We visited on a Friday afternoon around 2 pm and I was glad some of the baked goods were still available. I quickly picked up a few items: Dutch letters, almond horns, almond tarts, and blueberry filled Dutch windmills. The first three items have a strong but not overpowering almond flavor. I especially liked the almond horns which had a crunch but chewy and buttery texture. I also really liked the windmills and wished I had ordered the raspberry ones as well. It was buttery and flakey with just the right about of blueberry cream cheese filling.

All I could see was a small section of prepackaged homemade cookies , not a big selection, and a few prepackaged bars at an outrageous price for 6 lemon bars at $20. Maybe locals understand what this business is, but a visitor trying to buy a coffee cake from a business that has "cake" right in the name was left confused, with no real assistance from any employee.

We had croissant sandwiches with chicken salad mixes in the middle that were awesome. They made a lemon orzo pasta and cucumber dish with scotcheroos and cookies and a charcuterie board. We came for a private event so i'm assuming these aren't typically on the menu, however the bakery made all the food for us and if their menu tastes anything like that, i'm assuming it's wonderful! The team was super kind and considerate and everyone was going back for seconds and thirds of coffee. They have a beautiful back patio to sit on and the whole place just gave such a feeling of home and warmth. 10/10 recommend!

There was quite a selection, which of course led to some happy confusion. But what really caught my eye was a triangular shaped almond-based treat labeled Hamentashen! Well, at least a reasonable facsimile. I purchased one and them proceeded to give the quite pleased guy behind the counter a Purim 101 lesson, while throwing in that it was close to Passover on the calendar, and that Rosh Hashana was coming up on Friday night. I also opined about what a traditional hamantaschen looks like, and that cherry was my favorite filling. I just finished it this morning, and found this hamantaschen to be delicious, albeit a little too sweet and needing a bit more fluffiness. Here's a reference just in case another Jewish person happens to stop in and take happy notice: https://www.onesarcasticbaker.com/hamentashen/ Secular Coda: I also purchased a monster cookie and am slowly working through all of its deliciousness.
