I was thinking if I lived in Worthington again, I would absolutely become a member to make use of the gym, pool, etc. I'm not sure what the etc. would be, but I would explore. Cool place.

I have really enjoyed the group fitness offerings and appreciate the variety of class times. The instructors are great and make the classes fun (even when they are kicking your butt). The center is located in Coffman Park with access to several walking trails.

I tried calling both the people (T & H, for short) who administer the test to schedule it and neither one called me back. I also texted one of them (H) and never heard back. So I called the rec center and they gave me the email for H. I emailed him and he replied and we scheduled it. Then, two hours before the time we had scheduled, he emailed me and said he would be teaching a class at that time and could I do it myself? I had never paid attention to the set-up of the procedure so I said no. So he said he would get someone to cover for him and he'd be there at our scheduled time. I got there early and waited about 15 minutes before I went to the front desk to tell them I needed help with the scheduled test. The person followed me back to the in-body room and pointed to a man and said "That's H". So he was out in the hallway having a conversation and I was waiting (at that point nearly 20 minutes) for him. He came in and gave me the test. Some version of this happens every 3 months when I buy new passes and have to run the gauntlet to get my free test and it is extremely frustrating.

It has an indoor fitness pool, an outdoor pool (looks like mostly designed for families with kids), an ice skating rink, a huge weight lifting and cardio machine area, multiple group fitness rooms, and a full-sized basketball court (that they use temporary drapes to turn into multiple courts for pickelball or pick-up basketball). There's probably more I'm missing. I've never actually walked through the entire place. They have a ton of community and fitness programming for the area. From 8 to noon then 4 to 9 most evenings, they have different fitness classes going on. They aren't just your basics either. They have enough TRX bands to support TRX classes or some of their strength-based classes use workout areas they've had installed. They have lots of spinning bikes and classes the support them. I've never actually encountered any machine or part of the fitness center that didn't work. Everything is well-maintained, and I've never even encountered an empty cleaning spray bottle before. The biggest "issue" I've had is when the water tastes a bit off because the red-light says the filter needs to be replaced on the water fountain. Prices aren't cheap, but they aren't expensive either. When a yoga class elsewhere will cost me $40, it's only $11 here at Kettering. If you get one of their multi-class passes or a membership, it's even cheaper on a per-class basis. They have lots of kids camps and kids activities including some homeschooling group play classes and more. I haven't paid much attention to the kid things, but I know they have some! Great spread of bodies and ages here too. You'll mostly see older adults, and it's really refreshing to see a ton of different types of people instead of the college-aged adults. Everyone here is super friendly, and it's clear a lot of the community uses this place as a great place to see and hang out with friends while staying active. Huge parking lot, but if there's a lot going on (like a kid's hockey meet), there have been a few times I've been unable to find a single parking spot in this beast of a parking lot. Bathrooms are clean too.

Our host welcomed us to stay during her two hour time slot. An everyone helped to stay and clean up, so we were all cleared out by 30 minutes after the party was over. I will note that this room not only had a large storage closet, but also a full kitchen that was off to the side and could be closed off. Through our entire visit, I don't think I saw anyone from the venue at all. Infact, this place was a no-man's land aside from us. I did appreciate that there was a small lounge area out on the second floor that was the perfect place to slip away when it came time to nurse my baby. Again, no one else was around to be bothered by us.

About 20 minutes after we were already in the pool, he came over and told us we needed proper swimsuits. I understand there are rules, but the way he spoke to us was disrespectful. Very cool museum that's a mix of indoor exhibits and open air. After purchasing our tickets, we…read morewere given a 12-minute screening about the discovery, excavation, and information about the village. In the exhibit, we were able to see artifacts that were dug up from the site, and other information about the villagers and structure of their lifestyle and politics. There were mini models and recreation of the natives that lived there. Outside, you can see part of the reconstructed village. It was smaller than I thought! I couldn't tell whether they rebuilt the buildings in a smaller circle, or whether that was the actual size. It was also only a little less than half the village it seems. I really enjoyed going into each of the huts and seeing how different they are. It was obvious that some are not finished building. The shop has nice items even including lesson plans for teachers! I like the children's books they have because they're published locally and usually isn't easy to find elsewhere. They teach about the local history of Ohio so it's nice to collect them. Overall, I highly recommend going to this museum. We probably spent about 1 hour there - which was shorter than I thought. I would love to see this museum expand and continue to build up. It's such a crucial part of the American history. I also personally wish they'd change the name from Indian to Native American.

I think there is massive room for improvement and making things just look nicer. I think those in charge could learn a lot from how the Great Council State Park was done. Lots of room for more hands and interactive things to keep the kids interesting in learning about our past. This could also spell more revenue from schools for Field Trips.

Swimming at the watering hole- 2 large pools, one side for lap lanes and diving teams to practice the other side for children which include a water slide, lazy river, water playground for toddlers. They do offer swimming lessons as well and water aerobics for adults. The gymnasium- excellent place for open gym basketball and to play pick up basketball games for adults. Many sports the center offers such as tennis, volleyball and a few others that require you to sign up/pay in advance. The work out facility- very clean kept with a track that loops around the top. Excellent place for adults to weight lift and work on cardio. Children under age of 16 not allowed in this area. If you have small children they do offer the sprouts room downstairs in which you pay to have your children watched. The room offers activities and toys for children. I believe the limit is 2 hours per stay. Climbing wall- open climbing offered certain hours and they have a climbing club. You can see the climbing wall as soon as you walk in. Playground- playground for children over looking the pool. Offers a good amount of seating for parents to sit while children play. Many classrooms on the backend that offer Zumba classes, karate, art classes, classes for the super young and classes for the elderly. I took the Fearless Falling class, held between 3:00 to 4:00 on Wednesdays and I learned so much. The senior lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays is only $4; you may choose to dine in or takeaway. Near the dining hall sits a huge cabinet filled with puzzles ranging from 300 to 1,000 pieces. Their generous policy is that you may bring puzzles or take as many puzzles as you like. The pool tables are always in use by smiling gentlemen and ladies. There is a quilt drop-in a couple of days a week. I'm impressed with how upbeat and cheery everyone is and I'm glad the city has created such a welcoming space for its seniors.
