a pint size for $1. The delivery and counter workers are very helpful and nice. I would like to try the buffet some day! read more

Ling Ling is definitely in the top three Chinese restaurants in the Erie area. My wife is a vegetarian. We order primarily vegetarian dishes to go. General Tso's Tofu! It rocks! The Lo Mein is the best in town and always tastes fresh. The staff are very nice and willing to accommodate you if you have special requests. The dining room is small, but very clean. If you want lunch on the cheap, you can take advantage of the $1 a scoop special. It's like a buffet but you only pay a buck per scoop. You can eat a whole plate for $4. Bottom line is this, how many times have you gotten stale tasting Chinese vegetables? This is the exact opposite. If you order Broccoli in garlic sauce, the broccoli is perfectly steamed, not mushy. I'm from the New York City metro area, so I'll admit that I've been spoiled by all of the amazing food options there. However, Ling Ling is definitely worth the try! This was my first Chinese meal since moving to Erie 3 months ago and I was impressed. First, the dining room was clean and I was able to serve myself hot tea while waiting. Better yet, my meal was ready maybe 5 minutes after I ordered it. I ordered a Chicken and Broccoli combo (includes fried rice and an egg roll) which was a little over $7. I'm surprised that didn't include a drink, which I'd rather have over the egg roll. As far as the food goes, my chicken and broccoli meal reminded me of home. The portion size was reasonable, the food was nice and hot, and it was delicious. I didn't have to deal with stale food or anything that tasted too salty. My friend ordered an egg drop soup and enjoyed it. I don't think she was crazy about the lo mein though. This will definitely be my go-to spot for Chinese take-out, whether it's lunch or dinner. Next time I go, I'll see if I can exchange an egg roll for a can of soda! read more

Worth a try in Erie. It's not the best but this place to date has now probably become my go to for Chinese here. Ordered the Szechuan Beef and Sesame Chicken. The beef was too chewy, the sauce was too thin, and overall not enough flavor. However, the array of vegetables and the large portion did help. The chicken is a simple staple that was a safe choice. It was too sweet for me but for those with a sweet tooth it will probably be your safety if you can't think of anything else to get. The items are not exactly reheat friendly - as with most foods, but perhaps more so here, the food becomes stale-like and everything loses its crunch and becomes lackluster. The rice is better than most places for sure, which was a good surprise. The service is really nice and fast. I was told by one of the workers that he would order the Singapore noodles, so I'll probably try that next time. read more

The food is absolutely incredible!!! There isn't a place around that has better Chinese than Ling Ling! Once you try them you won't be happy with anywhere else, but their prices are as good as their food, so that's okay! Their lunch scoops are $1.25/ scoop and I always leave a tip, it's well worth it. I will say up front, I have a usual here, it's their orange beef: mild with light sauce served with white rice, and if I have some extra money I'd throw in some of their crab rangoon. The reason why I have a usual, however, is simply because when I ordered some other things, I was disappointed. Do NOT order their dumplings, the dough was literally half an inch thick, where as real dumplings are paper thin or near paper thin. It made a really bad eating experience. I feel that their fried rice is a bit bland (and yellow for some reason). I felt like if they added more soy sauce and spices like onions and garlic, it would taste as good as it does in my hometown of St. Louis. Their chicken and beef szechuan specialties are amazing, though! Honey chicken, cashew chicken, general tso, orange, etc, they put a LOT of effort into it to get the flavor balances just right, so I appreciate their effort for that. As far as Chinese takeout goes, this place is awesome! The have a small dining room that is always very clean. Their vegetarian dishes are really good. I usually get the Vegetable Delight. They will also do a sweet and sour tofu if you request it, although they give it to you with the sauce on the side. The vegetable spring rolls are great too. They even have a small buffet, although I've never tried it. Minus one star for one important reason: the soy sauce packets with the takeout are bland and awful. I just keep a bottle at home, but it would be pretty disappointing if I had to use the ones they give you. read more
