I have a hard time finding a person who can apply good pressure.its been years. Not only can she apply good pressure, but also keep it consistent throughout the entire time. Also the massage table or whatever it's called was nice and wide. I didn't have to try and concentrate on keeping my arms tucked under my thighs so they don't fall. There are normal covid precautions you should take, but you are reminded before you arrive for your appointment. I have been coming to see Makamae specifically, for a few years now. Each visit has been exactly as expected. Makamae is professional and great at communicating to ensure you are well taken care of. She will ask and check-in to make sure you get the most out of your visit. Because of this, I don't go to any other place for my massages. Makamae knows how to mālama (take care) and I am always very grateful. Today, my most current visit, I didn't realize how tense and knotted up I was. Makamae found these spots and targeted them for me when I asked her to. Her pressure is never an issue for me, however, I always know I can communicate a change in pressure to her if it were necessary. I always leave feeling very calm and relaxed. This time it was the same, with an addition of feeling completely renewed! Mahalo nui e Makamae!

I like it hard & she went to town I requested deep tissue, but really liked her incorporation of some Thai massage, which is stretching out the body a bit. I plan on returning for massages in the future.

I've seen her 2x and it was good both times. However I was going in for therapy and being able to relax. It was hard to do so with all the noise going on. I understand the partial walls- but the lobby radio music on top of Sarah's music on top of the bossman in the back making insurance phone calls was really frustrating. Also those disposable face covers are not comfortable. I know laundry is annoying- but there has to be some better way than those. Not comfty for your face to be on that. Life gets busy and being able to make a slot for some body work- I just wanted to be able to shut my brain off and get in that healing zone.

I've never seen a massage therapist who incorporated a wide variety of techniques in a single session, so I was excited to try it. I booked online, which was very easy to do and completed intake forms electronically prior to showing up to my appointment. At my appointment, Jess asked me some questions and explained her process to me before we got started. Her room was at the perfect temperature and the ambiance was nice, clean and calming. Jess is very personable, professional, and thorough in what she does. You can tell that she's very passionate about her work and takes the time to educate her clients on what they can do at home to further enhance the benefits received by massage. My first session was in December of last year and I went for another one 2-3 weeks after that due to new pain and tightness that I felt in my body. Being a new mom has me experiencing aches and pains that I've never felt in my life prior to having a child. However, I'm thankful that I can go to the Pain Rehab Lab for relief when I really need it.

Originally I had reached out to make an appointment for just my Husband because he has been dealing with a lot of post surgery pain and he was suffering. Last minute I decided to make an appointment for myself because.. why not? She is very responsive through text, and very accommodating. I was willing to wait weeks for her but she squeezed us in just a couple days out. Parking was not an issue! It is street parking but she gives you very detailed directions and it's in a cul-de-sac so it's not complicated or difficult to find at all. I didn't know what to expect. I always feel shame just walking into someone's home (obviously) but her Husband was also there to greet us and I promised you, whatever first time jitters immediately went away. She is Mrs. Aloha.. if you were lucky enough to grow up in Hawai'i. She radiates not only love but also warmth. She's very personable and extremely knowledgeable. I was prepared to wait in the car until my appt time but she welcomed me to relax inside and showed us her gadgets (red light bed & electromagnetic therapy) It was a trip! But the massage itself, I'm not sure how she was able to pull off a 3 hour massage (90 mins for both) but we both got turnt out!! I had so many thing cracking and popping.. muscles that were relieved almost instantly. My Husband who has very little worlds, was completely blown away with how much pain disappeared in less than 2 hours. He has said he would like to go back regularly as soon as he is discharged from the Army. Personally, I don't think she is charging enough for her "gift", but I'm very grateful she keeps it so affordable so everyone has access to this care. I've already recommended her to all my gym friends so they will be reaching out to book soon. :)
