Wonderful Visitor's Center. Lots of Lincoln souvenirs and this is where you get your free tickets to tour the Lincoln Home. It's a 20 minute tour given by very knowledgeable volunteers. A don't miss activity if you visit this area.

If you're a Lincoln fan or lover of history, you'll enjoy stopping by here. The visitors center has plenty of books, T-shirt's and such to see, the video was informative. Best, was walking through the walls that Lincoln lived in. The guides were friendly, professional and informative. I would recommend it to friends and family if they're in the area.

An interior family room where the Lincoln's relaxed.

Great visitors's center and 100% free, in honor of the state's promise to Lincoln's son, Robert, not to charge people. The guides were kind and knowledgeable, and helped me really imagine what Lincoln's life in this house was like. In addition to his house, there is also a couple of other restored houses in the neighborhood. A nice, if pricey, gift shop, is placed just before the exhibits, in a building in which you can also watch a short video about Lincoln. The most interesting part for me was seeing Lincoln's writing desk, on which he wrote parts of our country's most famous speeches, including the Gettysburg Address. All ages will enjoy this, I would visit again

The gift shop is being renovated but there was plenty to choose from and the staff person was super nice, helpful & friendly.

This hotel has a very unique feel, especially on a weekday. On a Monday night, it wasn't filled with tourists, but instead felt like an extension of the Illinois State Capitol, with people throughout the hotel clearly engaged in business and legislative conversations. It gives the place a distinct working atmosphere that fits perfectly with its location. The hotel has a somewhat old-fashioned feel, which actually works well given the Abraham Lincoln connection and the historic character of Springfield. It doesn't try to be modern or trendy, but instead feels consistent with the setting. The room itself was clean and functional, with a slightly dated but well-maintained feel. The bed was comfortable, and the room included useful features like a mini fridge, a solid coffee setup, and plenty of charging options at both the desk and bedside. There's also a small table with two chairs that works well for either a quick meal or getting some work done. The bathroom was straightforward and clean, with a tub/shower combination and everything in good condition. Nothing fancy, but everything you need. One of the biggest advantages here is convenience. The hotel has on-site dining options, including a dinner restaurant and a breakfast spot. We did not try the breakfast buffet, which was offered at around $20 per person, but it appeared well set up. Parking is handled through a city-run garage attached to the building, and at about $7 for 24 hours, it's a great value. The front desk staff was excellent. Check-in and check-out were both smooth, and they even offer contactless check-in through their app, though we chose the traditional key card route. You do need a key card to access the elevator, which adds a layer of security. And of course, the DoubleTree cookies were flowing, which is always a nice touch. We were also able to leave our luggage at the hotel while we went out to visit several Abraham Lincoln sites around Springfield, which added even more convenience to the stay. Overall, the hotel is clean, well-run, and extremely well located. If you are visiting Springfield, especially for anything related to the State Capitol area, this is a very practical and fitting place to stay. Ebben and his team at Arlington's delivered exceptional service from start to finish. The food was incredible, the location required minimal decoration, and the staff were composed and communicative. What really stood out to me was how the team helped problem solve throughout the reception. At one point, our music playing device malfunctioned, and Ebben swooped in ready with spare cords and helpful words. We had underestimated the amount of time we would have to dance, but it was no problem - Ebben came in clutch with bar suggestions at the last minute. This guy is the gold standard for customer satisfaction, and was so easy to work with. I feel like in a different life he could have had a successful career as a hostage negotiator. The rest of his team was fantastic - we loved the bartenders and they had excellent communication with Ebben throughout the entire reception. I don't plan on getting married again LOL, but if I did, I would absolutely pick Arlington's every time. They just get it, and were indispensible in making our wedding a memorable and successful event. Thank you so much to all you guys - you are, quite literally, the best.

First, and most importantly, if you or someone you are traveling with is elderly or has limited mobility, please double check the room you've been assigned to. When I was getting in and out of the shower/jacuzzi tub combo, it occurred to me how difficult the leap over the edge into a slick tub would be for someone my father's age. (I did use and REALLY enjoy the jacuzzi, and the attached shower was fine, but it's something to note.) Also, shower before 8:30 if you want any hot water! Second, if you're going to Springfield for work and will need stable and strong WiFi, this is NOT the hotel for you. I was just trying to check email and could barely get enough signal to do that. The signal didn't seem to be any better in the cafe area downstairs. Third, if you need a hairdryer, be sure to bring your own. They don't have them in the rooms. Now, on to the positives! What a cute little hotel this was. Parking was easy and free. There was hot breakfast available, which I didn't try due to time constraints. But there were bagels (only blueberry, weirdly enough) and muffins and toast. Also, the coffee was fantastic! The room was clean enough, but I did notice some small crumbs on the rug when I arrived. There were a couple of holes in the sheets, but the sheets were certainly clean and the bed was comfy! There are some great little touches at this inn, such as the warm cookies that arrive each evening and the modest little happy hour in the afternoons. I would absolutely stay here again--it was unlike anywhere I've stayed before. And it was the perfect spot for touring around the Lincoln stuff and the Dana House and so forth.

Both the bride and groom were from Springfield, IL and had family and friends from the area but had quite a few of us driving from out of town (we decided to make the three hour drive from Chicago). As an out of town guest, it was one of the most seamless wedding events we've attended with everything in the same space. The groom was Indian while the bride was Caucasian and they managed to have an Indian ceremony first followed by the traditional Christian ceremony in the same space both which were well done. The mandap with the fire for the Indian ceremony perfectly doubled for the Christian ceremony. Although we hadn't brought our three year old with it was nice that they had a playground close by so the perfect spot to entertain little ones. The weather was nice so during cocktail hour on the terrace it was nice to be able to walk around the pond they have behind while waiting for the reception to begin. The staff perfectly transformed both the room we were in for the ceremonies as well as the neighboring room into a great banquet hall for the 250-300 guests that attended. It was a wonderful spot to have a wedding and most guests like myself left the day having a wonderful time! A perfect, auspicious way for the sweet bride and groom to be beginning their married life together.
