So we first came across Chocolate Garden Chocolate at the gift shop at Giants Causeway last year…read more We bought a few bars, ate them on the way back to the ship, and then kicked ourselves for not grabbing more.
Back at home in New York, we looked on Amazon and searched around trying to find it...nada.
Finally we reached out to them on their Facebook page, since they had no international shipping option on their site.
We spoke with the extremely patient Miriam, who walked us through an order. We placed it and waited, knowing overseas shipping could take forever...
It came way quicker than we expected, and we were in chocolate heaven...
When we planned another trip to the Giants Causeway, we left an entire day free at the end for Chocolate Garden; we were as excited as, well, kids in a candy shop!
We opted to do the candy mold- a great bit of fun for 10 euros, and we ordered some REALLY good coffee and a delectable scone- all made on premises.
Then, to our delight, we were treated to a generous scoop of their homemade ice cream to eat while we waited for our molds to harden.
Cookies and Cream and Whiskey Cream were exceptional, BTW.
While we ate, Miriam introduced us to Mary, one of the owners, and then while we were putting together our shopping, we met Jim, her partner.
Really great people, fun place and of course, the best chocolate we've ever tasted, exceeding even the chocolatiers of Cannes and Rome...
If you love chocolate, please include a stop here when you visit Ireland, you won't be disappointed, and we are looking forward to one day being able to buy it somewhere here on Long Island!
