This was one of our favorite places to stay in Ireland! The Limestone is a beautifully picturesque home with stunning views of the cliffs of Moher, wonderfully appointed rooms, and the best Irish breakfast! Not to mention the hosts, who were friendly and had the sweetest little baby girl.
We found this bnb online but had to pay over the phone (made my hubby a little nervous calling halfway around the world with our cc info), but it was sure worth it!
Yes, it is a bit farther than most Bnbs in Doolin (you cannot really walk to the pubs) but in a tourist town what you really want is warmth and character. This house is surrounded by the traditional Irish fields of cows and sheep with long rock walls crisscrossing over the grass. We had a lovely walk down the road to visit with the animals. Also when you drive in, you pass a hauntingly lovely old church ruin and graveyard that is nice to stop at.
We were greeted with tea ready in our room. Our room was huge and on the ground level, with windows looking out onto the cliffs. The decor was cute and stylish with a nice sitting table and a flatscreen.
In the evening we drove a few minutes into town for live music and some drinks. It sure does get packed in the pubs!
For breakfast we both ordered the full Irish, which was arguably the best breakfast on our trip. The sausages were great as we're the black and white pudding that we fell in love with. The breakfast room had a great view of the cliffs as well and we chatted with the owners about where to go next.
We honestly wish we could have stayed longer at Limestone, but on our next trip to Ireland we will be sure to make it a hub for our travel. Mahalo! read more
