I paid about $1800 for an off rack dress, and $700 for alterations which included hemming, taking out a layer of a skirt, taking it a size down, and a bustle! I came into her store having only three months until my wedding, and she told me that we absolutely can make it happen. I got my dress purchased and the alterations done not even in a month later! She does extremely high quality work, and takes pride and what she does as well, making sure not to actually cut anything that doesn't need to be cut and taking care of your dress! She also makes you feel like you can do anything you need to do with it, and even if you don't like it the first time she'll go back and fix it! Really nice to know that somebody actually cares and not just after your money. Also was really nice to be able to do everything in a one stop shop without feeling like I got ripped off.

A few weeks before the wedding we found out we would be having an outdoor wedding due to the Governor's restrictions. An outdoor wedding in December in Washington....who would've thought! Making the appointment ahead of time was simple and easy, and I love that they ask for all the details about your wedding in your booking so they're already sort of caught up to speed when you come in for the first time. They do take walk-ins but it's based upon availability. Each of the dress rooms is themed, and I went with the "Rustic" room. It was cozy and decorated so cute. My friends and I were obsessed with the vibes! I had Sarah as my bridal consultant and she was fantastic! She was super personable and so much help. I went in for this first appointment with just the intention of trying things on and figuring out what style I like (I really had very little idea walking in) and ended up walking out knowing exactly the dress I'm coming back for. I have a second appointment scheduled to show my mom, sister, soon to be sister-in-law, and soon to be mother-in-law, my top three dress appointments... But I definitely know which one I'm walking out with. I showed Sarah a few ideas on Pinterest and she ended up choosing 2/3 of the dresses in my top three, and the one I'm going to end up choosing! She nailed it. Another shining element of Something Blue is that they are priced extremely affordably, with their dresses ranging between $700-$2800 (which, if you've shopped for wedding dresses before, you know is not bad). Austyn was such a great stylist who helped me along the way to find what I needed. She was so patient and helped me find my perfect dress! The rooms are spacious and private which is much nicer than some other places I went to as well. I started my dress shopping here and loved the 3rd dress I tried on but still wanted to look at more places. My goal was to find an off the rack dress that didn't require alterations, if at all possible and was reasonably priced. While I didn't want the big wedding, I still wanted to feel like a bride. I was doing some Yelp searches and though there were a couple of bridal shops nearer to my home in the Puyallup area, when I saw Ivoryology I felt like this was going to be the place to go. I called on a Friday morning asking if we could get in that day and they said yes! I knew exactly where the store would be located as I previously went to school at UW Tacoma -it's in the alley way across from the mattress factory. Parking can be tricky. Coren listened to what I wanted and allowed us to pick out whatever dresses we wanted. The first 2 were stunning, but a little tight around the arms/bust as I'm top heavy. Normally anywhere from a size 10-14, Coren pulled a size 16 of a dress she thought would be perfect-and it was!! I said yes to that dress and then Coren helped me pick out a gorgeous veil to complete the look. I waited to post my review so I could show pictures of the final look (no professional hair and makeup, I just did it myself). Not professional pics -we'll do those later. It's true, the camera adds 10 pounds. And I'm not photogenic. But I'm still so pleased and I felt beautiful. Overall, I was and am so happy with my experience at Ivoryology and with my dress and veil. I would recommend to any soon-to-be bride, whether you need a quick elopement dress or a dress for a giant wedding and reception.

When I made my appointment, I was about 4 weeks away from my wedding day, and had already purchased a dress from a different shop that i didn't love and dreaded wearing. I was already at my budget limit for my wedding, and honestly came in with the intention of trying on a few dresses to convince myself that i actually did love the dress i already owned. As soon as i walked into the shop, everyone was so friendly and nice. Janessa is an absolute angel. From the moment we met i could tell she sympathized with my situation and genuinely wanted me to feel beautiful on my wedding day regardless of if i purchased a new dress or went through with the one i had already. She let me wander the store and pick out dresses i liked, and based on my reactions to them, she picked a few off the rack for me that she thought i might like. I told her from the beginning i wanted to look like a "Fairy Princess" on my wedding day, and leave it to fate for her to pick out a dress that was absolutely PERFECT. The dress she picked for me was exactly my size, needed no alterations, and was extremely affordable (the front desk girls even gave me an additional discount on the dress). The dress she picked was something i never would have picked for myself. i was convinced i wanted something with nude, champagne or blush colored details, i had never pictured myself in anything close to a ballgown, and i have a larger chest so i never thought a strapless dress would be realistic or comfortable. After i purchased my dress, New Beginnings sent me a hand written card congratulating me and wishing me well on my wedding day. When i went in to pick up my dress, they gave me an adorable "Mrs." mug as an additional gift! I literally cannot thank Janessa enough for everything. If it wasn't for her, i can confidently say i wouldn't have felt beautiful on my wedding day. She went above and beyond to make sure i felt comfortable, listened to, and like an actual bride. The dress I was convinced wouldn't be my dress, they didn't have my size that would fit properly so she grabbed a very close alternative and it was my dream dress! It was nothing like I initially thought I wanted, but it was perfect and better than I could've imagined. And it fit me perfectly! Janessa did an incredible job helping me find my wedding dress. Also, when I said yes and we were taking my measurements to order it, my sizing was not matching up with the manufacturer's and her and Courtney were both trying to figure it out and they told me I could buy it off the rack since we knew it fit me well. I was so excited and could not have had a better experience. Janessa is amazing and so sweet. I could not recommend shopping at New Beginnings for your dress more, it was a dream!
