Brad said it was 20 years old and he didn't know if he could fix it so he could put in a new one of a brand unfamiliar to me. I asked if they were good and he said he has hundreds of them installed and they are good. He quoted us $1500 for the unit and $300 installation. Our softener is 10 years old and he did nothing to troubleshoot it. Even though he was gruff I decided to agree. They required a check for $1500 to order the unit which I wrote them. They said it would take 10 days to get and they would call us. I was uncomfortable with the quick look and unwillingness to even consider trying to fix mine afterward. Thought about it for a couple of days then called Kim back and said I was uncomfortable and asked if they couldn't troubleshoot the old unit and she said that my unit was now 25 years old and they couldn't get parts for it. She said I could go online and try to find parts and fix it myself or she would "write me a check right now and refund my money". I said let me think about it. called her back in a couple of hours and asked for the refund. She said she would put the check in the mail that day. She never mentioned the $100 restocking fee that was not on the refund check. when I asked why she never mentioned the restocking fee she said "Well, I could send you the $100 back and then send you a bill for a $150 service call. Would you rather do that?"

We are beyond disappointed with the service we received from Bayside. Brad came to do the job without essential supplies -- like solder. Fortunately, my husband was able to provide solder as well as lumber necessary to install the Moen shower faucet system he charged us $200 for -- approximately twice the cost online. When we tested the installed system and could only get .4 gallons a minute he gave us a song and dance about federal regulations and our pump. He agreed to follow up, but we never heard from him. We contacted Moen who wanted our receipt for the faucet provided by Bayside, which we requested from them only to be informed that they would not provide it. At this point Bayside has told us they won't do anything further to resolve the situation. I advise anyone seeking plumbing work to look elsewhere.

After seeing it for himself, he agreed that it was not good and, in fact, looked far worse than any yards they had done at the same time as ours. He gave us a couple of options to try to be fair regarding what was done. I am glad to say that his offer was fair and we accepted. It doesn't completely fix what was done, but we feel a lot better about it.

He did most of the job without a helper, stayed focused, and the overall quality of his work was professional and clean looking. He also completed a plumbing repair in addition to the contracted work, for which he did not charge me. In my estimation he is very honest, hardworking, and very personable.
