This was the best experience I ever had at a eye glasses place. Everyone was so friendly and…read morehelpful from when you walk thru the door to when you leave.the technicians were great and Dr, Waddington who did a remote exam was very professional and thorough, she explained every procedure I went through and what the results were. Barbara who helped me choose my frames was great taking all the measurements so that my glasses would fit perfectly. I definitely am going back great experience.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. The eye exam went…read morewell. Everything went well until I sat down with the sales representative. Izabella is her name. Dr recommended that I purchase wide progressive lenses. I made sure that he added this to the prescription. However I never saw the prescription until after my glasses were paid. I should have been smart enough to notice that. However the friendliness of the place was deceiving. When i first sat down with Izabella, I mentioned to that I needed wide progressive lenses. My prescription required these lenses in order to correct my vision problem. We negotiated a price for my glasses. At times I felt like I was in a car showroom negotiating every point. Finally we agreed on the price. Izabella was able to get to my price by deleting the wide progressive lenses that I required Izabella took it upon herself to delete that very important requirement without discussing with me. I only discovered the issue after my glasses were paid for and the receipt and prescription was presented to me I asked Izabella how could she on her own decide how my prescription was going to be adjusted without discussing with me or the Dr? After all, was she the Dr? How could she, on her own make a medical decision? Izabella calmly told me that I could cancel the order or bring the glasses back within 30 days. This after spending almost 2 hours at the location. I was flabbergasted. Izabella mentioned to me that I could add $100 to the order and I would be able to get the wide progressives. This is a perfect example of bait and switch. I also noticed on my invoice that she charged me an additional $50 for 1 year product protection plan. This was also never discussed. Nor would I have approved it. After all, what the hell is a 1 year product protection plan on a pair of glasses? So in the end, I was scammed. Stay away from this place. The people there are very friendly. Don't be fooled by this deception.

I had my eye exam at Visionworks. I always bring my own frames (save a few bucks finding the…read moredesigner frames online vs in the retail store). For starters, Visionworks wanted me to sign a waiver that if they broke my $400 Prada frames while installing the new lenses, it wasn't their fault and too bad, so sad, no refund even if I produced a receipt. So, a co-worker suggested I take my prescription and frames to Wal-Mart Optical. I went to the Wal-Mart on Rte. 110 in Farmingdale. What a fantastic experience!! I went Friday evening after work and was helped by Feliks, who couldn't have been more accommodating and knowledgeable. The total for progressive lenses, transitions and anti glare was nearly $100 LESS than Visionworks. I was told the lenses would take 7-10 business days, no problem I have my current glasses. Well, I never expected to get a call on Wednesday afternoon that my glasses were ready for pick-up. Feliks helped me again at pick-up. He adjusted my frames to not slip down, he explained a few tips for using progressive lenses, all around couldn't do enough to give me the best Optical experience. I ABSOLUTELY recommend Wal-Mart Optical, and if you go, say hi to Feliks.

Walmart Vision Center - Farmingdale, NY | Optician Michael Pignataro…read moreFinding a truly exceptional optician is rarer than most people realize. It requires a professional who combines clinical precision with genuine human warmth -- someone who understands that eyecare is not merely transactional, but deeply personal. At the Walmart Vision Center in Farmingdale, Long Island, I found exactly that person in Optician Michael Pignataro, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. From the moment I walked through the door, Michael's approach set a completely different tone from what I had experienced at other optical centers. He greeted me with calm professionalism and immediately made me feel at ease. There was no rushing, no impersonal checklist energy -- just focused, attentive care from a seasoned expert who clearly loves what he does. Michael's knowledge of optics is extraordinary. When reviewing my prescription, he took the time to explain every measurement in plain, accessible language -- something most optical professionals simply don't do. He walked me through the differences between lens materials, coating options, and the latest progressive lens technologies with the kind of depth you'd expect from a professor, not a retail optician. Yet he never talked down to me or made me feel overwhelmed. He calibrated his explanations perfectly to my level of understanding, checked in to make sure I was following along, and invited every question I had. That kind of patient communication is a rare gift. The frame selection process was equally impressive. Michael has a remarkable eye for pairing the right frame to a patient's face shape, complexion, and lifestyle needs. He offered honest, thoughtful feedback rather than just steering me toward the most expensive options. He listened carefully when I described how I use my glasses -- for extended computer work, reading, and driving -- and then made specific, well-reasoned recommendations tailored to exactly those demands. I ended up with lenses and frames that have genuinely transformed my daily life, and I credit Michael's expertise entirely for that outcome. What also stood out was his meticulous attention to the fitting process. Michael adjusted my frames with surgical precision, checking and rechecking the alignment, nose pad pressure, and temple fit until everything was perfect. He explained what he was doing at each step, which gave me tremendous confidence that my eyewear was in expert hands. Most people don't realize how critical a proper fit is to optical performance -- Michael does, and he ensures his patients benefit from that knowledge. Beyond his professional excellence, Michael Pignataro is simply a wonderful human being. His warmth, patience, and genuine investment in each patient's wellbeing elevate the entire experience. If you are in need of eyecare services on Long Island and want to be treated with expertise, respect, and real personal attention, look no further. Michael Pignataro at the Walmart Vision Center in Farmingdale is, without question, among the finest opticians on Long Island. He is a true professional and an absolute credit to his field.
